Literally just had this happen to me this morning I made it to work with a jump & I’m at work now but once I turn my car off I’m praying I can get it started again leaving later today. I haven’t had any signs that my battery was dying or going dead so this is so random and strange that it says brake system problem if it’s the battery but I’m going to go get my battery checked if I can get it started after work. This just happened to us today. Found a ton of corrosion built up on the battery terminals. Cleaned that up and tried to charge it but no go. Got a new battery and the car started up. Error messages cleared up after I started driving the car. Good to go.
This happen to me yesterday. But I got them all fix I got new tiers, alignment and some went away. Next was emission problems. Cleaned my battery and wires. Next I cleaned my engine bay and made sure all the hoses and electric clips were good! I went for the fuse box next and all plugs were good. Connected my battery and it started. Had to drive for the system to reset and so far everything is good.

I have a 2019 honda civic sport and this happened to me yesterday. my battery had no issues thus far but conveniently I gave it to honda for service and the next day my car won't start and was utterly dead. 10 days prior to this, they tested the battery and said it was in good condition. we tried jumping it using my friend's car but nothing happened. I think we did it wrong but I am not sure what I should do now because I can't drive it. After researching I can see so many people are facing this issue.
Remove your battery and go to Auto Zone or O'Reilly to check your battery or let them charge your battery. Did you check your battery with a volt meter and what was the reading of the voltage on your battery?

I had the same issue a couple years back but I was able to jump start the car and after replacing the battery everything was alright. But got the same issue today, jump starting didn't work, now I'm hoping it's a battery issue and nothing major 🤞. Gonna hit Walmart tomorrow to grab some of the instruments to check voltage (it'd be helpful if anyone can recommend the proper instruments). The worst part is that I'm stuck 700 miles away from the home, and towing here could cost $500 apparently (yay NYC). Any help or thoughts is gratefully appreciated.
I just went to autozone and got a new battery and it seemed to have fixed the problem! The autozone man said the battery literally was at 0.I've been running on the old one for about 4 years and 60k miles so it was about time for it be be changed.

Took my car for oil change, inspection, and tire rotation. Got car back and these ligths are on. Battery is good, tested at autozone. I tried disconnecting the neg battery terminal but will try and disconnect both and touch the connectors together to clear memory. WE have had this happen to my sons 2017 Civic twice. Yesterday being the most recent. When jumped, it starts right up. I checked the battery today and it read 12V. So i am not sure what is causing this problem. I have a 2016 Mazda 6 and when my smart brake light lit up on the dash, i added brake fluid and that has stopped it from coming on. The dealer also said my brake pads are low, and this could cause the light to come on.
Had this problem today with my wife's car it was low on brake fluid oil added some to proper level started right up did have to put booster cables on was not charged. Hope this helps
I have 2021 Crv and I have all of those lights plus a blinking D light. My scanner shows these codes U0100, U0038, and U0402 and U0122 I replaced the battery. Any idea what is the problem?
U0100 code is a faulty battery. U0038 - Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector pins. U0402 - stands for Invalid Data Received from TCM. This code is logged when modules on the data network are receiving implausible data from the transmission control module (TCM). U0122 - indicates a communication problem between the vehicle's electronic control module (ECM) and traction control module (TCM), which can cause several symptoms like check engine light, traction control warning light, traction control issues, erratic vehicle behavior, and harsh shifting. Possible your dead battery is causing all these error code, change the battery first and then scan your vehicle again.
2016 Honda Civic Ex-L. I was doing a brake fluid flush for the first tire (passenger rear) but didn't top off the reservoir when I was pumping and bleeding the brakes that's when the warning light came. It said brake fluid is low and other messages like "brake system problem", "Anti-lock brake system problem (ABS)", "electric braking problem" etc... So I turned off the car, topped off the brake fluid reservoir fully, and tried to restart the car but besides flashing lights, it wouldn't start. I hear clicks but the engine just won't turn over. I can see the battery was getting low (headlights and interior system lights were very low compared to when they're fully charged). I'm not sure if the issue is with the battery, the starter (fuse issue), or if its because I have not done the brake flush for all 4 tires. I waited an hour and tried to open the car, but keyless battery won't open the car. So dead battery then? The car hasn't even hit 50,000 miles and been serviced in timely manner, very frustrating issue.

9 times out of 10 it’s a weak battery or bad alternator. EASY SOLUTION: Clean corrosion off the battery terminals (Cola and a toothbrush work really well), get a jump, run/drive the car about 20 mins. Done!

Try to disconnect both positive and negative from the battery and then put both positive and negative together for like a minute to reset and then connect wires to the battery. Do It At Your Own Risk and must do it correctly.

Before y6ou go tto the dealer check yyour brake fluid, brake wear, Before any of these, check to see if the terminals are clean. My wife just checked the charge saw dirt on 1 of the terminals, cleaned it and it turned on, turned it off and started again fine. The system went back to normal :)

I changed the battery (costco) and thats when it seemed to start having this issue. I tried reseting the car by disconnecting the battery still an issue.
You will need to disconnect both terminals on the battery then touch the red and black cable together for like a minute to reset the ECU then connect back to the battery again.
idk what happened with mine but I jump started mine and all those lights came on so I drove for a bit and after a while each light started to go away. By the time I arrived at autozone all the lights were gone.

I have a 17' civic and it was giving those "break system problem" and I even replaced the battery for a brand new but still have it on, for example the ACC light, Collision Milligation, Road Departure" came on and i don't even know what to do at this point.. Remove the battery from both terminals and then while positive and negative are disconnected touch both cables together for like a 30 seconds to drain any residual voltages and then re-connect back both terminals to the battery and start your car again.
I used to love Honda. I bought a 2017 Honda Civic EX in November of 2021. It's left me stranded twice with not starting. I'm about ready to trade this heap in. It only has a little over 55,000 miles on it.

Happened in my 2019 accord. Battery was good, it was the brake light switch that went bad. Changed it and no problems since. Now, my moms 2016 civic is doing this same thing as well. About to go see if it's her battery (hopefully it is).

Did AutoZone tested with an OBDII scanner or just a voltage meter? There are a variety of reasons your Honda Civic won't start, the most common 3 are a dead battery, an alternator problem, or failed starter. You might want to check your starter or push button is going bad or check your key FOB remote battery.

Disconnect your battery and touch positive and negative cables together for about 1+ minutes to clear ECU. What's your battery voltage? If it's too low then it will prevent your car from starting up and Brake system error message.
Did you reset it by disconnecting positive and negative cables from the battery and then touch both positive and negative together for like a minute or two or three? Reconnect positive and negative cables back to the battery and all of your dashboard lights should be reset, if not your car might have additional problems.
So I’m having this problem as well at first when I pressed the brake and tried to turn it on it would dim all the dashboard light and the care would go dark went to a auto store got a battery when removing battery negative terminal was crazy lose slid right off when tried to tighten it will still be lose and positive terminal won’t fit on battery also the high lights stay on while being in the off position any suggestions?
You might want to check the battery, both posts should be the same size unless someone switched out your car cables. Your car have been in an accident before? Check all the wiring for the high and low beams.
My 2019 CRV did this 11 months ago after 2.5 -3yrs. They wanted me to by a new battery with a 5 year warranty. As if my brand new car battery should only last less than 3 years. I had to advocate for myself over and over again until they claim they would give me a new battery. Here I am 11 month after getting a “new” battery from Honda with the same problem,I had to get jumped Saturday and Monday morning to get to work. I bought this car bc Honda is problem free low maintenance especially new. My mom has a Murano didn’t change her battery till 6 years later.Wt is going on with Honda. I have an appt with Honda today.

When your car's brake warning light comes on, it tells you something is wrong with the braking system; it can't be put off or ignored until later-the price for doing so could be very expensive and very dangerous. Unless your battery is low and caused all of these error messages & warnings.

@macdaddypimpping I did come to find out the 125 fuse was burn then switch it and then took it to the dealership they replaced battery sensor, and they told me the e booster brake is fried ,so it hard to put the car on drive but I found a way lol and the break is hard so I got the e booster brake from a savage yard the dealership wanted 2400 for it

That 100 month warranty is a joke. Honda will say nothing is wrong with the car so they don’t have to honor it. They will say you don’t drive enough of far enough, but they will be happy to sell you a new battery.
Mine is I have all the pop up faults but my car runs with no problems I just can't use my remote start its a 2017 civic EX-T CVT the guys at the mechanics shop used a code reader said one of my cylinders is misfiring so they replaced my sparks and on of my coil packs but it didn't fix it so now they want to replace a fuel injector I just wish we could find out what's wrong so I can stop bringing it to the shop it's under warranty so it's free but then I'm without a car until they finish the work
Contact Your Local Honda Dealer, if it's fuel injectors they will replace them for free due to known issues extended to 150,000 miles or 10 years warranty.
When you see corrosion on the positive terminal, this means the battery may be overcharging. The substance can be either greenish blue or white depending on the type of metal of the terminal ends. If the substance is greenish blue, its copper sulfate.
Check your battery voltage, if needed to be replace for a new one then you will need to remove/disconnect both positive and negative cables from the battery and touch positive and negative wires together (DO NOT CONNECT TO BATTERY!) for about 30 seconds to a minute to clear our any memory. Install a new battery then your car should be good.

Most likely it's the battery issue or low voltage, try to get a jump at nearby gas stations.

Fully charged automotive batteries should measure at 12.6 volts or above. When the engine is running, this measurement should be 13.7 to 14.7 volts.

Unfortunately, Honda is very sensitive to low battery which will trigger all types of warning when it detected battery is low.

Normally, you can ask Auto Zone to check and charge your battery to see if it can still hold a charge before spend your money on a new battery.

Did AutoZone test the battery with a battery tester, load tester or just a volt meter?

Just a heads up to anyone who has this issue - it’s the immobilizer. You need to turn it off in order to start the car.

idk what happened with mine but I jump started mine and all those lights came on so I drove for a bit and after a while each light started to go away. By the time I arrived at autozone all the lights were gone.
It could be too much current when you jumped your car that caused all the warning lights to come on.
2018 Honda Civic ex, todays the 1st day the “electric brake system problem” light went on & it was my brakes that made the light pop on. They are very low, brakes are making a rasping noise. I’m getting them changed out so hopefully the light goes away after

Happening to my 2019 Civic with less than 20k miles on it. This is ridiculous from a brand like Honda. Then they want us to pay a hefty "inspection fee" at teh dealership to figure what is going on here.
Inspection fees is getting higher and higher, that's how dealer make or rip off customers!

this happened to me today my 2019 Honda Civic... i turned on my car like i usually do, but while pushing the brake pedal & wouldnt let me step on it & the wheel wouldnt move neither the lights will flash & then will go off...

Hey! I have a 17' civic and it was giving those "break system problem" and I even replaced the battery for a brand new but still have it on, for example the ACC light, Collision Milligation, Road Departure" came on and i don't even know what to do at this point.. I tried all the possibilities and still came on.. Should I take it to the Dealer?.. Anyone?
Remove the battery from both terminals and then while positive and negative are disconnected touch both cables together for like a 30 seconds to drain any residual voltages and then re-connect back both terminals to the battery and start your car again.

Pretty strange because the battery isn’t relatively that low so I’m surprised that the car refused to start
I believe the newer ECU will required certain voltage to startup the car.

I used to love Honda. I bought a 2017 Honda Civic EX in November of 2021. It's left me stranded twice with not starting. I'm about ready to trade this heap in. It only has a little over 55,000 miles on it.

Happened in my 2019 accord. Battery was good, it was the brake light switch that went bad. Changed it and no problems since. Now, my moms 2016 civic is doing this same thing as well. About to go see if it's her battery (hopefully it is).

Did you unplug both positive and negative from the battery and jump(touch) both of the wires together for about a minute to clear the memory?

What if I took it to AutoZone to have them test the battery and alternator and they said they were both good but still having trouble?
Did AutoZone tested with an OBDII scanner or just a voltage meter? There are a variety of reasons your Honda Civic won't start, the most common 3 are a dead battery, an alternator problem, or failed starter. You might want to check your starter or push button is going bad or check your key FOB remote battery.

Disconnect your battery and touch positive and negative cables together for about 1+ minutes to clear ECU. What's your battery voltage? If it's too low then it will prevent your car from starting up and Brake system error message.

Did you reset it by disconnecting positive and negative cables from the battery and then touch both positive and negative together for like a minute or two or three? Reconnect positive and negative cables back to the battery and all of your dashboard lights should be reset, if not your car might have additional problems.

You will need to do a load test on your battery, just simply by checking voltage doesn't mean it's good. Summer times killed many cars' batteries.
So I’m having this problem as well at first when I pressed the brake and tried to turn it on it would dim all the dashboard light and the care would go dark went to a auto store got a battery when removing battery negative terminal was crazy lose slid right off when tried to tighten it will still be lose and positive terminal won’t fit on battery also the high lights stay on while being in the off position any suggestions?
You might want to check the battery, both posts should be the same size unless someone switched out your car cables. Your car have been in an accident before? Check all the wiring for the high and low beams.

My 2020 hybrid Honda CRV has the same problems.
My 2019 CRV did this 11 months ago after 2.5 -3yrs. They wanted me to by a new battery with a 5 year warranty. As if my brand new car battery should only last less than 3 years. I had to advocate for myself over and over again until they claim they would give me a new battery. Here I am 11 month after getting a “new” battery from Honda with the same problem,I had to get jumped Saturday and Monday morning to get to work. I bought this car bc Honda is problem free low maintenance especially new. My mom has a Murano didn’t change her battery till 6 years later.Wt is going on with Honda. I have an appt with Honda today.
I guess all new Honda Civic are having the same issues with the battery drained, my 2017 Honda Pilot battery still going but might need a new battery any time soon.

When your car's brake warning light comes on, it tells you something is wrong with the braking system; it can't be put off or ignored until later-the price for doing so could be very expensive and very dangerous. Unless your battery is low and caused all of these error messages & warnings.

@macdaddypimpping I did come to find out the 125 fuse was burn then switch it and then took it to the dealership they replaced battery sensor, and they told me the e booster brake is fried ,so it hard to put the car on drive but I found a way lol and the break is hard so I got the e booster brake from a savage yard the dealership wanted 2400 for it
This morning won’t start had to jump start and took it to the nearest shop, when I parked it it was dead again…. now they are charging my battery to see if my battery is good or not, honestly don’t want this happening again, my car is 2019 sport Civic

That 100 month warranty is a joke. Honda will say nothing is wrong with the car so they don’t have to honor it. They will say you don’t drive enough of far enough, but they will be happy to sell you a new battery.
Its break oil low... Just refill the break oil and all will be fixed
Mine is I have all the pop up faults but my car runs with no problems I just can't use my remote start its a 2017 civic EX-T CVT the guys at the mechanics shop used a code reader said one of my cylinders is misfiring so they replaced my sparks and on of my coil packs but it didn't fix it so now they want to replace a fuel injector I just wish we could find out what's wrong so I can stop bringing it to the shop it's under warranty so it's free but then I'm without a car until they finish the work
Contact Your Local Honda Dealer, if it's fuel injectors they will replace them for free due to known issues extended to 150,000 miles or 10 years warranty.

If the battery is directly from the dealer, Costco, Autoz Zone, or O'Reilly then they should be able to look it up on their systems.

This happened in my Honda accord 2019. I will try to jump the car
Check your battery voltage, if needed to be replace for a new one then you will need to remove/disconnect both positive and negative cables from the battery and touch positive and negative wires together (DO NOT CONNECT TO BATTERY!) for about 30 seconds to a minute to clear our any memory. Install a new battery then your car should be good.
So the solution to this problem is buy a brand new battery and replace it
And reset if needed.
Rest it
Reset it will not boost your battery to start your car.
