New Way We're Installing Our Pond Windows

- We've heard from a few customers that they've installed their glass this way, so after some experimenting we've decided it's the better way!
glass is glued in first, much easier and less mess.
liner is then put upto tye glass, cut (be careful!), then it's glued to the back of the glass.
this way uses less sealant and gives you a clear view of where needs more sealant if you've missed a bit
Thanks to all of our customers for sharing their experiences and helping us to improve this daunting part of pond building! 🙌
Great video mate new to your channel 👍👍👍
Very nice pond. What is the dimensions and thickness of the glass
Good job man. Fella have you ever installed window with pvc liner would it stick to window? Will appreciate any response thanks dennis
i would advise a full bead of sealant. Yeah its not sealing the pond, but rain getting in between glass and block will rot the timber that is "supporting the glass. If it freezes and then expands ?
Thanks for your thoughts, we aren't going to change the way we install them though!
Nice pond i am now subbed to you.Dave Koikarma
Nice build. Question: how do you secure the liner to the top of the wall? DO you use anything to protect the edge on top where the liner is folding over to prevent it from rubbing and eventually ripping due to the rough edge of the concrete block? Thank you for sharing.
Liner is held in place firstpy by water, then once full copings are laid ontop to hold it down
What’s size of concrete block did you use ?
Any reason you guys use liners instead of fibreglass? Liners are a right pain to seal properly and they always look abit tat
What sealant did you use to connect the liner to the window?
Recently had this method fail on me, for the record "I'm not blaming the sealant" the MS300 bonded perfectly to the glass but after 3 months the liner simply peeled away from the sealant. Personally I'm still on the fence with this surface mount install method. I have now re-done the whole seal BUT this time roughed up the EPDM liner with sandpaper and cleaned everything down with acetone. Fingers crossed this gets me off fence 🤞
We've always created a recess in the walls, fixed the liner to the wall then fixed the window onto the liner then a thick bead around the edges on the inside and outside, never had a leak
Great video was the insulation perfectly flush with the glass?
Yes it was, thankyou 😁
Hey mate, what's the type & thickness of glass used here?
His link on the sealer question has it.. 1200 x 600mm x 25.5mm thick.
Nice job 👍 what silicone do you use?
Prob some kind of fish safe marine silicone
How long do you leave the sealent to off for before filling please
24 hours with MyPond Ms300
Thank you
What sealer are you using
Hi! It's the MSP sealant

Why don't you get boxed welded liners for square or rectangle ponds, so much neater without all the folds that collect debris and its a pain to clean?
Who makes those?
Do you have a suggestion for a sealant available in the US?
Hi, message us via the website and we can quote to ship to the US, we often send parts to customers across the pond!
@@cwdpond The cost of shipping would be prohibitive.
@@stevenbrown4534 the cost of the equivalent sealant in the states would still be higher
@@stevenbrown4534 Compared to Gold Label pond and aquarium sealer.. He's right. Buy his from UK.
Hi, Can you give me a price for a pond window 1300 x 600
No idea why you would put timber in there when you can rebate the blockwork in a fraction of the time at no extra cost and not have the window fall out in 18 months time once its sodden and no longer structurally sound. High oxygen content water rots wood out super fast too. Id also be wary of using PIR in a fish environment, the glue used is definitely toxic to humans. If the liner leaked you wouldnt necessarily know in a concrete pond but chemicals could swim around from behind the liner and the fish could be insidiously poisoned.
