We always get told we do it wrong, must get 10 messages a week from people around the world, never had 1 leak this way and it's so much easier! Sealants have come a long way! Thanks for the visit 😁
Hi I would have thought u fit the liner first then the glass over the liner. How come u do it this way Instead? Have u had 2 come back 2 any pools 2 redo the glass ??
@mikeclemson6711 if you try and fit the liner in the recess first, you can get wrinkles this in return can cause leaks by fitting the liner over the window it's completely flat as it's the window sat in the recess 👍
I used the same skimmer, found very shallow so fine for Nexus but bead runs dry before backwash completes so hilt pond level before bead clean sorts it. Hope this helps! Good video Carl.
Hi mate, yeah we're not a huge fan of this type as you find it stops working too quickly Spoke to the customer about it and he's having a trickle in and out, that should sort it. Compact M on this he's got
Running the pond now, I resealed every joint on the skimmer as all the bottom joints leaked. Running skimmer directly into the Oase Compact M via a 3” pipe and 3“ bottom drain goes into the second inlet. Seems to be functioning well at the moment. No problem with filter running dry even though trickle in is not set up yet. Thanks for the comment though 👍
Hi @cwdpond great video very informative, I'm currently designing a raised sleeper pond and will definitely be coming to you for glass and boxliner; out of curiosity what is the maximum width of glass you would recommend for a 1800mm side that's max 800mm deep? I would like to fit one around 900-1000mm long by 400-500mm deep
You should apply the sealant to the edge of the opening and remove any excess after fitting there should not be any water ingress because that will cause wood rot
Believe it or not we turn up to ponds all the time where the customer says "we added a few inches just to make sure it fits" tye whole point of a perfect fit liner is that it fits perfectly, order it to the exact size and it'll be fine Going smaller, as Jamie says will stretch and over time likely fail causing a leak Good luck with your project 👍
If I was putting in a box liner again I would put a mitred piece of timber or foam all around the bottom edge of the pond, so the liner is not stretched into the bottom edge of the pond.
What liner is this you are using ? I used pvc liner and it has come off very easily from the glass . . Now , I need to start doing again . Because is a very small pond :60cm Wx80cm L and 50cm height. I’m even thinking of to “plaster “ the whole thing off with ms300. I do have a small window in the middle
This is a box welded butyl rubber liner, they do have a minimum charge though so it would actually work out cheaper using MS300 standard as a liner If you have solid walls and floor it should work just fine
Solid walls and floors . I have seen one of your videos where you have plastered the plywood with ms300. I will probably do it like you have done it on that video . Can the ms300 be ordered from eBay or from your website? Thanks for you quick reply ! Nice work !
I love how you fit Windows I fitted mine before I found your channel but I'm glad I did it that way it hasn't missed a beat 👍

nice video mate keep them coming
Thanks, will do!
Good video but use the same nozzle throughout you waste sealant using new nozzles
Hi carl, Great video can you please share the size of the glass many thanks.
Hope it work

Very nice video. How to choose the right glass? Amy technical term? What thickness? Thanks 🙏🙏.
Hi, there's no 1 size fits all answer unfortunately.. it depends on width and height
Is is possible to add a window to an existing raised sleeper pond with a box welded liner? If thr pond was drained and the opening was cut out?
with the box weld liner if I order it just a little bit to small will it give me a tighter finish
No it will stretch and put pressure on the joints and could possibly split in the future 👍

@@cwdpond ok thanks I was just wondering as a box weld is cheaper for my grow on pond I can’t bothered to fibreglass this one
If I was putting in a box liner again I would put a mitred piece of timber or foam all around the bottom edge of the pond, so the liner is not stretched into the bottom edge of the pond.
Could you use Edpm pond liner for a pond the like this and seal it the same way around the window?
Thank you 4 ur reply. Do u lay the sleepers flat or can u lay them on there side ??

Hi how long do you leave it to go off before filling with water (liner to glass)
what kind of wood do you mainly use? is it possible to make a pond with fir. Sorry for my english but i speak french.
What’s thickness’s the glass glass?
What silicone are you using please
Mypond Ms300 👍
👍👍
You don't feel the need to use bottom drain ring..is a nightmare to line up the screws.
That's right we don't use the rings anymore, i don't see what they do, other than cost £20!
