Too bad that surprise was spoiled for her by the comments in Unbreakable.
James McAvoy gives a fantastic performance ... or I should say performances. This is a very underrated trilogy IMO.
It is difficult to not give spoilers while telling new viewers that this is part 2 of a trilogy. I think the best way to handle it is to only say it takes place in the Unbreakable Universe. During the theater release, audiences had no idea of the connection. They were very excited when they saw the epilogue with Bruce Willis portraying David Dunn. Part 3 is next - "Glass".
Such an underrated trilogy, I also feel like it gets misclassified, this series definitely falls under superhero movies and people always leave it out when they talk super hero movies.
@@AREA-jp8vb What makes it unique is it doesn't really focus on the action / adventure normally found in the superhero genre. This trilogy focuses much more on the psychological discovery and exploration of these enhanced humans, both internally (character development) and externally (society interaction & response).

47:50 That appearance by David Dunn was supposed to be a surprise ending. Unfortunately, several commenters just couldn't help spoiling the fact that this movie is connected to Unbreakable.
Casey has incredible survivor instinct everything she went through when she was young prepared her for this.
James McAvoy is such an underrated treasure! I first knew him as Leto Atreides II in the Scifi Channel's miniseries adaptation of Children of Dune in 2003. I was so excited when he showed up in The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe as Mr. Tumnus. If you continue with the X-Men films, you'll see him as a young Professor X. Anya Taylor-Joy also has a Dune connection--she plays Paul's unborn sister, Alia, in Dune Part 2 but you only see her onscreen for like 3 seconds.
Love this movie, James McAvoy is Amazing & this is the movie that put Anya Taylor-Joy on my one to watch radar...
The premise is awesome and the acting in this film is sooo good. I can't even imagine WHAT I would do in this situation. The killer(s) would've been greatly disappointed. I would've died of a heart attack by the time I saw the 3rd personality..... wouldn't even get to kill me.

The beast wanted to make ppl hurt like Kevin did, he viewed the two girls as Un pure. Kasey suffered enough as a child so the beast sensed that she was pure?? Idk
he used pure/impure, but what he was saying was that people who endured abuse or any kind of suffering, like Kevin did, were stronger than those who never experienced that because they experienced so much trauma in their life (I'm not saying that to be clear just explaining from his point of view), that they can survive because they had no choice but to survive. Whereas, if its someone who has never endured trauma, will not be able to handle and know how to move in a situation like the two girls were in. Notice how Casey knew how to go about situations, she calculated what she needed to do. The other girls who have never been in survival mode had ideas, but didn't realize that you have to know what you're dealing with in order to know what moves to make, they tried though. So his solution is, basically purging the world of those that he feels are weak (people who have never suffered abuse/trauma).
“You didn’t even put on a wig to complete the look the insanity is strong” this is what I say walking around the real world everyday and seeing people trying to pass as things they aren’t.
Love what you said at the end. Always remember that the 24th being could be there.
James McAvoy was amazing in this movie. this was one of the best movies ever
this movie returned all my trauma back to me and i could finally say i forgive the world.
U gonna enjoy this one Top tier performances 🏆💪💯

Maybe Casey's power, although undeveloped, was invisibility.
Being told this is connected to Unbreakable before you see it, is such a disservice.
Now I know why they didn't give him an Oscar because they didn't know which personality to give it to.

@@denardthomas5725 The director of Split also was inspired by Billy's story. He had James read The Minds of Billy Milligan. I read that book probably 30 years ago and was fascinated and heartbroken by what happened to him.
You need to see the sequal to this called Glass it shows how this and Unbrakable connect with each other...not a fan of that movie but still it will show you how they crossover with each other. I liked this movie and I am glad for it because sadly M.Night movies lately have been letting me down and I tend to not like them. M.night was in this movie as the guy that was showing the doctor the footage of Barry,he almost always makes a cameo. His daughter has gotten into directing too she has a new horror movie out called The Watchers. any way back to this movie I love how well James is able to bring out each personality and makes them so different as well. Grate reaction as always.
