Jason Becker struggled to complete the guitars on this album as he was suffering the initial effects of ALS. He was given 3 - 5 years to live. I'm happy too say that 30 years later Jason is still with us and has given so much hope for others suffering with ALS
@wordgirl6267 it's hardly a miracle. He has been entombed in a paralysed state for over 20 years unable to do anything for himself and only able to move his eyes. It's truly awful what happened to the guy.
@@The_Macaroon Sure it's terrible but Jason has given some hope to others with the disease. His father and him created a method of communicating using an eye chart. Jason has used his eyes to create an album of music and a biography called "Jason Becker, not dead yet". He has the ability to enjoy life given the situation he was dealt. He has a huge support system and is loved by many, including fans who visit him. Yes, what he has done is nothing short of a miracle.
You can only experience spiritual difficulties if you think "God" has a chosen people. That contradicts what God and Jesus of Nazareth said about human life on earth. Many other ancient books from other countries describe their people as being children of God.
I have been waiting 30 years to see this video. You wouldn't believe how many times I tried to find it and it finally appears? Well it's about damn time!
Yes A Little Ain’t Enough is a great album back to front. And it has been re-released on vinyl a few yrs ago, I own it as a prized part of my collection:)
Dave wrote (I think, I never found it in any of the old Blues collections he covered in the old days) another, it was called Rubber Soled, Round Toed Shoes, it was so light and fun. I wanted to use it for part of a Native American movie, but he could not not find it, The old rumor is he has every piece of paper he ever had. I believe it was on a torn off piece of school notepaper or something, just kind of a ragged edge, torn, not cut....and the last time I heard him play it was at his Dad's house on Sierra Madre St. It fit perfectly into that scene of the movie.
Thank you for restoring & uploading this in a higher resolution. It's a travesty that so many great old videos don't get the same kind of treatment. It really shows how much Dave appreciates his fans.
LOL. If he appreciated his fans he would remaster his albums and put them out properly with some live stuff, demos etc. Or do another book. Not put up weekly nonsensical videos of NY City or dance videos that he’s uploaded five times before.
This just makes me wonder how much material is in the archives for Dave and Van Halen we haven’t seen. Keep ‘em coming Dave. I’ll be hanging with Vai and Sheehan first week of January. Wish Dave could join us too. And Biss
If you want to buy more product they certainly can keep manufacturing it. It won't be the original artists doing it, just editing old samples to be new for you.
I was on a 6 hour flight last month and I listened to this album on repeat the whole flight. I love it! I didn't know you filmed a video for this song David. Thanks for posting it!!
How did you KNOW, DLR? I haven't heard this song in 30 years but it's been running through my mind since I've been listening to the recent releases and Dave covers on this channel. This song gets at that "Zappaesque Oddfather Maestro" that was one of the many glorious faces of Dave that kept us warm in the cold shaft of light that was 80s hard rock/metal. There is only one Diamond Dave and this was one of his great ones that didn't get the attention it deserved that should have carried forward out of the 80s! ROCK ON DAVE.. may you always light the Menorah each year at Chanukah & thank you for this at Christmas!
'Zapperesque Oddfather Maestro' ? ...🤣😂...lol,,,,,,I can imagine what FRANK might have said - 'Some SENSIBLE SHOES....No brothel management BLUES....My sweet sugar plumb....On DINA MOE HUMM' .....lol
How fun. Love that room. I admit the first time I saw that house, and walked through it, I was a bit afraid, our big house on Del Mar was big enough and scary enough even with trained guard dogs. I am smiling thinking of Barrack the big Shepherd your Dad got as a guard dog, and you forgot to tell me the "REASON" I was asked to babysit him, and I left him in my car to run in somewhere a few minutes. Came back to see my car looked like a dryer, with that huge Shepherd roiling around in among the remains of my seat covers and even roofing upholstery. Then found out you had gone to drop off your car, and pick up your Dad's (or the other way around) because he had eaten that upholstery as well:). Dogs. I also smile remembering Dottie, the big girl that earned the sign on the gate that said "there is nothing in here worth dying for". She was so sweet, with her doggie smiles, but always gave me a feeling she might stop smiling quick. Over the years my guard dogs have been a huge mixed pack of purebreds and pound pups......But all so great! The overhauls as they are called on the Rez, give me a smile as well. Guess what? I got a standing ovation at a presentation and at my graduation last month.....how fun! Peace.
Such a great song to remaster! To me this is one of the best songs of DLRs solo career. It spotlights his amazing crooner voice, witty lyrics. It's bluesy and rock and roll all at the same time, sounds nothing like Van Halen, but everything like DLR. The song is from "A Little Ain't Enough", a really under rated album. It's an album released the same year as Van Halen's F.U.C.K album, some say the pinnacle of that second incarnation of Van Halen as DLR continued down his own path staying true to himself as an artist, distancing himself from the commercialized thing his former band had become. Also, this album was Jason Becker's last recorded guitar work at full capacity before the impact of ALS really took him out of the profession.... Also, not sure if Dave read's the comments, but Dave if you're out there reading, please unlock the vault keeping A Different Kind of Truth off streaming services! Look, all the fans know the album was made differently than the vintage stuff. It's all good. It's still YOUR voice and the mighty Van Halen bros doing their thing and it's a really damn good album regardless of the unorthodox way it may have come together. Your voice sounds great on those songs, incredibly lyrics that remind us what we were all missing. Put it back out there and be the Alpha and the Omega of Van Halen
True, but I personally liked Steve Hunter`s part more. It was a touch of genius from Dave to pair a great classic rock guitarist with an amazing young hotshot.

Dave’s solo stuff is underrated.

Pay attention kids, this is a timeless classic right here
One of my all-time favorite DLR songs. Dave at his best including lyrically.
This song is legitimately great, Dave's lyrics are great and Jason Becker is incredible...
John 5 was on this album. Jason Becker was on the amazing: A Little Ain't Enough.
This IS from the album A Little Ain’t Enough and it is Jason Becker. John 5 didn’t play with Roth until 1998.
Guitar credited to Steve Hunter and Jason Becker.
My bad. You are correct!

I think most of the guitar on this track is by Steve Hunter, who is awesome bluesy classic rock player.
Damn I can't believe I've never heard this song. Love it little blues
It’s about time we get the real Diamond 💎 Dave in his solo career. So underrated. 😊
One of my favorite Diamond Dave songs since forever. I say Rock on.
