You probably would have been happy with a XL. I totally do not get the seat covers on the Lariat. They are already a very durable easy to clean fake leather material. I put Mabett seat covers on an XL and they looked like OEM. You shocked me that you didn’t point out adaptive cruise control. That was my favorite feature. I also like remote start. That can help cool or warm up the interior.
I think you’re right, but we live and learn. I had seat covers on my F150 from day 1 and they took the beating instead of the seat material so I love them. Dirt, grime, scratches from tools, abuse and neglect all of the above
Just bought my xlt hybrid in May and my experience is similar to yours. Absolutely loving that at 5'-10" with T-Rex arms I can actually reach in and get things out of the bed. As far as a bed cover goes, just spend 110-130 bucks and get one of the cheap Chinese hard tri-folds. They do a good job of securing your bed since the tailgate is locking, and if you need full access it only takes two minutes to remove it.
Size isn't the issue. It's tooling. The best selling vehicle on the planet is a full sized truck. So they would have to use completely different tooling for the Maverick. And it's the only one it's size. That costs money.

Ok glad to have found a fellow tall guy reviewing this. I'm 6'4" and car shopping and seriously considering the Maverick. Looks to have comfortable headroom.
After our purchase, we got Ford bucks and we applied it towards the soft rollup bed cover. It took 45 minutes to install in our carport. It was only a few hundred actually. Makes the truck look so much nicer.
The bed cover costs the same to produce because the actual cost of the material is, virtually, insignificant compared to the total cost of manufacturing an entire cover.

Great video as usual and I'm really glad to see you are enjoying your Maverick. My Lariat Hybrid is scheduled to be built next week (1/15/24) so it shouldn't be long now. Since I am also coming from a 2013 F150, your insights are particularly interesting to me. Keep up the good work with these videos!
Thank you!! You should be getting some exciting updates this week! So crazy we made the exact same truck moves. Man if you’re selling your 2013 F150 online, get ready for a bunch of dead end messages 😅 “Is it still available?” About 3x per day
I have a '24 Hybrid XLT. I've had it 10 1/2 months, just under 6,000 miles. Hand calculated, I'm at about 39 MPG. The one thing I have found is that the hybrid does NOT like cold weather. It does not stay up to temperature if I'm cruising around much in electric mode. I was getting 41-44 MPG in the summer, but about 33-35 in the winter in SE Michigan.

Seems like anyone going from a full-size pickup to a Maverick hybrid must be really be wanting the much-better mileage, because otherwise the size downgrade would be prohibitive. But kudos to Ford for having the good sense to realize that there is a major untapped market for a small utility truck.
Unless you’re towing or hauling a lot of weight, then full size trucks are pointless. I have a 2021 platinum f150, and just got a 2024 Prius with a Thule roof rack. I haven’t touched the f150 in a month. I only keep it for the boat and camper.
I got the rolling revolver X4S for my Tacoma and can’t recommend it enough. I know it’s expensive, but it turns the truck bed into a giant trunk where you can securely leave your stuff, is super easy to roll out of the way, and it looks nice with the flush fitment.
I just picked up an XLT Hybrid and I'm thrilled. I didn't want the leather, but a nicer stereo would have been appreciated. Also a little miffed that even with "Copilot 360" there's no adaptive cruise, and super weak-sauce lane-keep, but it'll teach me not to take a sip of coffee without taking my eyes off the road for even half a second - easy enough in a cabin this small.
In hindsight I should have gone base XLT and saved a bunch of expenses but oh well! Yeah I’m still not in love with those kinds of driver aids, even the full fat ones like Blue Cruise
I still haven’t seen a lockable door for the bed cubby. I could put one on the plastic door but that would just encourage someone lol. I just have my cargo straps in the lower compartment but the top just has a couple rags. You could put a gold bar in the lower cubby and nobody would ever know lol.
You did a great job , my wife and I each have the xl hybrid the seat problem taken care of we each drive are own truck. And soft tonneau covers on ebay start at $116 with free shipping I went to the Theodore Robins Ford the parts man recommended a hard cover because he got the soft cover and went to his girl friends house the first week he had it and some bad guy cut the cover with a knife. I still wondering what cover to get I don't want to pay a $1100 x2 that to to me is insane! on ebay hard covers start around $350 and up which is food for thought .
Great video! Made slightly surreal by the fact you literally turned into the neighborhood I live in at one point lol. But that aside, I'm debating purchasing a Maverick in the near future and this was very helpful!
I after having an Avalanche for 11 years and the cover that came with was just as strong as day 1, I bit the bullet and ordered my 2025 with the hard tri-fold cover. Nothing compares with the ridiculous amount of storage inside an F150 with the back seats folded up. That sold me. The crappy gas mileage and leaking door ruined it. I am hoping to get my Maverick Lariat by January.
I have a 2023 Maverick HEV with 30K miles for reference, and there are a few things I wanted to point out as well. First thing, you will be bombarded with recalls on your truck. I have gone through more then half a dozen recalls, and they still issue recalls based on packages I have. I have also had Ford National issue me refunds because they missed some modules on my truck that should've been there (hot spot module for example). I have the exact same floor liners as you, I really like the floor liners. A trick I am doing is that I take my truck to the dealership to get oil changes and tire rotations done (and sometimes recalls), and they add points to your Ford profile. I have tens of thousands of points because they also include the purchase of the Maverick in the point calculation. I am building up on points so I can put towards redeeming for their hard roll-up from Ford. There's a lot to unpack, and there's a lot of tricks with the truck. But overall, I'm glad you're enjoying your new truck, and nice work on the video.
I have A. Soft roll up bed cover and I like it..I have the double tray console organizer. and I also got a console cover for my own rest .. Absolutely. Love my Maverick. You made a right choice.
Thanks for your review. I was on the fence on buying this one. But after seeing the lack of space with the baby car seats in the back, well, that's a deal breaker for me. Thanks again for sharing your post.
I’m 21 with a Toyota Tacoma. I’m 6’3 and I’m actually trading in my Tacoma for a maverick XLT tomorrow. The ride is so much better. I have way more head room. A lot more leg room and to be saving on gas is amazing. However I’m not getting the hybrid engine I’m still going to have amazing fuel economy. I can’t wait to get my maverick
Hey Brendan, also, don't forget to redeem your Ford Pass points! They're worth about $200, so we just got a nice bed mat from Ford and a cubby, both free!
Brendan, I just got my Maverick on April 26th. I know exactly how you feel about the Tonneau Cover scenario. I stumbled onto the Worksport AL3 Pro Hard trifold cover for $675. Im liking it so far. Im still learnig more about my Maverick. Loving the MPG im getting. I haven't tried using the Eco mode yet. I wished Ford would offer an information or getting to know your Maverick course.
I've been eyeing the Maverick for a few weeks, this video was super hopeful! With the 2025 models coming out soon, I'm waiting to see which one our family will go with. Having the saved seat adjustments you mentioned would be a huge plus if that's a feature for the next iteration.
I really like these little maverick trucks, I missed out on getting one due to dealership markups and such. I may just wait til a redesign comes and I can get a low mileage used one of these
Nice video! I have the 2023 hybrid xlt for 10 months and I put 13,000 miles on it and love it. I had the soft roll cover from Ford and I love it too. I definitely recommend it. I miss having better lighting on the truck bed…
Thanks for the tip on floor mats. I went super-cheap on Amazon and wish I hadn't...they aren't a value when holes start appearing in 3-4 months of very ordinary use. Lesson learned.
I don’t have a Maverick but I see a Soft Topper is only around $950 for the Maverick. I have this on my full size truck and love it. So much flexibility and cheaper than a tonneau cover
Hey Brendan, awesome review!..I noticed you mentioning you want to get tonneau cover for good price, I recently ordered a Hard Trifold Flip Up Tonneau cover from Rough Country which came out to $815 with tax included..I would definitely recommend them
Interesting video. I've considered buying a Maverick but I think that like you I'd end up using the truck bed once a year or so, which means I'm better off with our two SUVs. And no payments.
Great stuff that helps in my decision-thanks! I am leaning toward an XLT, EcoBoost with AWD at this point. I mainly want a truck to get my dirtbike to the dirt and my kids from place to place, so I think this would fit the bill nicely. And yeah, carseats _suck_ in anything that isn't a large sedan, unless you're short yourself. My twins graduated to boosters last year and it was life-changing, LOL. It allows me to consider a vehicle that isn't particularly roomy in the back, which is nice.
Great video, thanks for sharing! I’m just about to hit 2000 miles and love mine so far. This is the only vehicle I’ve ever owned that actually exceeds the fuel mileage estimate on the window sticker. I’ve been getting about 43 miles per gallon with mostly city driving and not taking it easy at all. The only complaint I have is there’s kind of an annoying dash rattle on bumpy roads. Just curious if anybody else has experienced it and if so, have you found a fix?
I had a rattle on week one but thankfully it disappeared. It was extremely annoying. Somewhere on the corner of the driver’s side dash by the windshield. I’ve got the ecoboost and tow. So far I average about 28mpg.
I'm waiting for deliver for my 2024 Maverick XLT Hybrid. It's to replace my 1999 Ford F150 (8 cyl). It's cool to see all the added features on my new truck. I'm looking forward to having power windows and locks ... and then there's so much else. Thanks for the review.
I have the Real Truck TRUXEDO PRO X15 Tonneau cover. Doesn't leak that bad. I keep boot, coats tools and lumber in the back at all times. Nothing gets wet. It's a cloth top which at first I was concerned with but it's been great for a year now. It cleans well at the touchless carwashes(this will get a little water inside at the edges). On my Silverado i have the Truexedo vinyl top roll up and I prefer the x15. Also, did you know that your rearview mirror is on a 2 ball adjustment? Looks like it's still low in your video. Take what you call the extension piece, push up on it easily(dont break it), until it 'maxes out in up direction). Then use the top ball joint swivel to adjust mirror position to your needs, this is the highest position it will go. I have the 23XL and I ordered the 24 Lariat in Terrain with BAP.
Good stuff.....but I hate seat covers. Why get a Lariat and then not be able to enjoy the leather seats?...Only seat cover I agree with is the rear for dogs and such that can be easily removed when not needed. Thats the only one I use when transporting my pooch somewhere.
I just got my Brand new 2024 XLT and I'm currently loving it but thank goodness I'm not super tall and my wife so this truck fits us just perfect lol overall im not even 200 miles in for mine but I love it
I have the soft fabric roll up from amazon and like it. When rolled up this gives me full access to the bed, where as a tri fold limits my use of the bed with the fold.
I’ve seen videos of people complaining about plastic scratches. It’s no more or less that any other plastic material in vehicles. If you are constantly dragging your foot when getting out, adjust the seat back a little.
I wish Ford had put the adjustable pedals in this. I am 6’4” and I LOVE the idea of gas saving but really want and need headroom and legroom after driving a Toyota for years. It’s the one thing that makes me leery of this. I have terrible knees and driving with knees constantly bent isn’t an option.
Have a 2023 lariat hybrid. My only real complaint is to have to keep setting to Eco mode every time i turn on. Doesn't save settings. Other than that, no problems. Love it. See you finally got your Maverick. Congrats
Look up the My Maverick auto switcher. It switches the car automatically to eco mode every time you turn on the car and since I've set mine up I never have to switch to eco mode because it does it by itself.
@@brendandrives Nice! Yeah the seller is a very helpful guy. He actually is local to where I live so he was willing to come by my house and install the unit onto my truck. It's pretty straightforward install, just read the instructions. Once it's set, it sets the drive mode as advertised on every startup of the vehicle and you never have to manually set the vehicle to whatever mode you want default ever again. It's worth every penny.
I drive a Silverado HD2500 and drove a Maverick for a test drive today. It was so much fun to drive! Tight turns…finally! But at 6’5” tall my only complaint for the test ride is the rear view mirror is so low it creates a blind spot on my windshield. Anybody else notice this? Otherwise I fit just fine and loved the smooth ride. And the price.
Hi Brendan! How has the bed space been for ya? I've seen and earlier video of yours moving you're f150 stuff over... I've got mine on order. Will try and still be a tile guy out of my maverick vs my old f150... Have you utilized anything like Billy Bars or a truck box on you're new maverick for above bed storage? Thanks for the great videos.
We just used it this weekend to move 2 beds and it totally worked! So it's been good thus far! Working on a video to publish later this week where I went and got sheets of plywood which is the stereotypical test of course.
As much as I'd love to be getting 40 mpg, I love/want/need the 6' bed of the old 2dr Ranger more. I don't understand why they don't offer a 2dr. It looks like I'll be saving more money with no truck payments and 24mpg for the indefinite future. These old four bangers run forever.
I just traded my ram 1500 (which I really liked) for a xlt hybrid maverick. So far I'm happy, yes it's small, yes it's not a "real truck" but 40+mpg is awesome and I can still do 90% of the stuff I used my old truck for...main thing I dislike is all the pop ups on the dash every time I drive...
Compare what's on the Ford website: www.ford.com/trucks/maverick/models/?intcmp=vhp-seconNav-modselect The XL is awesome because it's so cheap, but the XLT does add some nice to have features.
Glad you enjoy your Maverick! I just logged 200 miles on my 2024 Black Eco Boost XL, no options save the $100 hitch. Already hauled 800 lbs of pellets in the bed , the rear barely dropped, love it!
A guy i know got the ford soft for maverick and he used his points and it was short money also its easy on and off when he needs the full bed You can't easily take off a metal one We have a convertible wrangler and the reality is we just don't leave anything in car that i care about if it got stolen and the same would hold true for pickup bef
i do not understand why ppl talk about maverick is small. it is the smallest truck from Ford, if you want a bigger one, buy f150 or something else, it suppose to be a city truck
I guess it's a pet peeve of mine, but what about the little cubbie on the right side of the radio display? What do you put in it? It bugs me to constantly see it and not know what to do with it. I think I'm the only one who is annoyed by that thing. Why is it there? What purpose does it serve? Does anyone else talk about it? Great video, btw!
Are you using premium gas? Because my biggest disappointment - and it's really quite minor - is that I'm NOT getting over 40 mpg. I'm getting 39. I've been using regulator gas, and maybe I'm just afflicted with lead-footitis. My other minor complaints: a) it doesn't remember my drive mode setting - if I want to drive in ECO mode, I must set it every time I start it; b) every time I start it, a screen comes up between the gauges informing which seats are occupied - a big green check mark appears on the driver's seat and red Xs appear on the other seats - and I must press the OK button twice to make it go away; c) the sun visors are too small - the sun is always sneaking around the sides, hurting my eyes, and making me lean to the side; d) the hard roll-up tonneau cover for which I paid $1,200 is quite non-leak-proof at the tailgate, with big gaps and a kinda sloppy look; e) I copied all my music to a thumb drive - dozens of albums - but while driving I can't scroll through the list and pick what I want to play because it says it's not safe to allow that while driving.
I totally agree with A and B. But boom just using 87 octane. Really practicing being gentle with the right foot and using the EV coach to help me stay in Electric mode as much as possible.
The checks and OKs go off when you start driving. I can’t remember but I think it goes off at the speed your doors automatically lock. What’s really annoying is you have to have seatbelt on to go through the menus.
Glad you are enjoying your Maverick Brendan! I'm still jealous. My truck has been built, but it is still sitting at the factory, waiting to get on the train. Thought with build start in mid November I'd have it by now.....
First of all it's way faster in sport mode. But you get crummy gas mileage in sport mode. And Sport mode and Tow mode seems like it's the same. I tow a small boat. You can't even feel it back there. Second of all I have the hard roll up bed cover. It's the first of its kind. It was expensive. But I absolutely love it and I'm glad I got it. It cost over twice as much as the moon roof did but I don't care it rocks!😊
@@brendandrives cool man! I have to tell you something; that plug in the back? I go fishing I use minnows. I have a minnow bucket that has batteries to bubble the meadows to keep them alive. Batteries are expensive. Even rechargeable batteries. I bought a cheap fish tank air pump with bubbler. I just plug that in and put the bubbler in my minnow bucket. To and from the bait shop and putting my boat in the water and the drive there and I don't have to use my batteries unless I'm actually on the water Fishing 👏🏼 Sweet
Tow/haul doesn’t shift as aggressively using higher rpm’s. It also downshifts pretty aggressively to engine brake your vehicle and your load. I think the Mavericks with the ecoboost engines are underrated on tow capabilities. I can pull big hills pulling a trailer and the engine doesn’t even have to downshift. I get 20mpg towing which is way better than what I’m used to.

I don't care if passengers are comfortable - I will never have any beyond the front seat. Four doors are a waste. Every complaint is a whine about 'convenience', not anything with the truck.
Of course it’s small vs your F150 😂. It’s not supposed to be anywhere near a full size truck in any way. Stop comparing it to something it’s not meant to be duh 🙄 Slow down on your delivery. You’re talking so fast I’m getting tired 😪 Otherwise good review.
I just want a small truck, my last Toyota tundra was smaller than the modern tacoma which is silly. Every vehicle has gotten absurdly large. Soccer moms driving huge SUV’s that they have no idea how too drive. Lifted f-150 that never leave the pavement.
I guess most the "cons" you have won't exist if you paid less for an XL 😅 I think I'll keep my f150 super crew and just take delivery of the Mav with financing or cash.
Why not punt on the Maverick and trade to get a new F-150? The 2023 F-150s are significantly discounted and I bet Ford will have 0% APR during Ford Truck Month which is Feb. and March. The Maverick was my first truck. I test drove a F-150 in Dec. and I would take a deal on 2023 F-150 Hybrid at 0% over a 24 Maverick Lariat with a high APR. Maybe you are getting an XL, which would make more sense, but they are no longer a smoking hot deal after the price increases. A Maverick feels very cheap. The F-150 I drove which was an XLT felt like it was on another level completely. The backseat is enormous and it is a capable truck.
@@joyofnft8084 because I already have f150, and I'll never get an XL f150. If I get new f150 I'll get platinum or king ranch. The Mav is just to replace my Sonata hybrid as in town vehicle being small and efficient, and hopefully I can use it for hunting and not worrying scratch it for how cheap it is. Even an XL f150 is not cheap, then I'll have the same issue as with my current f150 being too nice to go off road 😅 It's why I'll only get XL maverick, higher trim doesn't offer any comparable equipment level as higher trim f150 anyway. Paying 40k for an escape with bed is just too much for me.
Uh....everything has went up. Ford did what everyone else did. Think about cost to every piece of metal or plastic, how it's made, by who or what and what or who made that equipment to make or produce that part. Shipping, fuel, air or water, people involved all the way to the guy who takes the trash out or cleans the bays for the next rig. Some of you whiney people really need to stop and think about the process before you call it greed. Did you ever ask for a raise? Cmon....open up them thinking cells a bit. There is a process that involves hundreds of people.

Woah kinda creepy
Sounds great!
Thanks for your review. I was on the fence on buying this one. But after seeing the lack of space with the baby car seats in the back, well, that's a deal breaker for me. Thanks again for sharing your post.
Glad I could help!
Ridgeline. Did not regret going with that instead. Plenty room. No hybrid tho. 20-28 mpg.
Yeah thanks for the reminder! I got the first oil change for free using points. So strange you can’t order ford accessories online to ship to Arizona
I may just wait til a redesign comes and I can get a low mileage used one of these
The day will come when they aren’t priced ridiculously
Nice video! I have the 2023 hybrid xlt for 10 months and I put 13,000 miles on it and love it. I had the soft roll cover from Ford and I love it too. I definitely recommend it. I miss having better lighting on the truck bed…
Hey Thanks! Yeah I have bed lighting for the first time and it’s great. Haven’t used that plug in the bed at all
Thanks for the tip on floor mats. I went super-cheap on Amazon and wish I hadn't...they aren't a value when holes start appearing in 3-4 months of very ordinary use. Lesson learned.
Thanks for watching!
Husky liners. Made in the USA and extremely durable.
I had the softcover for my 22 fe maverick. I solid it to someone I know. Bought a trifold hard low profile cover. It was under $700. I really like it
So you didn’t like the soft cover?
I don’t have a Maverick but I see a Soft Topper is only around $950 for the Maverick. I have this on my full size truck and love it. So much flexibility and cheaper than a tonneau cover
Bought a Maverick Tremor and its awesome. Moved a couch/bed down to a friend today.
Truck friend duty
Hey Brendan, awesome review!..I noticed you mentioning you want to get tonneau cover for good price, I recently ordered a Hard Trifold Flip Up Tonneau cover from Rough Country which came out to $815 with tax included..I would definitely recommend them
I'll check it out! Thank you!
That’s the one I’ve been planning on getting. Still thinking about a roll up hard cover though.
Interesting video. I've considered buying a Maverick but I think that like you I'd end up using the truck bed once a year or so, which means I'm better off with our two SUVs. And no payments.
Yeah if you're capping it anyway I'm not sure there's a benefit to a truck
Great stuff that helps in my decision-thanks!
I am leaning toward an XLT, EcoBoost with AWD at this point. I mainly want a truck to get my dirtbike to the dirt and my kids from place to place, so I think this would fit the bill nicely.
And yeah, carseats _suck_ in anything that isn't a large sedan, unless you're short yourself. My twins graduated to boosters last year and it was life-changing, LOL. It allows me to consider a vehicle that isn't particularly roomy in the back, which is nice.
A really nice thing ...window vent shades so that you can leave your windows cracked even in the rain.
What kind of fuel does this take?
Normal gasoline
Great video, thanks for sharing! I’m just about to hit 2000 miles and love mine so far. This is the only vehicle I’ve ever owned that actually exceeds the fuel mileage estimate on the window sticker. I’ve been getting about 43 miles per gallon with mostly city driving and not taking it easy at all. The only complaint I have is there’s kind of an annoying dash rattle on bumpy roads. Just curious if anybody else has experienced it and if so, have you found a fix?
Yeah I agree! I regularly get crazy mileage. But no dash rattles here!
I had a rattle on week one but thankfully it disappeared. It was extremely annoying. Somewhere on the corner of the driver’s side dash by the windshield.
I’ve got the ecoboost and tow. So far I average about 28mpg.
I was wondering the same thing about bed covers for my Gladiator. Took a chance on a cheap one from Amazon and I love it
I'm waiting for deliver for my 2024 Maverick XLT Hybrid. It's to replace my 1999 Ford F150 (8 cyl). It's cool to see all the added features on my new truck. I'm looking forward to having power windows and locks ... and then there's so much else.
Thanks for the review.
Thats going to be a major upgrade!
3:45 Solved this problem by not letting wife drive my Maverick
That’s definitely a strategy 😜
I have the Real Truck TRUXEDO PRO X15 Tonneau cover. Doesn't leak that bad. I keep boot, coats tools and lumber in the back at all times. Nothing gets wet. It's a cloth top which at first I was concerned with but it's been great for a year now. It cleans well at the touchless carwashes(this will get a little water inside at the edges). On my Silverado i have the Truexedo vinyl top roll up and I prefer the x15.
Also, did you know that your rearview mirror is on a 2 ball adjustment? Looks like it's still low in your video. Take
what you call the extension piece, push up on it easily(dont break it), until it 'maxes out in up direction). Then use the top ball joint swivel to adjust mirror position to your needs, this is the highest position it will go.
I have the 23XL and I ordered the 24 Lariat in Terrain with BAP.
Thanks I was actually considering that one!
Was looking for the backseat space with child car seats on. Thank you sir 🤙🏼
It's real tight! Hope your kids are short and/or patient
3:40 Thank you! That was my #1 question!
Glad it helped!
Good stuff.....but I hate seat covers. Why get a Lariat and then not be able to enjoy the leather seats?...Only seat cover I agree with is the rear for dogs and such that can be easily removed when not needed. Thats the only one I use when transporting my pooch somewhere.
I'm looking at getting this truck soon. I'm coming from a 2010 ford fusion, so this would be a big step up.
Similar drivetrain but a massive change otherwise!
I just got my Brand new 2024 XLT and I'm currently loving it but thank goodness I'm not super tall and my wife so this truck fits us just perfect lol overall im not even 200 miles in for mine but I love it
Right on!
I have the soft fabric roll up from amazon and like it. When rolled up this gives me full access to the bed, where as a tri fold limits my use of the bed with the fold.
@@danielpilachowski2424 I also have the soft roll up one as well and yes Amazon for me and it does the job
No need for a locking side compartment in the pickup bed if you get a tri-fold hardcover which is what I have. Yeah about a thousand bucks not cheap
Is the plastic interior in the Lariat scratch proof?
I don’t think I’ve met plastic in my life that is scratch proof
I’ve seen videos of people complaining about plastic scratches. It’s no more or less that any other plastic material in vehicles. If you are constantly dragging your foot when getting out, adjust the seat back a little.
I wish Ford had put the adjustable pedals in this. I am 6’4” and I LOVE the idea of gas saving but really want and need headroom and legroom after driving a Toyota for years. It’s the one thing that makes me leery of this. I have terrible knees and driving with knees constantly bent isn’t an option.
That would be awesome. We had the car seats in the back this weekend and I was wishing for that
Have a 2023 lariat hybrid. My only real complaint is to have to keep setting to Eco mode every time i turn on. Doesn't save settings. Other than that, no problems. Love it. See you finally got your Maverick. Congrats
Yeah I stab that little button every time. One, two, three, four quick presses to get it to eco mode
They haven't fixed that yet!!! I had a 22 ..same issue
Look up the My Maverick auto switcher. It switches the car automatically to eco mode every time you turn on the car and since I've set mine up I never have to switch to eco mode because it does it by itself.
@@aznhomig Thanks for the tip! I found it eventually here www.mymavmode.com/home
Interesting I didn’t have that problem
Had the same problem. You can adjust the seat several inches lower.
Regarding seat covers.. you do know there are airbags in the front passenger seats.
Yup, the seat covers are made to work with them!
Do you hear a high pitched tone from the engine at times?
There’s definitely a tone from the hybrid system yeah. I actually like the regeneration sound, kind of reminds me of the Jetsons. Do you?
Oh yeah that's cool....I'm talking about noise from the engine /motor. Maybe a 5khz tone as the truck accelerates.
I can't stand the "reviews" that are just regurgitation of the spec sheet from Ford. Thanks for the actual review!
That little door in the bed looks like a mailbox lock would fit on it if you could pop off that latch
Look at you! Saving the seats for the second owner! Why?
I'm thinking about getting a ranger but might look at the maverick now. I also have a f150.
Second owner might be my own kids, ha!
I was really tough on the seats working in construction with my last truck so I don't want to ruin them.
Yeah its hard to argue with the running costs
I cant decide between xl or xlt is there really many differences
Compare what's on the Ford website: www.ford.com/trucks/maverick/models/?intcmp=vhp-seconNav-modselect
The XL is awesome because it's so cheap, but the XLT does add some nice to have features.
The XLT is the best buy if you drive a lot and like comfort.
Glad you enjoy your Maverick! I just logged 200 miles on my 2024 Black Eco Boost XL, no options save the $100 hitch. Already hauled 800 lbs of pellets in the bed , the rear barely dropped, love it!
Man that’s the best value spec for sure
They pull trailers extremely well. In tow/haul mode you don’t even realize you are pulling a trailer.
Mine is on the Train for the 7 of February. It is a xlt luxury package . My optional rear window will not be in cluded . This makes me unhappy.😢
They modified your order? That stinks!
@brendan drives my wife got me a gator cover when I wanted a better one I know the video is almost a year old but I gotta say that gator one is great
A guy i know got the ford soft for maverick and he used his points and it was short money also its easy on and off when he needs the full bed
You can't easily take off a metal one
We have a convertible wrangler and the reality is we just don't leave anything in car that i care about if it got stolen and the same would hold true for pickup bef
I may consider a softy
i do not understand why ppl talk about maverick is small. it is the smallest truck from Ford, if you want a bigger one, buy f150 or something else, it suppose to be a city truck
Tis quite smol
I guess it's a pet peeve of mine, but what about the little cubbie on the right side of the radio display? What do you put in it? It bugs me to constantly see it and not know what to do with it. I think I'm the only one who is annoyed by that thing. Why is it there? What purpose does it serve? Does anyone else talk about it? Great video, btw!
No I think most people are annoyed by it. There’s no use for it unless you buy a 3d printed mount to put in there.
They get rid of that useless space on the 2025.
I bought the bed cover from my dealership. The price was $400.00. By using my points, I paid only $216.00 installed
There are side airbags in the front seats. You DO NOT WANT Seat-covers of any kind!!!!!
Seat covers have been air bag compatible almost as long as cars have had airbags.
bison tri-fold tonneau cover is best for dollar and cant be broken in with a box cutter like the soft ones.
Amazon my have hard cover for maybe $6-700. Hard cover no need lockable side storage.
Thanks Steve! Strange your truck is still sitting there! Maybe there was a slow down around the holidays 🤷♂️
Based on your comment I want to make a test video verifying your claim about sport mode! Thanks for the idea!
Perfect use case
Tow/haul doesn’t shift as aggressively using higher rpm’s. It also downshifts pretty aggressively to engine brake your vehicle and your load.
I think the Mavericks with the ecoboost engines are underrated on tow capabilities. I can pull big hills pulling a trailer and the engine doesn’t even have to downshift. I get 20mpg towing which is way better than what I’m used to.

did you say you were 6ft 5 sir?
Yup!
I think ill be fine if I get one then! haha@@brendandrives
I picked out a hard tri1fold for $460 on Amazon.
Rolling one, can't leave anything in the bed even on a quick trip.
Make a 3D printable Lid with Lock. Give back to the community.
Is the 2024 refreshed at all compared to the 2022/2023?
Does it have anything new?
Nothing significant. In fact they took away the keypad on the drivers door so it’s a step backwards IMO!
Odero bed cover hard folding 450 amazon
Rough country hard cover
I don't care if passengers are comfortable - I will never have any beyond the front seat. Four doors are a waste. Every complaint is a whine about 'convenience', not anything with the truck.
1,000 miles in a month you drive alot that’s what it made for bro
Up to 2100 today!
I love when people admit they haven't used their truck as a truck. WHY buy a truck then??? Get an SUV
This is cheaper than SUV
So where is the AWD Hybrid Ford promised for 2024?
!
I never saw any official announcements from Ford claiming that truck would exist but it sounds great!
2025
Of course it’s small vs your F150 😂. It’s not supposed to be anywhere near a full size truck in any way. Stop comparing it to something it’s not meant to be duh 🙄
Slow down on your delivery. You’re talking so fast I’m getting tired 😪
Otherwise good review.
Fair enough!
Sounds like you needed a full-size truck having kids and all the things you do doesn’t look like the Maverick really fits your style
I just want a small truck, my last Toyota tundra was smaller than the modern tacoma which is silly. Every vehicle has gotten absurdly large. Soccer moms driving huge SUV’s that they have no idea how too drive. Lifted f-150 that never leave the pavement.
Sure thing ricer fan boi
I guess most the "cons" you have won't exist if you paid less for an XL 😅
I think I'll keep my f150 super crew and just take delivery of the Mav with financing or cash.
Even an XL f150 is not cheap, then I'll have the same issue as with my current f150 being too nice to go off road 😅
It's why I'll only get XL maverick, higher trim doesn't offer any comparable equipment level as higher trim f150 anyway. Paying 40k for an escape with bed is just too much for me.
I never understood seat covers you spent all that money on nice leather and then you cover it up.
Soft bed covers are useless..,can be cut and anything taken
Buys top line maverick and covers the seats…
💪🙈
Con: Apple CarPlay does not fill up the whole screen available
Hmmm I think it does… going on a 300+ mile drive tomorrow so I can check on that
Just double touch the screen you want to maximize and it does
Uh....everything has went up.
@paulhoffer3123
Amazon. A tri fold for 159 bucks.
Tundra? Really…
That backseat seat cover is horrible
Its functional but super annoying
