@@icecreamforcrowhurst A lot of people in their 20s & 30s have been inspired by the math rock playing in his band Minus the Bear. His earlier band Botch was hugely influential as well for metalcore. Even today guitarists are strongly influenced by his approach in that band from the 90s.

Maaan I listened to them so0o much back in '08, and then a decade later in summer '18 I finally went to their show by myself and was absolutely engulfed by the nostalgia... I pulled out my phone, but only recorded about 10 seconds before I realized I was wasting a truly precious moment, and put it right back in my pocket.

Dave is the unspoken master of this pedal. Seeing him play the DL4 live over the years was one of the most inspiring things I've ever seen or heard. To me it was like being a teenager in the 60's seeing Hendrix use a wah pedal for the first time, I've never heard a guitarist evoke these sounds but him, in conjunction with his unique playing style and riffs of course. As a guitarist I value these real-world reviews with icons who used the gear

One of the coolest things I’ve ever witnessed was MTB in concert and the band stopped playing, just to allow the loop pedals to continuing playing without them.
As someone who has messed with loopers for a long time, this is not easy for timing purposes alone

Arguably Muse and the Fuzz Factory, but I'd say MTB is much more creative with their pedal use. That's probably a massive understatement tbh

Our band did a cover set of Minus the Bear on New Years Eve like 4 years ago and I had the super fun task of figuring out and learning all of Dave's parts. It was fun as fuck! I had to have 2 DL 4's and two loopers in my chain and it was soooo fun. Such a clutch move with the SD card so you can save your loops on the DL4 instead of having to save them on a looper down the line in your chain.

Finally someone has added an XLR input. My previous choices were a Boss RC that only had a 1/4 mic input or the Jamman I found used that crapped out.

A popular mod on the old one is to add a switch to activate the looper without turning the rotary switch. Guess they missed that.
I stand corrected. They have an option for an external foot switch to activate the looper

The smartest thing they did with this was make sure there was a mode that works exactly like the old one. They knew better than to mess with what's given the original its longevity long after the other 4-switchers were discontinued. (Although I'd kill for a MM4 MKII.)
