The Destrier reminds me of the sort of ridiculously massive megatanks that you'd see in an old school vertical arcade shoot 'em up, like Raiden or Truxton.
Can you make a Superheavy vehicle in battletech I seen ppl design vehicles which are not canon.I would love to see if ppl can design non canon superheavies and if there is a site where I can check it out
I like to think that the German railway cannons and the Atomic Annies are the forebears of these monster vehicles. I knew about them from perusing sarna.net, but I think your video has more info than those stubs.
They are pretty fun. The vehicles often pack a lot of fire power for the cv but are very fragile relative to a mech. Once you get the hang of vehicles if you come at people with combined arms is devastating.
@@randyrrandelson6444 Like the concept of combined arms, but when I have tried, it has either been quickly trashed by other players or I trash it quickly ;)
I tend not to use heavy tanks except lrm carriers. Units of harasser hovercraft and warriors are real nasty for rear hits and hunting down light mechs. At standard speed you still get good movement multipliers and low to hit numbers. I like the srm 6 variants to get critical hits.
It would be funny if the Lyran Commonwealth built two superheavy tanks called the "Maus" and the "Ratte". Germany tried building something similar during WWII, but both were failures. The Maus never made it past the prototype stage, and the Ratte was never built.
Big slow arty tanks are always going to be a primary target. Although using them as a simimobile pillbox or fortress kinda makes sense.
Not from 5+ Maps away
Ran into a couple of Gulltoppers escorting some super heavies in Rogue tech. What a damn nightmare that was.
Sounds interesting. I bet they could probably be annoying.
@@GrimDarkNarratorthey take a lot of killing and can punch back REALLY hard
6:45 looking at that picture of the artillery, next you should do a review on an infantry 60mm mortar at the small end of the scale :).
Lol :)

Some how "Ambush" and "200 tons" don't sound like they should go together...
Just need to get the targets in range of the big guns.
You can still ambush them from miles away :D

Actually most of this is from Sarna :)
Hello UA-cam algorithm. Dem some BIG tanks. The anti infantry turrets are about the size of a person.
New options to me, was never really into vehicle for BATTLEMECH ;)

Thanks for the input.
GrimDark Narrator Your videos are great.

In fact there is one called the Maus, but i got the impression it was more of a joke.
Thanks for the vid dir.👍🏼👍🏼
You're very welcome!
The third ones windows are 15 feet tall!
Artistic license :P
The things next to it aren't battlemechs. but powered armor, at most 3 meters or 9' 10" tall.
@@Boseeinsteinshake Good to know thanks.
@@jasonulysess3652 You are very welcome, it is quite the chunky vehicle still!
The third one can road kill Battlemechs?
It might :D
Where is my daily dose of 40k!!!!!!!
It comes an hour after Battletech usually.
So much bad idea since the rules a made to prop up mechs over conventional vehicles.
👍
Guy's doing nothing but reading straight off the Sarna page.
