I’m really happy with my 2023 Maverick Hybrid XL. Saved a good 15K vs the Lariat. Same truck just a little less fancy. I replaced the wheels to dress it up and called it a day. It serves its purpose as my daily driver. 39k for a Maverick is a lot of money.

Honda is GDI with a new 2speed ecvt , no data on reliability, do your research on Honda hybrids their old civic hybrid always failed. The only thing that will kill the ford is poor factory rust protection. After 7-8 hard winters they start rusting like crazy, the subframes will fall apart after 10yeàrs. Also Honda is the best engine manufacturer in the world, specializing in 4cylinders, but these turbo GDIs are hit n miss , they can't be trusted. Volvo is the best turbo engine manufacturer they've been doing it the longest, consistently the longest, (every model always had a natural or turbo variation since the 90s till now), also very reliable till the Chinese bought them out , oh and their cars NEVER rust u must neglect them alot before that happens. European cars r the best STRUCTURAL build quality (merc bmw audi porsche), 2nd is lexus, genesis, acura and all the American brands will fall apart due to rust but ford is the best American brand overall due to their Japanese tech partnership they had with mazda, euro tech with land rover /jaguar and volvo. I ordered a 2022 Ford Maverick when they first came out. It took a year before I received it. I liked it well enough. I loved the gas mileage. But after I received it, I realized that I had mistakenly ordered two Mavericks from two different dealerships. My intention was to buy the first one that arrived. It took over a year and a half for the second one to arrive. By that time, it was a 2023 model. Mavericks were in high demand at the time. I sold the first one to Carvana for a nine-thousand-dollar profit. I drove the second one for a couple of months and thought, "I should sell this and make more money." So, I traded it even for a 2023 Mazda CX-5 that cost $32,000. I made another nine grand. Thank goodness for the Maverick!
I always laugh when people talk about "space" for their kids. I grew up in western Nebraska and my dad, sister, and mom would all be crammed 4 across in the truck single cab bench seat. My dad gave me the option..ride in the truck bed or 4 across.
I would tell them to walk I was tired of there Opinion, and they needed to go to work and buy their own car and when they do are they buying 1 with a seat for me nope so walk u A H !!
I sold my Maverick Hybrid after one year. I waited 14 months for an XLT with Luxury Package. I got back what I paid for it. I needed a bigger bed. I picked up a 24 TRD Tacoma OR 6ft bed. The Hybrid was great with the 37-40mpg. This Mav Hybrid was a great deal.
Your video shows your lack of research during the 16 months you waited before your Maverick was delivered. You probably should have joined the Maverick Truck Club (MTC), and researched the comments of the Maverick owners regarding the features they liked and what they did not like before complaining that the truck is not a good fit. The specifications regarding head room, leg room etc is available for most car manufacturers including Ford upon review and research. I have been following your videos and don't understand how you can order the Maverick to the exact specifications and trim level, that you wanted; then 8 months later decide the truck does not meet your circumstances, especially after you accessorized the truck, and then give some unjustified and unwarranted opinion that all Maverick trucks are going to crash in value. . What I find troubling is your contradictory statements made during this video, when you instantly realized you have a growing family that will not fit in the truck, including yourself, and then, state you are planning on getting a smaller car that will be easier to get around; that makes no sense since you would probably get better gas mileage with the hybrid Maverick than the smaller car, unless the small car is a hybrid or EV. It is possible to buy any vehicle and find you have to sell or trade a car because of unforeseen circumstances preventing you from keeping the car. I had a 2008 Subaru Forrester with a 5 speed manual that I bought brand new, however I broke my left leg in 2 places and after a year it was still painful to throw the clutch, so I had to trade it in because I could no longer drive the car without being in pain.
Totally get what you're saying. Career switching will really mix things up if you've wanted sports cars and have been shoehorned into trucks for 10 years. (A little hint for the future videos coming out: 1 fun car and 1 family car is the way around the "contradiction") Edit: also my opinion on used values isn't a perfect prediction, just seeing that we are coming out of the crazy inflated car prices from the last 2 years + Ford released an update Maverick for 2025.
The 2025 Maverick hybrid is the way to go, now that they offer it with all-wheel drive and it can now tow up to 4,000 pounds and still get amazing fuel economy. It now checks all the boxes.
I’m gonna be honest. Sounds like the Maverick was never the right option for you. You logic yourself into purchases I can tell by the way you explain it. You get an idea and you think of ways until it fits even though it doesn’t and just go for it. It’s cool looks like you do well and can afford it. But it seems like a guy with excess income explaining buyers remorse to his wife who is pissed with the not so thoughtful for our family purchase.

In my case my maverick hybrid is still proving completely worthwhile, but this video and your comment really has me rethinking my future mentality from now on regarding purchases. I always talk as long as this guy does about my purchase logic to others, and I will be absolutely KO'd if someone cuts through it like you did and points out the bedrock of the logic underneath it all.
I waited 18 months Twice for my Mavericks. My first was XLT Luxury Package, sold it to my son and had ordered a Lariat. Both were “Private Offers” next year model. (XLT was 2022, became 2023 & the Lariat was 2023,became 2024) Love ‘em.
Mine took 18 months !!! Got the xl hybrid in March 23 love it. Yeah it’s a bit small now that I’m doing carpentry again - but I put a small shed near my parking space so I can easily load in what I need / when I need it . Gas mileage is excellent. I find it quite peppy . Great for shopping with the big rear seat and “ just sufficient “ for my small carpentry projects . I’m thinking of installing the “ elevate T slot rack system “ so I can carry stuff up to about 12 feet. That will suffice. Happily

I paid a deposit for my order for a maverick in February 2022. I was notified in February of 2024, that my truck was shipping March 2024, I picked it up in April 2024, so that was 26 months.

I have a 2022 Maverick Lariot that I paid 31,000 for. Carvana wants to pay me 31,500 with 11,000 miles on it. I LOVE this truck and do not want to sell it. I don't know where this video is going but I do not see my truck going down that much in value. It has been a great truck so far and will tow my 3800lb Tracker boat with ease. 22 mpg while towing and 30 mpg on the highway. It sure beats my old Ram @ 9 mpg towing.
I am happy with my 2024 Maverick XL. I have had it for 8 months and about 6,000 miles. I waited 18 months to get mine. Sounds like you don't really know what you want. My truck rides and handles very well. It is a joy to drive!
Document Fees are just additional dealer profit. You dont have to pay them. If they insist which I am sure they will try, just insist that they drop the price of the car by the amount of the doc fee.
@KT_keeper in my home state of texas doc fee cannot be more than 150 otherwise it has to be reported to the state its literally peanuts in a vehicle transaction
@@ericmings In South Carolina and Georgia the Doc feels can be whatever the Dealer wants it to be. I just negotiate an out the door price. I have seen them as high as $670. Its just additional dealer profit here. If you pay tax on it its open for discussion.
Kinda sounds like a Subaru boxer engine at the end... Sorry the Mav didn't work out for you. I ordered my 2023 XLT FX4 on the first day of the order banks and got mine built on the 2nd week of the 2023 model year. Definitely made sure I knew what things were gonna cause delays and avoided those. Sticker was under $30k, and I have loved it though for the almost two years that I've had it.

2024 maverick lariet fx4 eco, thing is quick as fuck and gets really great gas mileage still. Anyone looking to buy one I always tell them to go for the eco boost. I’m still averaging 30+ and sometimes even get around 39 on the hwy. so much better feeling than the hybrid power and transmission wise. Feels like you can actually use it as a truck more.
Trucks tend to hold value and the Maverick is and will continue to be a very popular truck, specially the Hybrid version. Sounds like you really wanted a sports car form the beginning and not a truck.
Hybrid 2.5L /191hp combined/155 lb-ft Tq/ curb weight 3,674 lbs vs 2.0L EcoBoost 250 hp/277 lb-ft Tq/ curb weight 3,731 lb. Compared with Ford Mustang 2024 2.3L EcoBoost /315 hp/350 lb-ft Tq / curb weight 3,579 lbs. The Maverick is not a sports car even a low powered one ,it is a compact truck.
Have a 2024 maverick eco lariet fx4.. thing is honestly quick af for a truck and gets killer gas mileage. Averaging 32+ sometimes even 39 on the highway.
Btw I got mine for 19,995 plus 135 for floor mats . Plus 1500 delivery. So basically 21500. I’m sure that at almost 2 years old and 20,000 miles it’s still worth about that much
Ford doesn't make gobs of money on the Maverick that's why they aren't building them as being demanded. Ford built one million mustangs in 18 months back in 1965. I have 4 Ford's in my driveway and used to work there. It's all about high end vehicles. I like that truck. Good luck with your next vehicle!
Seems like we both worked similar jobs. I occasionally work in the field or bring materials to the site but most of my time is spent in the office or driving between job sites to oversee progress. I have the opportunity to switch from an F150 to a Maverick. Because I feel like I don’t need an F150 80% of the time. However I’m concerned the Maverick will be too small for those 20% times when I have to pick up wheelbarrows, ladders, lumber, etc. tough decision to make. We do have other work trucks or vans, but driving back to a shop to switch vehicles is not ideal when you’re already out. You said you wouldn’t work in the field with the Maverick because it’s not a truck for that purpose. Makes me think it might not be the right choice for me. Even if it’s perfect 80% of the time.
Was at a Ford lot a couple weeks ago looking at Rangers. The dealer had 50 new Mavericks on the lot, and they told me they sit forever. They can't keep Rangers on the lot, and they can't give Mavericks away.
I bought a 2022 xl 4k brand new for $25k, now got 46,000 miles. It towed anything I hooked it up to, could fit anything I put in it, would go wherever I took it, and did it quite efficiently.
Why not just have a work truck for work, and get whatever else you want for a dd or fun car? That's what I do, and that arrangement works fine. You lose money if you buy a vehicle and don't keep it for at least 8 years.
Hey Brendan, been a while since I’ve checked your channel. Kinda fell off watching maverick content once I finally got mine back in February. Sad to hear you’re parting ways with yours after the journey leading up to you receiving it, but yeah sounds like the need for it for you is no longer. I’m the opposite, always had a sedan/car (learned and drove around on my dads 1990 Camry DX, then had a 2008 Mazda3 which I loved, and then a 2010 Altima Coupe S when someone crashed into my Mazda back in 2019, and always saw the Nissan as a means to an end). I wanted something kinda “the next size up” and that’s when the maverick was unveiled back in 2021 but only until last year was I in a position I could actually buy one now and so here I am. And I gotta say I LOVE the truck! So comfortable and really the perfect size and the fact that it is a pickup IS an added bonus. And I’m kinda glad I got it when I did cause I’m not sure how I feel about the 2025 redesigns. Anyway I’ll continue to watch and look forward to seeing your new vehicle (congrats btw) and the adventures with it.

When you say it fits your young children, were you able to get rear facing seats in the back while still being decently comfortable / safe in the front seats ?
That depends on how large you are. For me that wouldn’t work because I’m 6’5” If you’re 5’5” it probably would be fine. Or if there’s one kid in a rear facing that could be on the passenger side (with no front passenger)
I'm 5'11" and I have a rear facing child seat set behind drivers seat at the most horizontal setting (taking up the most space). I only had to move my drivers seat a few clicks forward. Still sat comfortably driving. This also secures the carseat more, pushing back on it after it's installed. Win win.
I'm 6'1" and had no problem when my kids had rear facing seats. I can even fit behind myself. If your 6'5" like the poster than you will have problems in a lot of vehicles unless they are full size trucks or SUVs. The Maverick has more rear seat room then all the Midsize trucks.
So is it safe or even legal to fly a drone to film yourself while driving at the same time ? Its pretty obvious in some of the shots your right hand is working he drone as you swerve around in and out of the bike lane ?

If hauling does not matter, the Maverick might work. However, Ford's reliability rate is plummeting lately. The Maverick and the Edge are the better Fords, but some of us realize that the future reliability is key.
I don't care what you buy. You're always going to lose the most the first year. Mavericks hold there value. But when you drive a new car off the lot that's where you lose right away. Unless there's a shortage, we can't rely on that again.
I bought a 23 Mav Lariat in cactus gray in May of 23 and now have 58k miles. I drive a ton for work. It's been great so far, but driving almost all Toyotas before this I am nervous as hell that it won't last much past 100k miles. I could break even if I sell now, but not sure what the smart move is. Pay off as quickly as possible, or sell and buy a cheaper high mileage Toyota. Thoughts?
Do what makes you sleep at night for sure. I personally was confident in the Maverick drivetrains overall because both the hybrid and gasoline only drivetrains were taken from other vehicles that have had them for years and years. Plenty of time to work out the bugs so to speak.
I've never bought or acquired a single thing in my life with the intention of selling it later. Not a car, not a house, not a motorcycle, not land, not even a girlfriend lol.
Should have gone with a more base model around 30k flat and just kept it. 5 years from now you'll be wishing you had it for the combo of utility and mpg.

Not all, however a fair majority of people with kids today are annoying . We had a 68 falcon coupe ! fit all four us fine . Went on vacations, my dad hauled 12 foot rolls of carpet , my parents paid the house off in 18 years.
No offense but 35k subs is not the "ok I'm ready to do this full time and support my family" moment. If you look at creators that do this full time and support themselves they typically don't have: a family to feed, their own home, car payments. They live with roommates and typically spend all their time making content and editing it. Never quit your job to do content until the content itself is able to support your family already and then slowly widdle away your hours at work if possible. As a financial channel this should be very obvious to you and the fact you did it anyways is why you're probably not successful in it. Nobody can trust a financial channel that does things against what their preach.
Too long a story. Overpriced to start out with. I do not pre order a car and wait months to get it. Go to the dealer and see what they have. Compare dealers and buy what is available unless it is some option you really need to have. Otherwise you get scammed even more. The chips excuse is over. The shortage excuse is over. No more above MSRP. Buy somewhere else or another model. We have made the corporations extremely wealthy.

I put in an order for a 24 last week. Would have loved a 25 with AWD hybrid 4k tow, but they ruined it with touchscreen only HVAC controls. Really wished they brought in the 2.3 for the maverick now that AWD hybrid has made the ecoboost obsolete.

I have a 2022 Maverick Lariot that I paid 31,000 for. Carvana wants to pay me 31,500 with 11,000 miles on it. I LOVE this truck and do not want to sell it. I don't know where this video is going but I do not see my truck going down that much in value. It has been a great truck so far and will tow my 3800lb Tracker boat with ease. 22 mpg while towing and 30 mpg on the highway. It sure beats my old Ram @ 9 mpg towing.
I am happy with my 2024 Maverick XL. I have had it for 8 months and about 6,000 miles. I waited 18 months to get mine. Sounds like you don't really know what you want. My truck rides and handles very well. It is a joy to drive!
It should gain $10,000 as soon as you drove it off the lot.

Document Fees are just additional dealer profit. You dont have to pay them. If they insist which I am sure they will try, just insist that they drop the price of the car by the amount of the doc fee.

@KT_keeper in my home state of texas doc fee cannot be more than 150 otherwise it has to be reported to the state its literally peanuts in a vehicle transaction
@@ericmings In South Carolina and Georgia the Doc feels can be whatever the Dealer wants it to be. I just negotiate an out the door price. I have seen them as high as $670. Its just additional dealer profit here. If you pay tax on it its open for discussion.
Kinda sounds like a Subaru boxer engine at the end... Sorry the Mav didn't work out for you. I ordered my 2023 XLT FX4 on the first day of the order banks and got mine built on the 2nd week of the 2023 model year. Definitely made sure I knew what things were gonna cause delays and avoided those. Sticker was under $30k, and I have loved it though for the almost two years that I've had it.

2024 maverick lariet fx4 eco, thing is quick as fuck and gets really great gas mileage still. Anyone looking to buy one I always tell them to go for the eco boost. I’m still averaging 30+ and sometimes even get around 39 on the hwy. so much better feeling than the hybrid power and transmission wise. Feels like you can actually use it as a truck more.
Where I live. My Maverick, a 2022 is still selling for the price I paid for it. I love my LITTLE Truck. Your words" ... so good and so new"

Trucks tend to hold value and the Maverick is and will continue to be a very popular truck, specially the Hybrid version. Sounds like you really wanted a sports car form the beginning and not a truck.

Hybrid 2.5L /191hp combined/155 lb-ft Tq/ curb weight 3,674 lbs vs 2.0L EcoBoost 250 hp/277 lb-ft Tq/ curb weight 3,731 lb. Compared with Ford Mustang 2024 2.3L EcoBoost /315 hp/350 lb-ft Tq / curb weight 3,579 lbs. The Maverick is not a sports car even a low powered one ,it is a compact truck.
Have a 2024 maverick eco lariet fx4.. thing is honestly quick af for a truck and gets killer gas mileage. Averaging 32+ sometimes even 39 on the highway.
Btw I got mine for 19,995 plus 135 for floor mats . Plus 1500 delivery. So basically 21500. I’m sure that at almost 2 years old and 20,000 miles it’s still worth about that much
Ford doesn't make gobs of money on the Maverick that's why they aren't building them as being demanded. Ford built one million mustangs in 18 months back in 1965. I have 4 Ford's in my driveway and used to work there. It's all about high end vehicles. I like that truck. Good luck with your next vehicle!
They are building them as fast as they can. They already sold 90,000 in just 6 months this year. That will be around 180,000 by the end of the year.
Seems like we both worked similar jobs. I occasionally work in the field or bring materials to the site but most of my time is spent in the office or driving between job sites to oversee progress.
I have the opportunity to switch from an F150 to a Maverick. Because I feel like I don’t need an F150 80% of the time. However I’m concerned the Maverick will be too small for those 20% times when I have to pick up wheelbarrows, ladders, lumber, etc. tough decision to make. We do have other work trucks or vans, but driving back to a shop to switch vehicles is not ideal when you’re already out.
You said you wouldn’t work in the field with the Maverick because it’s not a truck for that purpose. Makes me think it might not be the right choice for me. Even if it’s perfect 80% of the time.
Was at a Ford lot a couple weeks ago looking at Rangers. The dealer had 50 new Mavericks on the lot, and they told me they sit forever. They can't keep Rangers on the lot, and they can't give Mavericks away.
I bought a 2022 xl 4k brand new for $25k, now got 46,000 miles. It towed anything I hooked it up to, could fit anything I put in it, would go wherever I took it, and did it quite efficiently.
Why in gods name would anyone sink $39,000 into a Ford Maverick? 😨
i think the pre 25 models will skyrocket in price because the 25s are coming out with a GPF meaning the newer trucks will be way more unreliable.

Why not just have a work truck for work, and get whatever else you want for a dd or fun car? That's what I do, and that arrangement works fine. You lose money if you buy a vehicle and don't keep it for at least 8 years.
Hey Brendan, been a while since I’ve checked your channel. Kinda fell off watching maverick content once I finally got mine back in February. Sad to hear you’re parting ways with yours after the journey leading up to you receiving it, but yeah sounds like the need for it for you is no longer. I’m the opposite, always had a sedan/car (learned and drove around on my dads 1990 Camry DX, then had a 2008 Mazda3 which I loved, and then a 2010 Altima Coupe S when someone crashed into my Mazda back in 2019, and always saw the Nissan as a means to an end). I wanted something kinda “the next size up” and that’s when the maverick was unveiled back in 2021 but only until last year was I in a position I could actually buy one now and so here I am. And I gotta say I LOVE the truck! So comfortable and really the perfect size and the fact that it is a pickup IS an added bonus. And I’m kinda glad I got it when I did cause I’m not sure how I feel about the 2025 redesigns. Anyway I’ll continue to watch and look forward to seeing your new vehicle (congrats btw) and the adventures with it.

When you say it fits your young children, were you able to get rear facing seats in the back while still being decently comfortable / safe in the front seats ?
That depends on how large you are. For me that wouldn’t work because I’m 6’5”
If you’re 5’5” it probably would be fine.
Or if there’s one kid in a rear facing that could be on the passenger side (with no front passenger)
I'm 5'11" and I have a rear facing child seat set behind drivers seat at the most horizontal setting (taking up the most space). I only had to move my drivers seat a few clicks forward. Still sat comfortably driving. This also secures the carseat more, pushing back on it after it's installed. Win win.
I'm 6'1" and had no problem when my kids had rear facing seats. I can even fit behind myself. If your 6'5" like the poster than you will have problems in a lot of vehicles unless they are full size trucks or SUVs. The Maverick has more rear seat room then all the Midsize trucks.
So is it safe or even legal to fly a drone to film yourself while driving at the same time ? Its pretty obvious in some of the shots your right hand is working he drone as you swerve around in and out of the bike lane ?

If hauling does not matter, the Maverick might work. However, Ford's reliability rate is plummeting lately. The Maverick and the Edge are the better Fords, but some of us realize that the future reliability is key.

I don't care what you buy. You're always going to lose the most the first year. Mavericks hold there value. But when you drive a new car off the lot that's where you lose right away. Unless there's a shortage, we can't rely on that again.
I bought a 23 Mav Lariat in cactus gray in May of 23 and now have 58k miles. I drive a ton for work. It's been great so far, but driving almost all Toyotas before this I am nervous as hell that it won't last much past 100k miles. I could break even if I sell now, but not sure what the smart move is. Pay off as quickly as possible, or sell and buy a cheaper high mileage Toyota. Thoughts?

I personally was confident in the Maverick drivetrains overall because both the hybrid and gasoline only drivetrains were taken from other vehicles that have had them for years and years. Plenty of time to work out the bugs so to speak.
I've never bought or acquired a single thing in my life with the intention of selling it later. Not a car, not a house, not a motorcycle, not land, not even a girlfriend lol.

No offense but 35k subs is not the "ok I'm ready to do this full time and support my family" moment.
If you look at creators that do this full time and support themselves they typically don't have: a family to feed, their own home, car payments. They live with roommates and typically spend all their time making content and editing it. Never quit your job to do content until the content itself is able to support your family already and then slowly widdle away your hours at work if possible. As a financial channel this should be very obvious to you and the fact you did it anyways is why you're probably not successful in it. Nobody can trust a financial channel that does things against what their preach.

Compare dealers and buy what is available unless it is some option you really need to have. Otherwise you get scammed even more. The chips excuse is over. The shortage excuse is over. No more above MSRP. Buy somewhere else or another model. We have made the corporations extremely wealthy.

I put in an order for a 24 last week. Would have loved a 25 with AWD hybrid 4k tow, but they ruined it with touchscreen only HVAC controls. Really wished they brought in the 2.3 for the maverick now that AWD hybrid has made the ecoboost obsolete.
