My favorite moment gaming was when my DM had my little merc company sub-contract with the ELH and I got to stand at attention when they played the Star League anthem before it's empty flag pole. (My DM had recently got the Mercenary Handbook with it's big section on the Light Horse.) Just one of those magic moments around the table when you all feel like you're really there, not just sitting around a table shuffling through stat-sheets and calculating die rolls. Not long after, graduation, college, and life separated us and we never even finished that campaign. I was thrilled when I learned they would play a key roll in taking the battle to the Clans. I first read about the Eridani light Horse in "The Atlas of the Fourth Succession War". ELH's reputation for professionalism and honor was invoked by Jamie Wolf himself. I have a metal Battlemaster painted for the Light Horsemen, I want to do more, but that will mean most of my minis are mercenaries.
Hello Grim. Although I mostly played either non-aligned Mercenaries, or House Davion sponsored units, I did respect the Light Horse and the Highlanders. I fought many tabletop battles both against both forces, and sometimes... rarely, in conjunction with them. Other than the Wolf's Dragoons, the Eridani Light Horse were the most lore driven units that I knew of at the time. And I always respected my foe across the tabletop from me for playing the unit. My respect must have rubbed off on my fellow players, because even when playing non-aligned Mercs, my forces were never treated as less than another honorable foe engaged in attempting to complete a Contract. I liked the episode, and hope that you continue the history of the Light Horse in the future. Along with other videos on other famous Mercenary units in the Battletech universe as a whole. Remember, always... Anti-Missile Systems are your friends. And Gauss rounds hurt... a lot. Frank-ly Speaking

Wolf dragoons being most well known of them and this one does seem interesting. I wonder what other good or neutral good mercenary groups that are out their. lol My lore is rusty, got rely on sarna or youtubers like you. So thanks!
@@just_one_opinion Jaime Wolf said it himself in the Novel Wolves on the Border. Its mentioned again when they fight together on Conventry. You might want to read some of the older lore, and not the revisionst Catyalist stuff.
My favs!!! I recently collected the new IS models from Catalyst (with a few IWM metals) to recreate my version of the 6th Recon Co/8th Bn/151st (Dark Horse) Light Horse Regiment circa 3020.

I was a fan of the Light Horse back when I played, not sure why since I'm a medium to heavy guy but I just always liked them. Thanks for giving them some attention
I just carry on regardless. I am no slave to published lore, and most people can't be bothered to care about lore written by a distant gaming company who has done harm to the IP more than a playmate in front of them.
