The way that "tough on crime" conservatives 180 to "no crime can be stopped, laws are pointless" anarchists the moment gun laws are brought up is so funny to me
Okay anarcho socialist here- We aren't anti-law. We're against laws that were specifically made in order to oppress people or if they were made to protect people from getting in trouble for doing something wrong. Unless they're ancap.. in which case yeah. For example: the war on drugs and the laws that came from that. They were made in a way to oppress marginalized communities Another example: murder. It's illegal. Not killing people isn't illegal to oppress people, it's illegal because killing people isn't good. So yeah murder staying illegal is a good thing. Another example: the 2008 supreme court hearing that determined that pigs aren't actually responsible for protecting people after a family was murdered. Those cops got off with a slap on the wrist while people suffered as a result and now no police officer can be held accountable for not doing their job. This is bad, we need this law to be removed.
i went to a private christian school growing up and it was VERY conservative. they told us about sexuality, went in-depth about how 'terrifying and grotesque' abortion is, told young afab people to 'treat their body right' for their future husbands & altered every single book we had to fit their narrative since PRE SCHOOL. i go to a public highschool now and the most my teachers have ever done is ask our pronouns on those about me surveys at the beginning of the year. the fact that these people think that every kid is going to transgender class and pronoun lunch in public school is so genuinely annoying.
i just started going to a private christian school last year, i went through elementary and middle in a public school and holy shit you couldn’t be more correct. the things that i am peached at on a daily basis is so beyond disgusting and deplorable. as an afab trans bisexual, every single day feels like i’m getting chipped away at, and i can’t imagine how it is for the others in that school who have gone there their whole lives. they are all so uneducated and genuinely lost they sound insane. i grew up very religious and now i don’t think i even believe in a god because of the shit i hear every single day. they all have bibles shoved so far up their asses they can’t have a single coherent thought that maybe people who don’t agree with them aren’t literally satan incarnate.
Oh dude I had a pretty much identical experience. Wasn't even told the dangers of doing drugs, just not to do them. Health class refused to mention tampons. The librarians daughter learned what a vagina was in senior year anatomy class, and then subsequently that she had one herself lmao
"The idea that death is apolitical is an excuse for people (...) to blame people for DYING" HOLY SHIT IVE NEVER HEARD IT SAID THAT WAY BRO THATS AMAZING
@@derekg5563 When someone dies, you blame their death on what caused and contributed to the death. Not a hard concept to understand. As ethan said, few premature deaths in the USA are apolitical, because most premature deaths are at least partially caused or contributed to by conservative policies.
As a trans woman, i really wish they'd drop the "trans women dominate sports" stereotype, too. I come home every night, and i crash so hard because I'm so exhausted from coming home and crashing IMMEDIATELY after having to DOMINATE three women's leagues every day! I can't even run to walmart without dunking on a woman's basketball team anymore! 😭

“Gun bans will only effect law abiding citizens” most disgruntled teens don’t have the breaking bad level connections and resources needed to buy an illegal gun smuggled from another country
It’s incredibly cheap and accessible to buy stolen guns, I’m obviously not an expert, but I’ve been around a lot of illegal/unregistered guns and that’s pretty much where they all came from
like "breaking bad level" connections and resources are required at all. i've had teens on telegram advertising illegal sales of glock pistols, locally, in my area. they aren't "smuggled." what a strange, flimsy argument
I love when conservatives concern troll about mental illness as if they would ever, in a million years, support legislation to improve access to mental healthcare.
@@Callimo ah ok you mean against policies which could offer acces to mental health care to more people. Sorry I am from Europe and I dnt know about it. I guess conservative are in favour of hospitals amd healthcare being private
@@YFL.111 Well yeah. The thing is, a lot of US conservatives are driven by fear and greed. They seem to believe that if the "undesirables" in their minds receive much needed care that's somehow taking away from what the conservative needs (whatever tf that means). Kind of like a "fuck you, I got mine" mentality. However, due do a steady diet of ever increasing extremist media and suspiciously right leaning conspiracy theory websites, forums, discords, etc, some conservatives are being fed very dangerous misinformation. It's what happened during the height of Covid. A lot of conservative covid deniers died and left their families with these massive hospital bills. They had no health or life insurance and their families were forced to make GoFundMe accounts to pay for basic necessities. But these folks would still rail against national healthcare, if only because "da Libs" would be getting it too🙄
As a teacher myself... What the actual fuck with that teacher sketch?! Teachers have a very strict code of conduct meant to keep kids safe and healthy at school. All of my education classes centered on how to understand the needs of individual students and provide those needs, BY CENTERING THE STUDENTS IN PLANNING, not the teacher. I'm even hesitant to mention that I have a boyfriend (who I live with) to my middle school students, because it's too personal. The teachers I've met are some of the most selfless people, devoted to making all kids feel safe and heard. It makes me sick that people like him think so poorly of us 🤦♀️
You mean you don't tell the kids your entire journey on how you realised you're heterosexual and white? Or whatever JP thinks teachers do, idk. I presume you're in America where you'd be much less compensated, and then you deserve frickin sainthood.
Right! Its hard to become a teacher, and there is a huge shortage. They never speak on pronouns and stuff until COLLEGE. They even probs have rules around that stuff at lower ed levels. I dont get how anyone thinks this exists; it wasnt like that when we grew up, why would you think this is happening rn in schools?? Lol we havnt changed the dress code and rules on hiring unhinged strangers 🤨 The only unhinged ones are the parents who then end up homeschooling.
"underlying mental health problems" Ohhhh this one pisses me off. I've had this argument with conservatives online and then asked "so you want to fund more mental health treatment" and was told "no! Their families should be the ones who pay for it!" So then I asked "ok so if it's all on the families like it is now, what will change" Of course they deflected to "why should my tax dollars pay for someone elses medical treatment?? It's not MY fault they have problems. That's what FAMILY is for" and then "And there's charities for people who don't have families who can pay" So literally what we have right now, but probably worse because they cut CMHs which right now legally every county has to have a community mental health department
My uncle feels this way about healthcare and it drives me crazy. He doesn’t want to pay for his neighbor to have surgery or anything. But when it came to his brother (my estranged father) overdosing and being in a coma with really no chance of ever coming off, he felt I was being too rash taking him off life support because he is “PRO LIFE”. My father was homeless on medicaid. Which we all pay for. 🙄 Having that thrown into my face when dealing with this decision, even as a healthcare worker myself… I will never. Ever forget him saying that to me.
They also ignore the fact that all countries have problems with mental health, but America is the only first world country where this consistently happens.
@@timetraveler7 For real they really believe we’re the best country but ignore that we are the laughing stock of the developed world. Sometimes I question how developed we actually are.

I love him bringing up murder being illegal in a gun control argument. By his logic, shouldn't murder be legalized since people are gonna do it anyway?
thats literally always my first comeback. like ok then lets make stealing, drugs, and murder legal. in fact why do we even have police? people who wanna do bad things will just do them

Right? Like if that exact conversation happened with a heterosexual teacher - kids would be like "hey teacher, who's that guy who's always dropping you off" and you would reply "oh that's my bf/husband" and the kids would be like "ohhh teacher has a bf/husband hehehe" and then move on - and no conservative would have any issue with that conversation. It's just when it involves a gay teacher, it's immediately "you're indoctrinated our kids to be gay 😡" What's even crazier is that I've actually seen conservative try and argue "no I would care about that as well, no teacher should be discussing their personal lives on the job EVER!" How delusional and/or homophobic do these people have to be to actually think (or even say, for the sake of the argument) they would give a shit if their kid's straight teacher happened to mention they have a spouse/partner to their classroom?
as someone who worked at an afterschool program for kids, we did a little "be nice, respect your own and others' feelings, call people what they wanna be called" spiel every morning. all it did was help kids know to ask for a break to cry if they got upset when they lost a game, and make em more likely to ask the long haired boys their pronouns. we had a couple of nonbinary kids and not one child cared more about that than making explosion noises when putting down their board game pieces.
I really think homophobia/transphobia has to be taught for the most part, because kids are innocent and don't really see anything wrong with two people of the same sex dating or whatever. Breaks my heart when they're indoctrinated into thinking that's wrong.
JP makes fun of declaring pronouns, but he'd probably threaten to unalive someone if they addressed him as "she" with one of his 20 assault rifles he's clutching like a string of deadly pearls. he makes me nauseous :(
So I had a lesbian art teacher from preschool all the way until fourth grade and honestly I didn't know she was a lesbian until like six months ago. My point is that she never talked about her sexuality with any of her students, and guess what?! A vast majority of her students are straight

The idea that a teacher could wear what he's wearing with no problem, when most schools will have a conniption if a girl shows off shoulders is the best part for me 😂💀
as a german hearing him talk about the third reich and the extent of suffering jewish people had to endure is so concerning and disrespectful. leading up to the holocaust, jewish people had their rights to have jobs, own property or even such simple things as joining chess clubs revoked; does he seriously believe that even IF germany still had no gun control at that point, jewish people would've still been allowed to purchase firearms? and if that was the case, what did he expect them to do with them?
I'm so glad I'm not the only one angry at this, he brings up history but then leaves out so much vital information that completely changes the situation. I can't speak for the other events he mentioned, but as a German myself I am genuinely angry at his representation of the Holocaust.

This is a small gripe in the grand scheme of things, but I think its kinda funny. So during that dumb swimming sketch, JP has a throwaway "joke" about lifting weights, which isn't really what helps swimmers become faster. You need lean muscle to swim because muscle is heavy and can cause you to sink. This is why bodybuilders don't make for fast swimmers. I'm a competitive swimmer and that part just really highlighted to me how little JP cares about swimming as a sport, right along with all the other transphobes.
He's basing it on a trump speech. Trump did some strange skit where he pretended to be a weak woman who couldn't lift weights and then pretended to be a trans woman who could lift weights and made the woman who couldn't lift weights lose in a swimming competition which made the weak woman's parents sad. Later in the same speech Trump talked about his plan to permanently end homelessness. Apparently we can just lock all homeless people up in FEMA camps. Because "they'll love it, homeless people love tents." and also because "we'll feed them, not good food but at least we won't let them starve to death". A lot of his "comedy" is just copying Trump's attempts to be funny. After that Trump announced his plan to directly take complete control of the entire us military in order to declare martial law and send them into any state to depose the governor and state legislature "next time they try anything". (Ie next time they refuse to invalidate the results of a free election) It's funny that he copied his whole trans swimming weight lifting champion skit from Trump but mr freedom lover doesn't have anything to say about literally locking all homeless people into camps or Trump taking direct control of the US military and using it to attack anyone who disagrees with him or refuses to commit crimes for him. I also doubt he's going to have anything to say about Trump's latest speech where he says we should destroy the us constitution. Then again according to JP only the 2nd amendment matters anyway.
That is absolutely not an nt or autistic issue. Are you trying to say you're more intellectual than "neuro typical" people? You are using the same argument as the heterophobia , racist towards white people, and sexist towards men arguments. These ideas are so ingrained into our minds because neurotypical people are the dominant demographic in human population, hence the name. Nobody is assuming that anyone is neurotypical, I know because people have done this to me before. It is hurtful, that isn't what this is though. as a jew, i cannot describe my extreme disgust for people like this. 6 million of my people plus another 6 million of POC and disabled people were killed. *it isnt about not being able to defend yourself, it is about hatred.*
I completely agree. My ancestors didn't flee to Iraq during the Armenian Genocide for malicious lies to be spread about their existence. Non-Muslims hadn't been allowed to own guns in the country for centuries. It was in 1908-14 that conscription began and many Armenians became armed. Some guns were taken after early losses blamed on Armenians, but they were still the most armed that they had ever been.
As a Jew, it’s so much worse. It’s about Hatred and willful Ignorance. There are people who wish minorities death because they do not understand them and choose not to educate themselves. Ignorance breeds hatred.
I love how he doesn't specify what kind of gun control was implemented in those examples. Apparently taking all guns away from citizens, requiring a licence for owning a gun, and requiring a background check to buy a gun are all on the same level and WILL lead to totalitarianism
same mfers who make laws like "ohhh you need to have an appointment with a councilor before you have an abortion" would lose their fucking minds if you had to do the same thing to get a gun, though in both cases you're playing with the potentiality of life and death . Give the ATF an inch and they'll take a mile. We've seen it time and time again, won’t Ever be enough. Should we require an ID to vote? It doesn’t completely block poor people. But the hurtles forced upon them are there. It will cut down those who should and shouldn’t vote. Should we require an ID to buy a gun? While it doesn’t completely block ownership, enough smaller laws like this can achieve the same.
Tbh I don't think the grooming argument about trans people has been "recently manufactured" so much as they took their unfounded argument about gay people and ctrlc ctrlv'ed it
A lot of transphobic rhetoric is just recycled homophobic rhetoric which itself is just recycled racist rhetoric. A good example is the fear around shared bathrooms/lockerooms.

If so, how, exactly? I would be curious about your specific description of the comedic elements at play and how they are effective or not effective. But yeah, people need to express viewpoints that the other side considers harmful, because otherwise we just have an echo chamber, and due to that, will never be able to figure out which side truly is harmful and which side just thinks that they are not the harmful one. Thus, by a continuous shifting of rhetorical focus, the enemies are at the same time too strong and too weak." "In such a perspective everybody is educated to become a hero." -Ur Fascism, Umberto Eco

The way that conservatives treat trans people also differs widely based upon if we’re afab or amab too. I’m a trans guy and i’m treated like a fucking joke. The misgendering I get is belittling and infantilizing. My trans gal friends on the other hand receive a much more violent treatment (just an example of what I’ve experienced- it’s different for everyone) but I really do think that conservatives have a special type of hatred for trans gals, same with drag queens. They see amab people in a really disgusting twisted light, calling them pedophiles and groomers and claiming their gonna attack women in bathrooms. That’s one fucked up side effect of the patriarchy if you ask me
You should read Whipping Girl by Julia Serano if you're interested in exploring this topic further. She talks about how many in our society have "effemimania," which is basically an obsession with/fear of femininity when it is expressed by amab folks. In her analysis, effemimania stems from misogyny, oppositional sexism, and cissexism. Oppositional sexism comes from the societal belief that maleness/masculinity and femaleness/femininity are mutually exclusive with no overlap. Cissexism comes from the belief that trans identities are inferior versions of their corresponding cis identities. Trans men experience cissexism and oppositional sexism, and potentially misogyny (not to mention infantilization) if the individual continues to gender them as a woman. Only trans women, however, experience oppositional sexism, cissexism, and transmisogyny. They are therefore at the intersection of multiple, powerful forms of hate. Society can imagine why an "inferior" woman would want to be a man, but it cannot imagine why a man would want to be an "inferior" woman. As such, individuals who transgress in this way are marked for discipline and violence.
@@edwardharshberger1 Realest facts right there, everything has such strong ties to patriarchy that OBVIOUSLY the "lame" women wanna become "cool" men, but since men shouldn’t want anything but being men, there HAD to be ulterior motive to femininity, hence the stereotype of "men in women’s bathroom" or "failed male athletes dominating women’s sports"
I feel like conservatives hate us so much because they hate themselves for being attracted to some of us. If they say they aren't, they are lying. There are so many incredibly hot trans women (and men😉) out there that they have definitely been attracted to some without even realizing they were trans. That's why they are so obsessed with the bathroom issue and the like. The swimming video isn't just transphobic, it's incredibly sexist. Untalented male swimmers are not going to outrace professional female swimmers by 9 whole minutes.
The story behind the swimmer and why this person in specific is what everyone “jokes” about (i forgot their name) is because when the swimmer was a fully developed male competing in high level of athletic swimming, he was getting like 5th. Then the swimmer got a sex change and was able to compete in woman’s competitions a bit too early. The swimmers body was still biologically running as a male with high testosterone while competing against woman, and was taking 1st place. It did become a big controversy NOT because of undergoing transition, but because of how soon one was able to compete after making the decision. Take away all sexual identity and it was still pretty much a biological male hormones in a biological female hormone division, which does have its advantages. The swimmer was not “untalented” rather actually quite talented just not placing top 3 in the top level of performance. Hope this helps! :)

I met JP a few years ago, before Covid, I was so shocked when he became this uber conservative, hyper masculine, conspiracy theorist dude. He was basically a Hippie, and he came off very chill and a little effeminate. It's the strangest arc I've seen someone go into.
The hippie-to-fash pipeline is real. Woo and “crunchy” nonsense absolutely leads to Qanon bullshit, because its the crowd that they advertise to, based on magical thinking, reliance on self-help, obsession with “natural” things (easy to turn that into a fascist obsession with “purity”), and distrust of “authority” (i.e. science, academia, etc). Its why so many outwardly “chill” people get radicalized into this, and it makes me instantly suspicious of old hippie types.

You all say you have gender dysphoria... so we are to believe you somehow know what you are? I don't care personally what or that you are trans.... but if you demand we pretend and address you as said pronouns.... then you cross the line.

I dnt mean to discuss or anything like that but I just wanna let you know that not everyone who reads the Bible and beliefs in God is conservative. Maybe in America it is like that amd you have to identify your spiritual beliefs with a political view too and witu certain public characters. But in Europe for example, you can vote for the left amd at the same time be religious. I just say this because it's sad that the Bible and the figure of Jesus become related to things which actually have nothing to do with him 😥
@@YFL.111 I'm non-relgious, largely, (agnostic apatheist, i.e., I don't think I can know if a higher being/s exist, and even if I could and they did show irrefutable proof, it wouldn't change the way I live my life.) and very much a leftist, but I wanted to agree with you that it's very sad that religion is so weaponized, especially politically in America. I live in the Bible Belt, and it's, it's complicated, relating religion to politics, but I, I guess the most simple way to describe it would be that they, on average, go hand in hand, and people fuel their conservatism with their religion as reason/explanations so often that it's become somewhat associated with it. Sadly, there's almost a guarantee the two go hand in hand, here, but it's, there's a few reasons and it's a little difficult to discuss it all. One of the main factors goes back to preachers taking political stances during a specific political time, when they kinda realized they could manipulate their people, and this led into like Satanic Panic kinda stuff, for example. Since then, politics and religion kinda have gotten, uh, very muddled and swirled together like napolean ice cream, but it's all of the melted ice cream mixed together. Because of the sorta association, sometimes it's hard for people who are religious to find churches that aren't super politically charged, and find people who will not enforce the two into one concept. There are some, for example my pediatrician is religious, I presume Christian, and she and her whole church, pastor too, went and helped protest the anti-trans bills that were being passed in my state. (They were kinda disputed as inhumane by an outside group, thankfully.) She was the first adult to take me saying I was trans and immediately believe me, without question. Still makes me tear up remembering that day, no hyperbole, and I quite literally just started crying after she just immediately went "oh! have you figured out what pronouns you like? Have you figured out what name you'd like, because I can put it into the system for people to call you it. Have you considered what kind of treatment/transition you might want, like hormones?" just because *no one* had just believed me. Everyone was immediately "are you sure" "do you know what that means" "you're too young" etc., despite be having been fighting myself over it for a good year before I came out. To have anyone genuinely trust me not to be rash in that decision and to trust me to figure it out, it just hit me hard. I only cried a little, but it, I can't describe that feeling. It was one of the first times I felt like someone genuinely trusted me to know something without question. Sorry for that ramble. I live in the Bible Belt, like I mentioned, so like, I've had a time of anti-religion where I rebelled against shit becaus while my family wasn't religious, or didn't enforce it to be more accurate, people still treated me weird about it or tried to traumatize me into it so much that I took a stereotypical Satanist stance for a good year or two out of desperate rebellion. I've kinda grown beyond that, but it took a long time to stop associating Christianity itself with that bad thing/issues in general religion caused. I love hearing about non-oppressive people in religion, especially Christianity, with it's negative association regarding LGBTQ+ stuff and the left in general, because I think reminding ourselves they aren't one in the same is a starting path to helping diverge the two once more, maybe.
You've gotta check out this other channel called Innuendo Studios; they do such a great job unpacking the beliefs of "everyday conservatives" and how they get pushed into that pipeline. Examining the grifters like this is good, but you've also got to look at the audience.

@Real Ray traditionally, transphobes target black female athletes because they allegedly perform "too well" to really be women. the whole thing is rooted in the idea that women are less than men and that the true guideline for true femininity is white femininity. the gender binary has roots in racist eugenics and the gender binary was used to declare darker races as "beastly" races because they lacked demarcation between men in women in their societies before colonialisation.

They don't, at all. The only reason it's an issue is because trans people are forcing their ideology on everyone, and crying about rights when someone says men shouldn't go into woman's bathrooms.
I like how JP casually ignores that over half of the examples of countries enacting gun control "followed" by a genocide experienced a drastic regime change in the intervening years. Turkey: 1911 gun control --> 1913 one-party military dictatorship takes power --> 1914 WWI --> 1915 Armenian Genocide. China: 1935 gun control --> 1937 Second Sino Japanese War --> 1947 Cultural Revolution --> 1949 Mass Starvation and genocide of ethnic groups in China. Cambodia is by far the worst example of this because it went through not one but two full regime changes between the gun control law and the genocide. 1956 gun control --> 1964 Vietnam War --> 1970 Khmer republic (likely backed by the US) --> 1975 Khmer Rouge takes power and kills over a million people. As for the other examples,, most people in the Soviet Union died of Starvation brought on by Stalin's harsh grain restrictions in Ukraine (are you planning on eating your guns for survival?) and Nazi Germany's gun control in 1938 didn't really apply to any of the people they exterminated because they had already banned guns for them long before that. Even if they hadn't, Ethan's argument of "what are you going to do against a police state with loads of military equipment and the numbers to suppress anyone they like" applies better to Germany than to anywhere else. Although maybe JP is right because this is exactly the braindead argument that would come from someone who "accidentally learned about history".
Have you paid attention to the war in Ukraine? They have managed to keep Russia from decimating their country by giving average citizens assault rifles.. they are taking down tanks. You grossly underestimate the ability for people to defend themselves against tyrannical entities with the use of firearms.
@@AttentionSpam That is the most reasonable retort to this argument but it belies the reality of the situation. In reality, these regime changes were either isolated to the government and involved very little civilian defense or they were supported by large populist revolutions, directly contradicting the point that JP was making
@@AttentionSpam If we’re talking about Turkey (Ottoman Empire to be precise), which is the main example of this that JP gives, not really. The existing government was already deeply unpopular for its embarrassing loss in the First Balkan War. I’m guessing the main reason most civilians didn’t get involved was apathy. More of the same to them really. It’s not as if most of them could have foreseen the Ottoman entry into WWI over a year later and the Armenian Genocide two years later, and many of the more conservative Ottomans strongly desired the latter anyways
Also, the fact gun control isn’t banning guns, it's controlling what kinds of nutjobs can have guns. My stand from here on: men who oppose gun control are pussies that can’t use their guns so they’re _scared_ they won’t get a gun permit. The “real men” they claim to be know how to use their guns and have no problem getting a permit. I'm from a country with gun control, and owning guns is still pretty common. Most of the men in my family own guns because they served in the army, hunting is a common hobby, even I've wanted to try out going to a shooting range just for fun, this isn’t like a pacifist utopia. We still barely have school shootings, because we don’t give guns to mentally unstable teenagers, or people who don’t know how to use them and accidentally kill themselves. Our country went nuts after one school shooting, because that doesn’t happen here every year like in the USA. It was a big news story when someone accidentally shot themselves, because that’s very uncommon. Gun control, not banning guns, works.
@@JasminMiettunen I don't know what country you are from, as you didn't explicitly say. But if you're not from mine then I'd also like to point out that the UK also _still has guns_ - you can absolutely legally own a gun in this country, contrary to popular belief. And not just pistols either. Shotguns, rifles, pretty much any gun you can think of, provided you can provide a valid and legal reason as to why you want to own the gun, and you've passed all the very stringent requirements in order to get a gun licence. And those even include psych evals, something the US simply doesn't bother to do - for its citizens _or_ its police. Which is honestly frightening. Even the UK government at the time after the school shooting in Scotland knew that an outright total ban on guns simply wouldn't ever work. But controlling the manufacture, import and distribution of guns much closer combined with far more rigourous requirements to gain a licence _could_ actually work. And it totally did. Sure even that isn't 100% foolproof. We still occasionally get criminals gaining access and we have shootings. But we still don't have school massacres and most of the guns the criminals get their hands on are altered display models that more often than not end up jamming. And every shooting still makes _national_ headlines _because_ they're so rare, considered so abhorrent and quite regularly that directly leads to arrests being made and convictions.

I think sometimes it can be a good idea to step back from the news and everything modern and look back. History books that talk about trans people's experiences in the past. To see how they struggled and yet triumphed. To read trans authors like Julia Serano. Find books and media that talk about and uplift queer and trans joy. It can be easy to get to feeling overwhelmed, like nothing is getting better and that it's actually getting worse. And that may be true, but it helps not to feel like you're doing it alone. Looking back at the beautiful people fighting for queer and trans liberation, and seeing myself as a part of that tradition, gives me hope.
Hello. I'm a bit late to respond to this. I am trans as well. Im in my 40s and just came to terms with it about 2 years ago and I'm now almost 1 year into HRT and I feel everything you said here. I almost feel bipolar or manic at times because while I feel the best about myself that I ever have in my life I also have been going into the deepest and darkest depressive episodes I've ever been through....ever. And it's entirely because of the rise in rampant transphobia in our society. I am scared to death of Republicans gaining more power than they already have. They want to eradicate us. Completely. It's becoming too much to handle. I try to ignore, but it can't be ignored. It's been about a year since you made your comment. I hope you are doing better 😁✌🏻
I live in Belgium. Several years ago one guy, one single guy, bought a gun and shot three people on the street in broad daylight. Two adults and one toddler. How did he get the gun? By simply showing his ID at the gun shop, proving him to be of age. Gun laws IMMEDIATLY became stricter. Now you have to prove that you are mentally stable, need to learn and prove that you are able to handle a gun responsibly, before you can get a license. You can only buy a gun with a valid license. After that, you are required to practice regularly at a certified training centre. Every couple of years, your license needs to be renewed. If you don't abide by the rules or no longer qualify, you either have to turn in your weapons or have them be made unusable. Confiscated weapons are destroyed. Belgium is still a very regular democracy, there have been no genocides or anything. Also, no school shootings. None. Zero. And luckily, no other incidents such as the shooting I mentioned above. Most people in this country don't even own a gun. Because we don't need it. Police have guns, but they also have strict rules on when they are allowed to use them.

Okay anarcho socialist here-
We aren't anti-law. We're against laws that were specifically made in order to oppress people or if they were made to protect people from getting in trouble for doing something wrong. Unless they're ancap.. in which case yeah.
For example: the war on drugs and the laws that came from that. They were made in a way to oppress marginalized communities
Another example: murder.

Of course they deflected to "why should my tax dollars pay for someone elses medical treatment?? It's not MY fault they have problems. That's what FAMILY is for" and then "And there's charities for people who don't have families who can pay"

What's even crazier is that I've actually seen conservative try and argue "no I would care about that as well, no teacher should be discussing their personal lives on the job EVER!" How delusional and/or homophobic do these people have to be to actually think (or even say, for the sake of the argument) they would give a shit if their kid's straight teacher happened to mention they have a spouse/partner to their classroom?
I know! I had a student from a two dad family and it was never an issue. Kids don't really care about it unless an adult convinces them to.
as someone who worked at an afterschool program for kids, we did a little "be nice, respect your own and others' feelings, call people what they wanna be called" spiel every morning. all it did was help kids know to ask for a break to cry if they got upset when they lost a game, and make em more likely to ask the long haired boys their pronouns. we had a couple of nonbinary kids and not one child cared more about that than making explosion noises when putting down their board game pieces.

(Ie next time they refuse to invalidate the results of a free election)
It's funny that he copied his whole trans swimming weight lifting champion skit from Trump but mr freedom lover doesn't have anything to say about literally locking all homeless people into camps or Trump taking direct control of the US military and using it to attack anyone who disagrees with him or refuses to commit crimes for him.
I also doubt he's going to have anything to say about Trump's latest speech where he says we should destroy the us constitution.

It drives them crazy that some of us pass really well and not knowing if they are getting a little chubby over a trans woman drives them crazy. Its the same reason they hate gays so much. Some genuinely have hatred for them but some are so in the closet and beaten down my internalized homophobia that they lash out.
@@edwardharshberger1It never ceases to amaze how they're "not all men" until it's a trans woman.
Because, to a Conservative, a woman is lesser. So a woman transitioning to a man is a funny little attempt at trying to be something better to them. The swimming video isn't just transphobic, it's incredibly sexist. Untalented male swimmers are not going to outrace professional female swimmers by 9 whole minutes.
Also just by looking it up I’m pretty sure the actual number one female swimmer is cisgender.

Like, there's just so many layers of bigotry and "being a jerk" even without unpacking the transphobia he wants front and center.

As a straight dad , I can tell you that I am not obsessed with queer people, cause they are just people. Like me 😊
I like how JP casually ignores that over half of the examples of countries enacting gun control "followed" by a genocide experienced a drastic regime change in the intervening years.
One would argue that the massive regime change was made possible by an unarmed population. It’s a lot harder to do one without the other.
@@AttentionSpam That is the most reasonable retort to this argument but it belies the reality of the situation. In reality, these regime changes were either isolated to the government and involved very little civilian defense or they were supported by large populist revolutions, directly contradicting the point that JP was making
@@quarkonium3795 could the “very little civilian defense” be attributed to the lack of means to defend?
@@AttentionSpam If we’re talking about Turkey (Ottoman Empire to be precise), which is the main example of this that JP gives, not really. The existing government was already deeply unpopular for its embarrassing loss in the First Balkan War. I’m guessing the main reason most civilians didn’t get involved was apathy. More of the same to them really. It’s not as if most of them could have foreseen the Ottoman entry into WWI over a year later and the Armenian Genocide two years later, and many of the more conservative Ottomans strongly desired the latter anyways
In both the Chinese and Cambodian examples, the dates he gives for gun control laws are well before the regimes that he then cites came to power, lol
I love that he's bringing up "examples" from 100 years ago, look at some current countries with gun laws
Exactly!! I was looking for this comment! All of the world's full democracies have gun control so wtf is he on about?
Yeah, funny he didn't bring up Australia. Oh wait, that goes against his entire agenda.
It was a classic example of biased research. I can imagine he even googled "totalitarian countries that banned guns"

In terms of LGBTQ+ right, and specifically trans right, I feel like we are moving backwards in time. My mental health has gotten to one of the lowest points ever, and I really can't go on. This is to much for me to handle, I just want everyone to have equal opportunity to just live. I am however grateful to not be in America right now, because this shit is crazy. If you are a trans person your self, and you are reading this, although the world i tough, we rather have you in the fight for justice than not. You matter, even if you feel like you don't. And if you need anyone to talk to about issues, im always open.
Maybe you should stop acting like a fascist trying to force everyone to agree with you pretending that you aren't part of the most privileged group in the west to try and gaslight people into thinking they are wrong for having an opinion you don't like.
I'm sorry you're struggling, and I can't imagine how difficult it must be for you. My bf is trans and it really gets him down sometimes, especially the misgendering because he hasn't transitioned.
