would be interesting to see this expanded to a multi-PI race, with all the cars limited to something like "1:10 power-weight ratio", with say the minimum weight dropped to 1000lbs and 100 horsepower, then including higher classes where some cars might run a racing truck with 1000hp and 10,000lbs, and cars in between with 300hp in 3000lbs. the ratio will probably need tweeked to give the best racing, but I think the concept would be cool
Especially for trucks I think it should be horsepower or torque, neither can go over the limit. I think the power should also be 5% instead of 10% so 1000 lbs gets 50hp or 50 ft lbs.
@@shadow105720 the restriction of torque doesn't make sense since horsepower is one of the variables that generates the horsepower figure itself meaning diesel engines would have to find some magical way to lose torque and gain RPM or they would have to be swapped.

This must be the least competitive build Alex has had for a long time. Even ignoring street furniture incidents, his best lap was never better than 5th in any race. Honestly sums up the '81 Scirocco. I love the car but I've never been able to make it very competitive in Forza. It's just become one of those cars I keep stock for cruising around.
That no steering bug has happened to me in horizon 5, where the car just RANDOMLY doesn't turn But it only seems to happen on the controller not my Wheel
My Porsche had good top end speed and was one of the quickest at the last track but was awful at any track that needed any low speed accel. It probably would have done well at the first circuit if I hadn't lagged out
I love how Alex can effortlessly say the ridiculous English names of race courses from FH4, but he doesn't even attempt the fairly easy Spanish names of the courses in FH5.
I had a trial race last week where i fell from the sky like gliscor did. First time it had happened to me. Sh4t myself when we came back round to the line and every other car that was in the race was just sitting there 🤣🤣
The Morris had the best power to weight ratio here, but it was decidedly middle of the road tbh. Awful to drive at some tracks, just not aerodynamic enough for others 😔

@@TheHengeProphet You're thinking of the sport transmission, not street. Actually, in these lower classes, adding it usually drops PI a few points despite adding final drive adjustability and sometimes extra gears.
I had the same problem with a controller I got not too long ago. I was able to pop off the side and get under the trigger with a bit of alcohol on a cotton swab to clean it up. It's a bit of damping foam/rubber that will either degrade (if it's old stock) or have excess adhesive that causes the trigger to stick.
I had an interesting idea for a video. A class racing but you must build cars for each other(you have to make the car as bad as possible.) Would be interesting to see what sort of ideas people come up with.

huh I've experienced a lot of bugs in forza, especially this new one, but never lost steering randomly. Must be a controller issue. I did recently lose rumble after an online race though.
I had a problem with the triggers sticking as well on an Xbox Series controller. The problem lies in tiny foam pads that soften the impact of the trigger on the body as they have been prone to sliding down after a lot of use and exposing the adhesive which can make the triggers stick. My solution was popping off the bottom handles, and removing the foam pads and cleaning off the adhesive with some sort of adhesive remover. It fixes the problem but the downside is that your triggers now make more noise and hit the body of the controller. Its a problem I hope Microsoft addresses.
im interested in your decision making process to make / modify the cars for these races. For example, do you modify for power, or weight and your tyre choices
It's the best show that "feel of speed" is fucked in FH series. Driving 90mph in shitboxes of FM4 feels like entering new dimension. Driving 90mph in shitboxes in FH5 feels like parking lot speeds. I would love to see you try your hand at some "proper" racing classes, similar to real world classes. However, it can demand a bit of balancing, to ensure good racing. I think you did something similar on FM6 or 7 with hatchbacks, if I recall correctly?
It's so odd watching what seems to be an 80's era VW coupe racing against a 50's era Porsche, a 30's era Ford, Herbie the love bug, and a plethora of vehicles I can't even identify. Is it just like a HP to weight ratio class and anything else goes?

One idea for a challenge you can do in FH5 is pick the shortest circuits and make everyone race S2 or S1 cars.
What if instead of having multiple restrictions, the only restriction was 100hp. So you guys can come up with the lightest car possible at any PI.
Tonight on failrace, Alex is annoyed, Alex is annoyed aaaand Alex is annoyed.
Diesel engines should do well in these races with their general low HP high torque setups
I'm guessing you didn't mess much with gearing ratios, which given the power and speeds involved could make a huge difference.
Wouldn't it require an upgraded gearbox in order to adjust gear ratios? If so, that would be hard to do and keep the vehicle in D class.
