The beginning was a great recap of some of the less glamorous parts of travel in Japan. And it's an honest accounting. You're not dunking on it or glorifying cultural differences. Golden week was ROUGH!! It was crazy for my trip too! I will definitely be skirting that week in the future. I'm glad y'all were able to find a place you love to live, that's big for your overall mood everyday.
Emma, I moved to Arizona from Pennsylvania and I really missed the cold when I first did. It took about two years to FULLY acclimate, but I really hated the cold after that 😂 I did back pedal, I moved from Arizona to southern CA (which is still warm but significantly cooler) and now I HATE the heat after loving it for like 15 years. My point is, your body will acclimate to the heat. ❤ I’m sure you know that, but sometimes it’s just nice to hear from others who have experience it.
It’s funny how your body acclimatises like that! I’ll probably hate the cold when I’m back in it haha, I think it’s more the fresh air that comes with the cold that I miss. I’m sort of getting used to the heat now, but luckily it’s not too crazy in the North of Thailand, Bangkok is next level heat 😅
I’m scared. I am landing in Japan on May 06, 2024 last day of golden week in Japan. To avoid the crowd we booked a private shuttle straight to our hotel for $200. Any tips can help! Is it crazy busy on the last day?
If you’ve got a hotel booked you should be fine! Our main problem was we had no hotel and couldn’t find one available because of golden week. We were in Hakone and it was very busy there but seeing as you land on the final day I think you’ll be fine! A lot of people will probably be travelling back home though so it’s a good idea you booked a private shuttle! The traffic and public transport might be quite busy 😅
Being a fan of this channel is like when you see those dodgy quality old videos of Nirvana playing in a high school or something and you watch 'em now and it's like man those ppl had no idea what they were watching if only they knew and I can say I was here and watching cool content from these two before they blew up and had a bazillion trillion subscribers and oh bollocks I forgot the importance of punctuation lol

Capsule Hotels have showers for rent. 30$ to 50$ for a capsule some have a 5$ shower fee
Never knew that! Damn 🥲 Though a lot of the time we were in places where capsule hotels weren’t available as we went quite rural
