Ignore what i said about the Clio being AWD, of course this was only 2wd and i had managed to completely forget that part by the end of the video (well done me haha) so the clio was still 2wd but running completely different tyres to the rest of us
The Clio was front wheel drive, stock tyres, ~900kg and ~215hp. The reason i had full aero was that in lower classes it usually drops about 15pi from the car due to drag. Even tuned all the way down it really limited my top speed but the extra high speed stability was worth it i think. Also, I *was* on race brakes, unlike Alex, and it really helps when defending.
I tend to stay away from S2 and X because I simply don't have the reaction time needed. That said A, S1 and B are my favorites in that order. Of course playing online is a different matter, where the higher classes unfortunately seem to attract rammers.
@@beardedgeek973 Higher speeds in games translates into less strategy, more harmfull contacts, emphasize issues with driving model and leads to races being hotlap competition. I've had best experiences online racing in "slow" cars in every game that allowed/encouraged lower classes in multiplayer.
I wonder if you could do a video on how much tuning matters in that game. Build a car, run it on a track with no tuning, then run it again with 5 minutes of tuning, then run it again with as much time tuning it as you like, and see how the times compare.
Despite the minor/micro mistakes in the last race, it was a fantastic tango between you and Leopard. The final lap was absolutely spectacular to watch. All the crisscrossing and positional changes. Very exiting stuff.
I think C class and B class always have a lot of variety, as you always have to have some sort of limitation to stay at that PI, or be mediocre everywhere.
I’ve definitely felt the steering thing you talk about where the game just doesn’t give you the steering lock you’re inputting. It’s so jarring that I’ve been doing a lot of my races from the interior camera, because I can at least see when the steering wheel inside the car isn’t turned far so I can see when it happens and react to it sooner :( I find I don’t have the issue on dirt very often at all but pavement, yes, both online and single player.
This steering lock issue is well known to me. Had it happen in many racing games, ever since I laid my hands on a controller with analog sticks - even on the N64. The issue isn't really game related, but a quirk of the analog sticks. You think you have put it completely to the side (left or right), but in fact, you missed the outmost edge by a hair, slightly pointing up or down while steering.
Sorry if this sounds needy, but it would be amazing if your main crew would each post their average lap time over maybe five laps on their favorite circuit in a few classes, so us scrubs would have something to shoot for. Zipper and Deathstrike too..... it would be a great educational tool for tuning as well.
Once again recommending that instead of different surfaces, you go for a mix of highly technical and top speed tracks with similar surfaces, till FH5 gets figured out a bit more. Seems like it would make for better racing.
Click See More for spoilers on my end So I brought a 1953 Corvette that had two problems. It has 221hp which is an alright amount in C class but it weighs 2900lbs so the acceleration wasn't that great. On top of that I didn't have the PI to put in a race gearbox so I was stuck with 5 very long gears instead of 6 or 7 shorter ones. However since I was on offroad race tires it meant that I was pretty fast offroad as seen in race 2. Despite my lack of acceleration I could still catch up to Alex in the corners. Edit: So In race 3 I genuinely didn't know it was raining. I play on PC with all the graphics settings turned off or to the lowest so for me I just thought Alex set the time of day wrong. In race 4 I was busy typing in the Xbox Party and didn't see the race notification show up. I'm back for race 5 though.
I love theses lower class races that aren’t 4wd or awd there so much variety of cars you never see and I feel like the racing is more fun and just closer in general ,, long time watcher love the content please keep it up 👍
So did some testing tonight on different street builds and did some hot laps at Playza Azul circuit. Test Mule was a 65 Ford Mustang. First Build was on semi slicks, rear aero, about 2200 pounds, and around 400 horsepower with the LS Swap and gave it a base tune with Forza Tune. All cars were built to A Class 800 PI. Got about a 1:12 after a few laps. This was on dry pavement. The second test was almost the same build and only major difference was areo. Even without areo I was able to get almost the same lap times once I was comfortable with the skidish rear end. No adjustment of tuning, only difference was the rear wing. Built the same car again. The changes made to the build were adding rear aero again and changing tires to Sport and adding power until I had about 600 horsepower, and despite my best efforts, even with an extra 200 horsepower and even less weight then before and could not manage anywhere close to 1:12. Managed to get a 1:14 and that is driving my ass off, balls to the wall. Even when building I noticed the simulated stats showed that the 600hp build was slower then the 400hp car, though it had much more top speed. Tires make a far more pronounced change in performance then you may think. If you are thinking about more power, invest in handling instead. Power makes you faster on the straights, more grip makes you faster everywhere. I will consider doing more purpose built cars then having this street car that does good all around.
I seriously wanna see a challenge where y'all try to build to a certain class (obviously you guys choose) but where everyone is on nothing but drag tyres(tyre widths included) and as much power as said class will allow. So no brakes, no handling/weight modifications.
The lighting on fh5 is simply terrible: in the cathedral circuit race, even though everyone has their headlights on there is no light coming out of them whatsoever? How??
Will there be new Beam videos? Like another rally with different cars to measure their times? I loved that content but you seem to have given up on Beam in general. :(
for a game wherein car-building is so important*, fh5 doesn't really provide much information to guide your decisions. as far as i'm aware - and i might haz the dumb - there's no way of looking at a vehicle's native power, mass, torque etc. prior to buying it. i enjoy the puzzle aspect of figuring these things out - but even in older, simpler games like gran turismo 4, the game would let you know some basic physical things about a vehicle before investing in it. *important for PvP at least
Am I the only one who really can't get into watching the Forza horizon 5 videos? Gimmie back Edinburgh. They should have done an expansion to either more of Scotland or added a good chunk of England.
Your videos are good quality but it might be the time you should watch WRC not f1 watching your offroad racing is burning my eyes you have the skill but not the attitude
Dude... there is no point in charging into the back of people...delay your acceleration slightly and you might be able to actually go around people, some of it is traffic yes, but a large part of it is also how You drive in traffic and how you tackle traffic, I know because I used to have the same issue in general in racing games, the problem was anticipation. You have to anticipate that some one is going to be in your way More than you do. You will find ways to keep the speed more often that you do, I can tell from where you position the car in corners, its the same issue I used to have...Know you can reduce the impact of this by being sharper about where you position your car (you are good at this defensively , in fact very good at it, so I am certain you can do the same in attack, but currently your car positioning in attack could be a lot better) I noticed this a while ago to be honest. Great videos though, be more aggressive with car position, and assume peeps will be in the way
I'm not a race driver but that seemed extremely lame driving you pushing the outside car right into the wall, what you thought he can break if he wants, yet what do you say when you dislike a driver you talk about kicking them from the race. Now to be fair I have not seen you like that lately but still, you forced the other car into the wall and you talk about leaving room for the two cars, fuck that he says if I give him the room he will pass me and I will get 5th, to hell with that. Hmmm, good sportsmanship seems to be thrown out with the bathwater.
Maybe everyone else likes to listen to you whine about the race, but it would seem that everyone else has the same issues you have so to me I'd say two words, please stop. I know I say that and then everyone will complain, that you don't talk enough, so feel free to ignore me :)
Ignore what i said about the Clio being AWD, of course this was only 2wd and i had managed to completely forget that part by the end of the video (well done me haha) so the clio was still 2wd but running completely different tyres to the rest of us
How do you come up with some of these challenges?
Is it really a FailRace episode without _something_ going wrong? 😁
The Clio was front wheel drive, stock tyres, ~900kg and ~215hp. The reason i had full aero was that in lower classes it usually drops about 15pi from the car due to drag. @FailRace
You guys should be a challenge where you make Purley straight line / drag cars, but take them on twisty and offroad circuits.

That ziper guy missing a checkpoint and coming back to win is kind of impressive.
I’m friends with him and can confirm, he is absolutely on rails, one of the fastest drivers I know!

He's fun to watch, love a VW

that final race was so good between the top 3, constantly changing positions & mostly clean.

You can turn it to simulation steering but then it will always give you the lock if you go the whole way on a controller
Is that on xbox or pc?
@@shadow105720 I am on simulation steering on an Xbox One controller

Heres some advice. Don't use a sprite
if there was more dry circuits I coulda performed so much better lol. Shame.
