My favourite cars from IFA were Trabant and Wartburg 353!
We had a Barkas B1000 van. I remember when we were kids, we used to ride on the motor, it was warm and comfy, a lot of memories. Once we were carrying some flour bags, it was winter and we skid off the road into a ditch and the back door flung open letting the four sack into the snow :)) It was the exact sky blue colour as in the clip

Same with some Czech production cars and motorcycles. Unbelievable cars&designs - but for financial reasons or more often for political reasons/considerations they had never seen the light of day...What a pity!

Super Video! Kenne alle, bis auf das P70 Coupe und die concept Cars die ich teilweise aus dem Museum kenne.. Einiges habe ich selbst gefahren. Mein erstes eigenes Auto war ein F7/8 den ich damals für 500 Ostmark und einem halben Brot erworben habe.
Ich einen Trabant 500 (Blase genannt ) im Jahr 1982 Baujahr 61 für 500 Ostmark....Scheunenfund

This video needs to stay here forever so someone could collect one of each and maybe make an ifa museum so all of them remains at a safe place

The H3, was a continuation of a pre-war Horch-Truck, as you can see, it still had the Horch-Badge on the grill. Also was the IFA F8 a continuation of pre-war DKW F 8. IFA F9, was a DKW Concept Car, wich was announced for 1940, but of course due to war, it couldn t enter market. In Western Germany, an almost identic car was sold as "DKW F89". EMW, was a copy of pre-war BMW. They were even sold as BMW for some years, untill BMW of West-Germany banned the use of the name by court order. So they just changed the name to "EMW" (Eisenacher Motorenwerke), wich became later AWE (Automobilwerk Eisenach, Eisenach Car plant), who made the Wartburg Car.

Remember seeing several of these cars/trucks on the roads of Europe however they are vary rare on the roads of Western Europe today.

Ich habe eine Frage zu den Gewichtsangaben. Sind das Leer- oder Gesamtgewicht oder die Zuladung? Ich habe hier gerade einen H3A mit der Gewichtsangabe von 3,5 Tonnen gesehen. Das dürfte aber weder die Leermasse, noch das Gesamtgewicht sein. Andere PKW habe ich mit Gewichtsangabe von 1,1 Tonnen gesehen, was dann aber wiederum eher das Gesamtgewicht sein müsste.
Wie verhalten sich denn nun die Gewichtsangaben?

Wasn't Fortschritt also part of IFA? I've seen some pictures of a few ZT300's that were made by Fortschritt that have an IFA badge on the front, so I'm thinking that they might have been a part of IFA.

Példának okán tegnap egy nyugati Volvo tetejéről folyt a fejemre a víz. Osztrák, nyugatnémet gyártókkal közös fejlesztések, ezt nem sok keleti blokkban lévő gyár mondhatta el magáról, mert inkább vették az olasz francia licenszeket

Nein,so war es leider nicht.Dieses Konzept kam 1984/85 von IFA in "Zusammenarbeit" mit Mercedes und sollte der neue "IFA L70" werden.Letztendlich ist es ab 1986 beim L60 geblieben wo man, zum Glück (gefällt mir persönlich besser als dieses Konzept...ansonsten hätte ich heute wahrscheinlich auch keinen L60 :-) ),die Kabine vom W50 abwandelte und auf den neu entwickelten Rahmen setzte .Der 814er kam bereits 1983 auf den Markt, rechnet man die Entwicklungszeit noch zurück,ist in diesem Fall nichts abgekupfert....denk ich.MFG
nicht ganz. Der IFA 1318, sollte lediglich das Fahrerhaus des 814 bekommen, die restliche Technik sollte IFA sein. So hatten es die Herren aus dem Westen zumindest avisiert. Wurde dann aber nix draus, weil die Herren aus Benztown sich kurzerhand entschieden, den Mitbewerber IFA sozusagen zu assimilieren. Somit lief das Teil dann eben statt mit IFA-Logo und -Technik, komplett als Benz von den Bändern - mit Stern statt IFA.
