DONATE? - Dear followers! It is great fun having a successful channel, thanks! But it also costs a lot of time and money. I do not get any compensation from the Dutch Railways. While UA-cam spams my videos with commercials, they get rich while I am doing all the work. Did you know that, according to this channel’s statistics, a single viewer has to watch 75 minutes to generate only 0,01 USD? In Belgium, at a station, a star is lightened when the train is allowed to run. We give 5 stars for your awesome video: *****
Haha! Thanks!
That train looks massive!
It looks like that because the cab is high up
@@SG-tq2vystill makes it look bih
You haven't seen a north American locomotive lol
@@snug-fibbage7441 if someone is watching things like this they must know about American locos
(Especially amtrak)
I was just thinking the same!!!
What amazing graphics and shadow details in the beginning, I said as I was watching a train simulator video previously... :D Next gen graphics indeed.
Ride looks so smooth and comfortable..😃😃
Super super super honourable Mr. sorry,Train driver .Heartily congratulations
Thank you fro Sharing this ride with me.
Looks awesome I love trains
Amazing, it powers up for 1 minute and the 5 minutes cruising without using power.
Absolutely amazing
this is my dream, very cool ❤🎉
Very good video. love it! thanks
Prachtige film!
Wow amazing cab and so high up
Perfeito, ótimo vídeo.
Another great video, love the view from an ICM. Bedankt, Meester :-)
Graag gedaan!
Cant believe how high you're sitting, that must be a massive locomotive!!
POV is the best
looks like a cool space ship
In 2022 was mijn laatste rit. Pa en Ma ❤.
I know that this may be a kind of a longshot and once again Do apologize if I may have asked this before on this channel, but do you happen to have a lets call it a tutorial video showing how everything works inside of the cab of the train and what each thing is? Thanks again...
Ns would kill me if I would post a video about that.
i love it!
😊
Wow, amazing view

Thank you!
I love your video
Can you teach me how to ride a train
25:37 What's this device you use?? is it a some sort of a navigator or way points??
It is the Rail Pocket: it shows the time table etc.
On long train drives in the morning, are you allowed to bring food and coffee into the cockpit?
Yes, need coffee in morning ;-)
Wow amazing
24:25 Nice tutorial on starting up. Other than that the stations seem pretty empty.
ovi Train stations usually are pretty empty in the Netherlands. We have the third busiest train network in the world, so everything needs to be on time and flowing. This is why there never really are a lot of people hanging around on the platforms, they usually can board the train immediately since there barely are any delays.
And if you still have to wait for a train because you’re too early, you missed it, or there is a delay, then u can hang around in the shopping area underneath the station. Almost every larger (3 lines or more) station in the Netherlands has one, if not under then next to the platforms.
Awesome
earned new sub❤
in Finland we need to push putton every Time when Sound comes in speakker if you dont push it its make sound again then train gonna brake and stop its have made thats why at driver cant fell a sleep
Kippenoma It does actually make a sound if you don’t press it often enough. As a reminder to do so ofcourse.
Much better than UK railways.
tres lent
A question. Why is the train is tall wait I think it's the one with the green and yellow thing
apologize if you have answerd this alread, but when you first enter the drivers cab, just at the top of the steps, what is that Black wheel for?
Parking brake.
@@TrainDriversPOV Heck of alot different than the pull-up handle that I have in my car or those older ones where you just push that pedal all the way to the Floor to engage...LOL
mooie video meester!!
Bedankt!
Looks like the best job!
🤔🙃
Printed under the big handle on the left hand side the driver keeps moving, is the word BEDRIJSKEUZE. I typed it into Google translate and it came back as "Company choice". That makes no sense in English. What's it for?
"In bedrijf" means "in operation". With this lever you can switch between different kinds of operation: driving, park and cleaning. Cleaning is the same as park with de difference that heating, lights and doors are active - for the cleaning crew.
Why does this cab seem so cozy?
But... what if you have to go to the bathroom? 😣
Good planning is the key.
Some trains have auto pilot so they could use the restroom, Or, do something else.
if you ever played online multiplayer games you know how to
Holy crap, what loading gauge is that train?!
why is the cab so high up?
Passengers could walk to a coupled trainset before this system was removed.
@@TrainDriversPOV very interesting
I suppose you make something like 8 or 9 hour workdays.... On a normal job, you get an ONE hour break and a short break of 15 or 30 minutes... How do you do that driving a train?
Shifts can be as short as 6 hours and as long as 9-plus. You have breaks between each train, and always an official break of at least half an hour.
0:21 I didn't know that would be so high up
Google "ICM train". very interesting design
the cab is raised because under the cabs there used to be gangways, but they were sealed shut due to issues sadly :(
Ahh do you know what issues i cant really think of one myself?
Picadilli There were issues with coupling trainsets and connecting these gangways in freezing weather. I have seen it a couple of times myself that the gangways could not be connected after coupling the trainsets. The devices had somehow become frozen. This of course led to delays! So the gangways were removed when the trains underwent a big overhaul from 2006 onwards.
Likes a Spaceship 👍
Just noticed that this cabin looks more like plane cockpit 😂. And why engineers put cabin so high?
There was a "walk through head" underneath the cabin: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NS_Intercity_Materieel
Bent u dezelfde persoon als Cabview Holland?
Once at track speed, you pop her into neutral, how far would she coast?
Far. You can get an idea of this in this video: ua-cam.com/video/y5gLZ4AdaaY/v-deo.htmlsi=N5sj8SwKaDjsVJn0
why ppl think is so difficult? the train automaticaly shows you max speed allowed, and I think the tracks are preset by the rail system you dont have to do anything but press breake or accelerate and open dors.
I can understand why you think that. Of course, there is much more to that.
Guys if you watch train simulator in real life, this is it
at 18:53, you had a light with a number 6(?) underneath it. What did that mean?
Slow down to 60 kph

❤️👍😊🇹🇭 leuke
what would be this lever on the right where he moves all the time? but does not change the train speed.
Lever on the right is for braking.
@@TrainDriversPOV sorry, I would mean in the left ..: I realize when you move it the ampere gauge pointer increase. Would be like a Throttle?
@@brunnosouto6526 Yes, throttle.
What train is that...
ICM aka Koploper anno 1976 , NS Nederlandse Spoorwegen
The cockpit view looks like a boeing 747 cockpit view
how do you know when the next station is and what speed to have and why do trains pass red lights and don't stop?
Trains do not pass red lights, where did you see that? We know where stations are becaus e we have to learn every detail before we can go there.
Red lights you see in the video are for other tracks.
afaik, there is route learning for new drivers and they have to remember every detail on route including stops
Becose the train automaticaly shows you max speed allowed, common sense when 60,40 is clearly a station where you stop.
Here, where I live, trains have a screen that shows everything about the line... It's like the HUD on Train Simulator, it shows the distance to the next stop, your speed, the color of every light, etc
Why is the interface of the cockpit in Dutch? I thought that everyone in Holland undertands English.
Dutch is our native language.
@@TrainDriversPOV it is a dying language. So start adept yourself to English.
who said it is a dying language and if everyone understands english doesn't mean we have to ditch our native language.
Just wondering.. in front of the cabine - before heading up - there is a 2nd door in the nose part, what's up in there?
To answer your question: ua-cam.com/video/U32KnpJ0ERw/v-deo.html

the train looks tall at the beginning compared to the train beside it
It is.
Am i the only one who is in shock by how tall the train is...

21:27 was a close one
Sorry bro I don't have Train drive road Trip I don't have see again

doesnt look like you will have time to play candy crush, while driving a train...
I am not a gamer anyway ;-)
As much as I appreciate the view and use of the controls, the head camera is too unsteady and disconcerting.
