“And uh, it’s certainly wonderful to be here, and certainly a thrill”
That was so awesome
youre such a lovely audience i'd like to take you home with me, i'd love to take you home
Sgt Pepper's speech!!!! Love you, George❤❤❤❤
Very nice gentlemanly way of saying this is such BS!
Such a lovely audience
"It's unfortunate Paul's not here 'cause he's the one who had the speech in his pocket."
George doesn't get enough credit for his sense of humor.
George was The best of them all !
@@moshekaitzjiujitsu378 , The most quiet one.........................................
He was famous for his sense of humor as well as his music...
Unfortunately Paul died on September 11 1966. Faul was not invited at ceremony.
Paul would have come here if he had been alive. Paul would not be missing from here for anything in the world. The same goes for his father's funeral.
Dylan seems like he just got out of bed to get a glass of water in the middle of the night, went the wrong way and ended up on stage. Haha, love that dude.
lol, great comment.
Damn why is this so true😂😂
well thats what would you expect from him, hes him after all lol
Bob always looks like that😂😂😂😂
Seems like Bob and George left yesterday's party late. Even George had a bad hair day. Very rare.
In many ways, George was my favorite Beatle. He was quiet, thoughtful, understated, underrated, oft overlooked, and let John + Paul stand in the spotlight while he worked behind the scenes, getting better and better. He never tried to upstage them. When his time come, he showed his own greatness. He had quite a sense of humor, too,...
A genius.
Beyond great guitarist...very complicated...
A true Pisces.
Love your message Mark Reierstad.....
So true, a real gentleman.
I love that George's voice hasn't aged at all. He has such a soothing voice
Well, he was 45 here. Not very old.
It’s so sweet when George does the head shake thing during I saw her standing there. Despite all his very conflicted emotions about the Beatles (and the issues they were going through when this happened), he still clearly really enjoyed playing that song and bringing back a bit of the old times. It’s also extremely George that he would’ve just played acoustic guitar and let someone else play electric guitar.
John's spirit, George, Ringo, Springsteen, Jagger, Turner, Fogerty, Winwood, Joel, Dylan, Beck, and what looks like a Slash behind them. THIS IS HEAVEN!
and Brian Wilson at 2:31
That amazing night *The Beatles* were inducted by Mick Jagger; *Bob Dylan* was inducted by Bruce Springsreen; *The Beach Boys* were inducted by Elton John; *The Drifters* were inducted by Billy Joel and *The Supremes* were inducted by Little Richard. Those are the people you see on stage.

The Beatles the greatest band ever and forever? Just look how happy those famous rock singers are singing a Beatle song. Their joy says it all 🙏
I need a cover of this song by Billy Joel in my playlist. Man killed it.
His concert at Shea Stadium in 2008 he played this song with Paul
I can never put into words how much I absolutely love the Beatles. There was a show on my local radio station called “ Beatle Brunch” in the early 90’s where they would play Beatles songs and then give you a inside story to the song. My pops and and I would listen every Sunday and it literally changed my life. My pops growing up with the band had so much knowledge and when we got to the “I buried Paul” on strawberry fields I was obsessed. This band is why I love music.
The line at the end of Strawberry Fields Forever is "Cranberry Sauce"
Steve Shannon that’s what the man wants you to think.

I discovered Billy Joel through this video 8 years ago and now own all his albums and have seen him live multiple times, thanks uploader!
Seeing who's on that stage just shows the influence of The Beatles on their generation and beyond. That was magic.
"Or what's left...i'm afraid" this is tear dropping
Paul would have come here if he had been alive. Paul would not be missing from here for anything in the world. The same goes for his father's funeral.
Mick Jagger looks like he's having the time of his life while Bob Dylan looks like he just wants to go home
I wouldn't be surprised if Bobby doesn't have a touch of Asperger's. Not that there's anything wrong w/ that
no he doesn't. He looks exactly like Dylan playing guitar and having a good time.
I'm so pleased The Beatles and the Rolling Stones are my generations they are without a doubt the GREATEST.!!
Well spoken George, pure class
The first induction was likely Elvis followed by Buddy, then The Beatles. They were certainly the first Band, as opposed to a singular figure. Growing up with them was the greatest gift given the massive impact they had. Years later, they still reverate...thanks for the great upload. :)
@Degree7 also one of the inspirations for the name 'the beatles'
@@MrAwawe Thanks, I didn't know that.
They still reverberate.
@@93Jubilee I read that John originally wanted to call the band the Crickets but Paul said it was already taken. Can you imagine?
No pun intended
First year: Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, etc., from the 1950s.
Second year: Bo Diddly, Roy Orbison, Smokey Robinson, The Coasters, etc., up through 1962.
Third year: The Beatles, the Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, the Supremes, Les Paul, Berry Gordy, Jr., etc.
2:11 that head shake from George is everything 😍🥰❤️
Always same since 1963 I'm in tears
WOW!! What a night. George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Bruce Springsteen, Mick Jagger, Billy Joel, also there was Brian Wilson and Mike Love form the Beachboys. The fortunate people that were there. Unforgettable. The Beatles were like a shooting star. We had them for just a brief moment in time. It is wonderful to see George and Ringo. Paul missed out. Thank goodness for the R&R Hall of Fame.
I'd swear to recognize french rockstar Johnny Hallyday playing guitar near Bob Dylan. Is he really?
dina113east Don’t forget John Fogerty. He belongs there. He’s a Rock and Roll genius. To bad Jerry Garcia wasn’t there. That would have been a Howl.
These guys are GREAT !!!! ALL TOGETHER !!!! I CAN SEE MICK JAGGER, GEORGE HARRISON, BILLY JOEL, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, RINGO STAR AND SO MANY MORE !!!
damn george's speech put me in tears
The stones are Rock and roll the beatles were a pop band nothing more sorryyy

Robert Burnette Both good, both rock, but Beatles top Stones
Robert Burnette nah they were rock
@@robb1761 die Beatles better end of discussion
I love how George shook his head about at the "Oooooooo" part like he did right back at the start.
What puzzles me is how anyone could be in the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" before the Beatles.
This was their first year of eligibility.
Chuck berry, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly... they inspired the Beatles with Rock n Roll
Ivan Neil yes but the Beatles revolutionized the idea of rock and roll, which is why they are widely accepted as the best band of all time.

Man, Bruce Springsteen always looks like he's having so much fun on stage, wherever he is. What a legend. And what an insane group of artists (geniuses) all on stage together. Has a collection like this ever been topped?
3:08 - that moment in history where George harmonizes with Mick Jagger on the part he'd harmonized a billion times with Paul on. Sad and wonderful at the same time.
God bless George for doing this, I was born '72 and grew up listening and loving their music
When there are so many legends on a stage you don't even notice Brian Wilson's there
I just love Ringo... he was the most humble and most approachable of all the Beatles... He and George were a lot alike and they seemed so grateful for how blessed their lives were... I miss John, and I miss George, too. I think Ringo remains my favorite Beatle... he was the most real and down to earth, it seems... and it's true that he WAS the "luckiest man on earth" to have become the world's most famous drummer in the world's most famous and most successful rock band E V E R ! There will never be another band or another set of personalities like The Beatles... It was pure magic, kismet and could only happen once... and it did.
I feel so fortunate to have grown up in the decade of The Beatles - the Sixties... the timing was perfect.
That stage is a Hot Mess! A lot of musical talent, brilliance, and all the personalities...& They seem to be having a Blast!
Ringo Starr! Wow!
Carajo... escuchar a Billy Joel, Mick Jagger y Bruce Sprinsteen fue genial...
Such a lovely thing to behold.TRUE talent having fun whilst entertaining us!
True Greatness all together in one room. Anytime you see a Rolling Stone singing with a Beatle you know you've had a good day..
And a Stone singing with The Boss. I love Bruce because he truly knows and loves rock & roll.
Amazing. All of these people are a part of my life. Thank you and bless you all. I love you.
WOW...Billy Joel really young there! What a jam fest, and the musicians that were there, what a tribute to the Beatles. 🥰
Not that young - he turned 40 a few months after this. People tend to forget his first records came out in the early 70s.
ALL the Legends came out for this one! How epic..
Great to see Dave Edmunds up there with all those R&R legends!
It’s such a shame we don’t have John and George here today, they were and still are legends
1:11 It always breaks my heart when George talks about the absence of John.
Mick Jagger is the Best everywhere he plays
It's incredible seeing all those legends crammed up on stage like that. Really appreciate seeing something like that.
Великолепно!много раз просматривал и прослушивал в оригинале и до сих в восторге от этой композиции
Oddly the song they all sang was written by Paul
Bob F. This was mostly Paul’s song, but when he showed it to John for the first time, they both cringed over some parts of the lyrics and then John came with his suggestions for lyrics. So this is a Lennon/McCartney, maybe one of the first. Paul doesn’t take all credit himself, he says it’s a Lennon/McCartney.
@@skinnyaxel5914 when john played with elton.john. at madison square garden it was john.himself who said. " we're going to do a song from an old fiancee of mine called Paul and we just about know it " then they sang i saw her standing there
Bob F. In a video on UA-cam, Paul goes in-depth on lyrics and says that this probably was the first Lennon/McCartney. But it’s no secret that Paul and John had different stories about songs, often the opposite of each other.
written by Paul and John...and Chuck Berry (Talking bout you)
@Ivan Notchuk exactly
I love the way Ringo speaks at the beginning
What a great tribute to the Beatles. Amazing show.
I love you Mic Jagger/ Bruce Springsteen amazing vocal thrills! George Harrison great speech
As a man in his late sixties, I've seen this and done that but I still get heebie jeebies when I hear this song. I, as a useless amateur, have sang this song to my friends many times and getting a great response.
At 3:12 Mick tries to drag out the "whoo" but George just does the signature headshake. Guess some habits don't fade easy♥️
They're all Gorgeous ! ❤️
Bob Dylan always looks pissed, but thats why we love him :) haha
Epste1n5693 I bet John Lennon was wishing that too wherever he was
If he is not pissed he is not dylan.
Ikr he always looks like he wants to be somewhere else. Anywhere else haha. I love him for it
But he is not
Squahsed I think he does always want to be somewhere else haha
god, I haven't watched that since it was on TV, and it is great! I love the vibe between Springsteen and Jagger. Su-bloody-perb!!!
I'll say this here as it's my only claim to fame. My two favourite acts who've influenced me more than any others are The Beatles and Jeff Beck. The guy standing next to Jeff here playing guitar with the big blonde hair is Dave Edmunds. I was in a pub in Wales once and Dave was in there having a pint. After a bit of chatting the landlord handed us a guitar each and we jammed for about half an hour or so. Dave said "you're a pretty good guitar player." I was chuffed to bits. He's produced George Harrison, Jeff Beck, Roy Orbison and many others. That's my little claim to fame.
Such a cool story. Very cool bro. U musta been over the moon after that
It is good to see so many friendship among those fantastic people
I'm crying inside this is so iconic
In the early days, a reporter asked Mick what was the difference between The Beatles and the Stones? He replied. "There are four of them, and five of us."
Billy joel is at the top level allways , he could have been in any legendary band no questions asked
Never will see the fab four together again. IMHO the golden age of rock and roll is behind us.
Some of the greatest musicians ever playing together is amazing
Edit: The Stones, Springsteen, 2 Beatles, and Billy Joel. Freaking crazy mates
George doesn't play the guitar solo so Jeff Beck just jumps in. Priceless.
Everyone minding their own business and Billy Joel singing the shit out of his mic
You are so right. Didn't notice that.
Gracias causa, ahora se viene la peli en Disney 25/11, saludos desde Perú 🇵🇪
Was that Billy Joel singing at first? He sounded so good singing this! Obviously he's a great singer but I didn't expect him to sound similar to Paul but also be himself at the same time
He sounds quite like paul if you compare pauls voice on let it be and billy's voice on goodnight saigon
Its almost the same
I remember Billy Joel in concert doing spot on imitations of McCartney as well as Paul Simon and others.
Hes literally just a paul imitator. A made in china paul

Great rendition of this song
I love how George still (maybe out of habit) shook his head at the "woo" like he did in the early 60's.

Rock and Roll is a mixture of gospel blues boogie woogie rockabilly and country music.
Bill Haley Buddy Holly Jerry Lee Lewis Fats Domino Richie Valens Big Bopper Elvis are all great pioneers of what we call the beginning of Rock and Roll.
The Beatles wrote a lot of songs not just for themselves but for other people. As a matter of fact the Beatles wrote The Rolling Stones first #1 hit for the stones.
The 60’s brought out the best music ever and sadly we will never have great musicians like that ever again.
Eric Clapton Janis Joplin Joe Cocker Jimmy Hendrix and don’t forget the great Motown sound.
You also have a lot of great musicians that were one hit wonders and you have a lot of greats that started in the 60’s that didn’t get their big beak until the 70’s Bob Seger is one of them.
We all have our favorites and we can all argue until we blue in the face!!!
I’m soooo glad that I have gotten to witness the best music to ever live!!!
Oh and who ever mentioned the Monkeys they were the first lip sync band they didn’t know how to play an instrument!!!!
Oh and to the one that said Cajun music appreciation class can just kiss my ass!!!!!
We have the best local talent of Cajun Zydeco musicians in Louisiana that goes way back before your precious rock and roll groups!!!
Love Billy Joel at 2:41 giving the chord structure in the number system: Go to the 4, stay on the 4, then to the 5 and back to the 4... Who playing on that stage wouldn't know that? Great stuff! LOL
Whenever you have a lot of people on stage like that, the song(s) they play will almost always be 1-4-5 to keep it simple.
Oh FFS, of course! It didn’t occur to me that’s what BJ was doing there. Big DUH on me.
Well bro, thank you for that useful information. I never knew what he did for.
Is that Jeff Beck playing that guitar solo ?
Who ever it was. It was fantastic.
Good catch
Nice ensemble of legends.
Bruce springsteen and mick jagger singing together was amazing
Bruce was such in awe of the darn thing he forgot the words but Mick picked him up and he was okay again. That's just as magical as anything here.
Loved how B Joel was leading them through the song structure with the four, and the five.

why do people hate the song choice? I know its a paul song but this song is perfect for the huge group to jam and dance. With all the chaos, its a fun getaway to listen to. I loved seeing all of them on stage
I'm sure that Paul regrets not being there for whatever reason he had at the time.
He had business and legal issues with the surviving Beatles, Yoko and Apple Records and thought it would be silly to get up there together with it going on. He has said he regrets not going
Faul probably wasn't invited, George and Ringo maybe didn't want him there because he replaced Paul. George said, " we loved John and Paul. Faul you stay away.
