Jaryl did a good job explaining everything, thumbs up.
Gentlemen, I've been trying for months to figure out why an Echo PB255 blower wouldn't start even though it has 90 pounds of compression, spark, and fuel. After finding this video, I learned that it uses the same flywheel and thus the same replacement parts. I followed your video, and the blower lives again! Thank you so much for your efforts! A thousand blessings upon you and your families!
Your cousin Jaryl Jack done a really nice job on that Echo 🍃 leaf blower Taryl. He should come to"visit"you more often.HAHA!!.🙃👍
12 o'clock "You folks with digital watches are going to have to work it out"...😁😂
We would call it " 12 - o - cuckoo clock "
Plus I noticed that flywheel thread was
" cuckoo clock - wise "
Great video. It gives guys like me confidence in tackling things normally out of my comfort zone. Thanks to the group for letting cuz back!!
You really do cover everything. I just bought this new looking blower at a junkyard for $20 and I had the exact same problem. Sheared fly wheel. Thanks for the part numbers. Really helps out a diy mechanic. I did the same thing he did for troubleshooting and then when to check the coil and damn the flywheel is free spinning. At this time I thought , gotta see what taryl has to say about this
I wish I could find the parts I need to use in the trash, in the original packaging, when I need them. Jarrel Jack needs to play the lotto.
Great video but I do have one constructive comment. When you are screwing into plastic, ALWAYS start the screws by hand! Apply firm pressure and turn the screw BACKWARDS until you feel the screw drop into the previously cut threads. Then turn it clockwise a couple of turns until you are sure that the threads are fully engaged. Then you can run them down with the impact if you want but tighten them by hand. If you fall to do this, the steel screws can cut new threads which rips out the old threads. Then you have a stripped hole to repair. I spent 30 years repairing cars for a living and 10 years repairing copiers and printers. I’ve dealt with a lot of plastic parts.
I wanted to hear the rest of "slippers" story.
I'm payin 40 a month 4 internet and watching Taryl is a great deal, commedy an learning
something about small gas engines, can't beat that!
Think FAST: Fuel, Air (compression), Spark and Timing.
Another great vidya!
Thanks for the rope trick!
Cousin Jaryl gave me tips that will help me repairing my Echo ES210 vacuum/leaf blower that has no spark. I could have use a impact tool with the recoil starter in place, probably damaging it. And then, not putting a rope/cord to deep in the sparkplug hole that could get caught in the intake/exhaust ports. All good stuff. Thanks for all of the great small engine videos, and intertainment. Karl
I like cousin Jaryl. I like how he teaches. And he reminds me of someone that comes to our family reunions.
And is a blood relation to both sides....
The one with the jumper cables ???
@@philod902 Don't laugh, i think that actually happens in my hillbilly family!
Tom Clark LMAO
Good job Jaryl.....looking forward to your channel.......Thanks for all the work you guys put into these videos.....one of the best channels on the Tube...
Mystery solved ! Mine wouldn't start , came across your video and found the same problem. Many thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I happen to fix the same leaf blower this afternoon then I saw this. Nice to know if I ever have a starting problem. All I had to do was put a handle on the rope. It runs well now. Thanks for the information.
Fairly new to your channel, so I hadn't come across your cousin yet.
He done good, as you all do.
He earned his dinner.
Cousin derriere did a wonderful class
Terrel you better get this guy Back up in the hills before he decides to open up his own shop!
did that ... and it did fixed my blower .
Thanks !!!!
Great video solved my no start problem as I had the same symptoms (spark, compression, fuel were all good). I filed a bit of material off of the new key and fit no problem.
You guys are Fantastic to watch you explain everything in detail Thanks.
I have a Remington Ambush that may have same problem, it will start with starting fluid but won't keep running unless I have full choke on.
I did take apart and clean the carbitrator once already and that didn't seem to improve it.
I figure I may pull the carbitrator apart once again and double check that fine screen again, perhaps even though it looks clear there might be som "resins " remaining that I can't actually see and an air blast failed to remove.
Thanks for another Great Video ..... Bravo !
Great video. I learned a lot. I haven't read all the comments and I apologize if already addressed but my starter rope would abruptly stop when I tried to crank the blower after replacing the flywheel. It turned out the flywheel was hitting the coil, preventing me from cranking the blower. I had to access the coil in order to adjust the clearance between the flywheel magnets and the coil. I used a business card as a spacer while making the adjustment. After doing that it cranks like I imagine a new one would. I also added Loctite to the coil threads but had to quess at how much to tighten it as I don't know the torque specs.
1000 foot pounds and the adapters had me rollin
4bangerlove year
Thanks for another informative video Taryl.
Jaryl is a hoot!
"Ask me how I know..."
Priceless humor!
@David Courdriet,
How Do You Know?
All those extensions on the air wrench really made me laugh, big smiles from the UK
I was just working on the same leaf blower. Had fuel, air, and spark. It wouldn't even start try to fire with starting fluid, but it did eventually start without it. I'm curious now if the timing just lined back up. Well, the neighbor will bring it back next time it doesn't crank, that will be the first thing I check. Thanks for the video.
that requires a one thousand foot tons impak rench.
so at least 20 ugga duggas
umajunkcollector Looks like Reddy Kilowatt. Don’t see him much anymore.
These videos have been very helpful to me on my troy bilt lawn mower tractor. .
Wow, you do a really nice job of laying everything out along the way so lots of people dont make the common mistakes. Fantastic job on this video which fixed my issue. thank you.
I have an Echo Weed Eater that is 13 years old, it has Never Failed and still using the Original Spark Plug-I have replaced the head a few years back. When this one kicks the bucket-a New Echo will be Purchased--Hopefully their Quality has not Decreased...
Too late.... i used 1000 ft/lbs..... My extensions were 10 ft long.
Lol can’t express how much I love this channel
Several other echo machines had the good aluminum flywheel. I robbed a couple from junk echo string trimmers and maybe a chainsaw??? from my junk pile to use on the blowers I've fixed. Buying new parts is something I rarely do.
The old echos that were grey before they were orange seemed extremely well built
@@evanknight3629 yep.maybe 15 or 20 years ago?
He does a good job. Very informative. Great stuff Taryl and gang and happy Thanksgiving to you and your families.
I have the Echo PB-255LN that I purchased on 4-12-2018 and used for light use residential. I have always used ethanol free fuel with the Echo or Amsoil full synthetic two-stroke oils. I am very picky about cleaning/maintaining my equipment and filters on everything I own. I start the blower like it says in the manual, this isn't my first rodeo, I already knew how. I started having starting issues with it towards the end of last fall 2021 and it bogging down and dieing and then taking at least 15 pulls to get it running again, in a struggleing manner. After dieing it would not start right away, I would have to let it sit for at least 15 to 30 minutes before it would struggle to start again, at least 15 pulls. I checked spark plug and it was clean but I replaced it anyways with the same NGK BPM8Y and I still had the problem. I did some online research and checked the spark arrestor but that was clean, I removed it so it would never become a problem in the future. I also checked the exhaust port and that was clean and no scoring on the piston. Took apart the carb to check but that was clean and no dirt/grime. Blower would still not fire-up without at least 15 pulls and then all same problem. I ended up using my electric blower over the winter. In March of this year 2022 I played with it again but same problem so I ordered a gasket/diaphram kit from Cutler's through Amazon. When it arrived I took apart the carb again the original gaskets and diaphram was still in pristine condition with no deteriation but I replaced it anyway. SAME PROBLEM! I then did some more research online and removed the plug for the low idle adjustment screw to play with that but that was of no help. I also removed the spark plug and it gets spark when visually checking, I don't know if it is a strong enough spark though, it does look bright and strong. I was told by a buddy that the coil could be dirty/surface rusty so I took everything apart to look inside and everything inside is imaculently clean. I did the business card gap check on the coil and it has the perfect light drag feel to it, so I didn't bother to even take off the coil yet. I called up the dealer where I bought it at since I have about 6 more months of warranty remaining but they said it would be at least a 4 to 5 week turn around. I try to fix most stuff myself since I'm capable of it and it's a half-hour drive down there for them to mess with it. Amazon has aftermarket coils for half the price as an OEM but they only last a few uses until they poop out is what the reviews have stated. It is not worth me paying about $90 for an OEM coil when the blower cost me $200. I've now come to the point where I'll just have to take it to the dealer for them to replace the coil if that is the problem and wait a month. I don't think they had the flywheel problem with the PB-255LN model and I'm not going to try to chase this problem any further. I'm taking it back to Austin Outdoor Power tomorrow and they can dick with it. I will not be buying another Echo blower again until they quit using crap parts. I'll probably end up converting to battery powered equipment since I'm sick and tired of gas powered problems and the amount of labor time I put into messing with them. I hate the price of what those batteries cost.
Thanks, Jartl Jack great video
THIS SHOW IS GREAT
Brilliant man ❤️👀😃😎👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Good video derriere , tayrls got competition !
1000 ft-lbs is 775 fig Newtons dry plus one quarter turn then retorque..lol
Excellent repair tutorial Jaryl. I have a Echo blower that has spark, fuel and compression but no start. Thanks
Great video I followed towards the end reinstalling the impeller bolt since I just replaced my ignition coil.
What would make the flywheel key on this blower shear?
You folks with digital watches got to figure that one out that was funny, nice instructional video great work
Thanks!
I could be wrong, but you sound super patient. Clear precise video. Happy Thanksgiving!
Found all those parts plus the blower in a trash dumpster?....LOL
Well lookie there, an old Pachinko machine!
Loved playing them over in Japan. Win "pencils" to exchange around the corner in an alley for Yen!lol!
My brother in law actually has one of those...
@@TakeDeadAim I went to the same place. Millions of metal balls. Gambling is illegal so you 'sell' your token or pencil to someone you can't see behind the opening of the building behind the game room. Lights flash at 10 PM, go home people. I had so many lights flashing and bells that people came over to watch. One guy dumped in more balls!
I had a couple of those. Super cool.
My Dad brought one home when he returned from his last Westpac cruise. Us kids had a blast, although we never understood what made it drop more balls. Eventually, every ball played resulted in another ball drop.
Just fixed my 90's model Echo blower that sheared the same way only it was a full aluminum flywheel with the key made into it. PB-2000 I believe.
Cousin Jaryl Jack did a good job.👍
Need more Jaryl vids
Thanks for the video. Had a customer bring in a pb255ln that wouldn't start. He put a ebay carb kit on it and torch spark plug. Adjusted the carb and was getting fire and fuel but wouldn't start. Took it apart and whoever worked on it before didn't put the Woodruff key back in so timing was off.
"WHAT...IS THERE AN ETCHO IN HERE ?"......seriously though, I have that exact blower and it's a good one...1-2 pulls everytime
This guy needs his own channel
Amen to that, he is very good at explaining the process
And there's your lunch
27:34 In the end credits it says to watch for it.

great job jack taryl give this boy a job after he is off probation
You guys are great. Love watching your videos.
Taryl.......You need to have a cold Hamm's before you pop a gasket! Cousin Jaryl can't help himself he took to many dumpster rides and confuses easy!......lol! Great video!
you guys are the best....follow your videos you can easy became a good small engines mechanic!
Oh Great, so now I have that to look forward to.
Great job!!!
Love it, great info and entertaining
I'm curious as to how the key got sheared, on a lawnmower yeah, but this?
I would like to see Jaryl jack’s toolbox with all those special tools , bet it’s huge, good video! 👍
You just saved me a lot of money and a lot of headache!
Cousin goofy from Disney....... Love that guy..
Jarrell Jack is an amazing character 😂
Cool, 😎 tools are essential.
Seriously bro you're gold!
you guys are great mechanics. thanks for the bulletin on the flywheel
I tried to look up the TSB 13-18r1 that you mentioned in this video and couldn't find. Do you remember what all units were listed with this same issue?
Thanks; someone gave me a non running echo, almost new , doesn't run. I'll take a look..
Are you doing a video on the Pachinko Machine? BTW, Your cousin did a great job with the video!
We love you slippers...
funny, the way taryl was lookin at slippers an Jaryl as they were walkin out. . .
Had a Homelite blower that wouldn't start spent entire day screwing with it. Turns out there was a mudwasp nest in the muffler tube. One swipe with a screw driver and it started first pull
I have seen, and done the same. Getting another man's blower running, (for money) checking it from nose to tail, then i find a mud daubers nest INSIDE the muffler, all but out of sight. I charged that man 20 dollars, 10 less than i usually would charge, still feels bad years later.. Still though, i did do a lot of checking on that blower, a lot of time. idano....
But what about the torque loss from all the adapters
Thanks for the torque wrench tip!
Great closing music HEAVY 😎Taryls CUZ
Was Taryl having his period he seemed very cranky. That was interesting and informative & funny . Great job - Midol might be Taryl best friend .
"Muy importante" 😄👍
GREAT!!!!! LOVE IT U GUYS MUST HAVE THE SAME DENTIST
Nice to see a family member with slightly better teeth...
I was totally amazed that out of all the parts that might have been needed for the repair, the parts needed were found in the dumpster.. What are the chances of that? I totally believe cousin bullshirt though thousands might not...
