Fresh Towels arent they just the coolest cars ever? As for the stripes I have just seen too many of these cars with messed up stripes. Especially the front bumper ones. Each set of stripes is around $200. I plan on keeping this one for a while and dont want any stripe headaches. I have already had some people think this was just a normal Mustang with a gt500 front end. Love it.

It looks cleaner without them. They don't need stripes to look badass. Every other v6 or gt has stripes trying to imitate Shelby and it really waters down the look imo. There are some cool color combos when it comes to stripes that look good but to me they look cleaner without stripes. Less is more.
@GMONEY-xl5gu of course you can. I financed a 2007 gt500 in 2020 with over 100k miles. You gotta deal with credit unions not banks. They don't care about vehicle age they care about value. They also do much better appraisal wise vs most banks. They're fair.

So first off I love the car. I love that I bought it a year ago and it is worth more now then when I bought it. As far as Woodside credit they were able to get me a 10 yr loan on a 10 year old car with only 8,000 down so it made it possible to get my dream car. The rate was competitive for the time. However I found out they are just a middle man of sorts. 2 months after I got the loan they sold the loan to a different bank, so now I am with First Fed CU. Nothing changed on the rate or term, so its not a big deal. They make money on the first payment interest and they have an aqusition fee. I cant remember if it was 500 or 800, but thats how it works. All of our GT500s are 99% stock. We dont buy modified ones and all of our stuff has clean title histories.
Dont waste this car. Too many people do that. They are never gonna be the 60s cars. They made way too many of these cars and too many people waste them away thinking theyre gonna be worth so much money they aint gonna go up enough to be worth wasting the car. Not even close. Mod the thing and drive. You dont gotta mile it to death but do not waste that car trying to keep miles low. Id at least do intake long tube headers full exhauat, throttle body pulley and tune. You will like it even more. Change the ridiculous long 331 gears to 410 and put a real tire on it and see how much more you enjoy it. You dont gotta do much. You dont gotta mod it like crazy simple stuff can put you in the high 600 rwhp range. The gearing is stupid long you cant even use the gearing on the street. 410 is much brtter.
I beg to differ on the collectability of these cars. Im not going to rack the miles up but Im also not going to let this one sit. And as for mods this car is plenty fast for me and I am keeping it stock.
Shelby isnt the same without the stripes no matter how much you try to convince yourself you prefer it. The reason the stripeless is rare is because only a handful of morons picked the Shelby without its stripes. Whatever floats your boat dude. Our GT500 has white stripes on blue. Classic.
Sounds like you have a nice one! What are the options? Is it stock? How many miles? I am obsessed with these cars. This one was the color and most of the options I was looking for. It does have the sides stripes which were put on at the dealer or something as there is a certificate of side stripe install. Unfortunately there was no window sticker or certificate letter from Ford. So I was able to order those off of Fordshowparts.com . Great site! I honestly wouldn't not buy a car if it had the stripes. I just think they are potentially a lot of maintenance down the road. Also such a clean look without them. These cars are getting harder to find with low miles and unmolested so I felt this one checked off most of the boxes I was looking for. Also they are getting harder to buy (from a personal and dealer standpoint) as prices are going up and they are getting another model year older and getting harder to finance and they are entering that collector car territory. So kind of find the closest thing to checking all your boxes and hold on to it. Would have I liked track pack, glass roof, recaros and stripes? Sure, but they really weren't deal breakers for me. Ok now Im rambling. Insterested to hear the specs on yours. Cheers!
No it's rare because there are a bunch of idiots like you who think a Shelby has to have stripes to be a Shelby which is the dumbest shit I've ever heard. Less is more bro. The same guys who waste their cars away in garages afraid to put miles on them because they think they're gonna be worth so much money.. they won't they made way too many and too many people preserve them (aka waste them). They will never be the 60s cars value wise. No use wasting them away. Smh
