    So, I am not the kind of guy that regularly posts anything here - or pretty much anywhere else. But, I have to say how much I appreciate video. I have NEVER attempted to fix anything mechanical before. But your video gave me the confidence to give this a shot before spending who-knows-how-much to have a repair guy do this job for me. I ordered the $20 carb kit, followed your instructions...and BAM! it works like new. THANK YOU so much. I can't wait for something else to break (that part is a lie)!

    Bro I did this project earlier this afternoon. You are going to have clearance issues with this carburetor, I had to modify the intake block. And it's not just the throttle arm it's the other side of it too on top will block the range of motion you have to take the two corners off that block with a grinder a file requires a ton of energy just get out your angle grinder . At first I just seemed to clearance issue on the side that the throttle cable attaches and by the time I got that where okay I believe I have the range of motion I started the engine and I was running it and it's like wait I'm not hitting my pink idle because the upper right corner of that block is stopping the lever from moving on the other side of the carburetor. But still with the stock throttle cable you have to balance the adjustment down so that the carburetor will come all the way down to the low idle. This aftermarket carburetor requires quite a bit of extra work on this model blower. But I can say after 2 hours of cussing the carburetor and blower in my driveway this afternoon, I got the blower dialed in pretty good starts runs great but I was not expecting to have to adjust so many different features of the blower for a replacement carburetor. And there's something Goofy with this carburetor in between the high and low like they bleed over to each other

    Great vid. For those so inclined to try and adjust the Hi/Lo screws on the factory installed Walbro carb on these blowers...it is impossible to adjust those 2 screws. Even the expensive Echo/Walbro tool won't turn them.

      @@pattayperformance There are NO plugs whatsoever blocking the access to both the LO and HI adjustment screws on the stock Walbro carb. Thing I hate about these $15 Chinese POS Ebay carbs is that the throttle shaft plate hits the intake adapter plate....the factory fuel lines are too large internally for the ports on the Chink carb...host of crap that needs to be addressed to make them work. But when fitted correctly they're actually pretty good for the price.

    I’ve been trying to figure out my echo pb-580t blower and came across your channel and I have followed your steps for the carburetor but I’m still unable to get it started. I’ve replaced the plug and still nothing. I tried seeing if I was getting spark and what I found was that while I couldn’t see a spark, whenever the palm of my hand touched the plug itself while pulling, not only could I then see the spark but I could feel it as well. So no spark unless I’m touching it? I then decided to remove the backing so that I could replace the coil. But now I can’t seem to get the pull cord to engage. I’ve watched numerous videos, all showing to give it a slight pull as you’re placing the puller back in place but no matter what I do, it’s not engaging. So, now I’m afraid I’ve made my problem worse because I can no longer do any sort of testing. Is there a trick that I’m not aware of?

    • @pattayperformance
      @pattayperformance  Рік тому

      So when you pull the cord, it feels as if the motor is locked up and won’t move anymore?
      It possible the recoil is set inside the cup. What I like to do is, lay the recoil inside and wiggle it. Sometimes, I lay it flat and pull the string and you will feel it set it place as well as get flush inside cup. Then you install the bolts.
      What diagnostic work did you do before replacing the carb and What were the results?

    • @devildog3145
      @devildog3145 Рік тому

      @@pattayperformance when I start putting the pull cord assembly back on over the cup and give the cord a small pull to feel it engage and then position it to where it is fully seated so I can insert the screws. Once that is complete I can simply pull the cord as if it weren’t even attached to the blower. It pulls and retracts fine. I wouldn’t have removed it except you have to in order to remove the backing. I can try and make a couple videos but I’m not familiar with uploads to you tube or anything.

      Carburetor question, the pump works fine every time from what I can tell. It doesn’t get stuck one pressed. Should I be able to see fuel going into the center of the carburetor when pressed or no? I don’t, that’s why I’m asking. When I emptied the fuel tank, I pressed the bulb until the lines were emptied. I could see the fuel in both the return line and main line as I pressed the bulb. Which makes me think that it isn’t the carburetor. But I am at a loss as to what else I can check. I replaced the plug and checked the gap to make sure it was at .65. I’ve ordered the carburetor and will change that once it arrives. After that, if it doesn’t work, I don’t know what else to do. The damn thing still looks brand new. What a disappointment.

  • @eladiddy83

    So after replacing the carb exactly like in the video, and also replacing the spark plug and the fuel filter... this thing still won't start up, even with starter sprayed in. Worked perfectly fine up until about a week ago where it just died out of nowhere. Nothing's changed, fuel is still the 50:1 mix. Just putters for half a second, doesnt even make it to idle. I really don't even want to bring this to a small engine repair place because it'll probably cost half the price of a brand new if not more.
    Any thoughts on what else coudl be causing this?

      You’ve always used 50:1 and out of nowhere is stopped working.
      If you spray starting fluid into it…it will start nor run correct?
      If that’s the cause you have other issues that are not fuel related.

      I went even further than checking the spark plug.
      - Spark arrestor is not plugged
      - I hear no weird clicking or anything sounding like it's rubbing on the pistons in case that could've been an issue.
      - I do have consistent spark.
      - There's nothing blocking the exhaust port.
      - Coil looks good.
      - Gas is fresh with 50:1 echo mix added.
      - I replaced the carb last week with that ebay link you have on this video.
      I decided to empty the tank, take out the spark plug and leave it out of the hole for a day or two just to air things out. I was able to get that half a second cold start to occur just before filming the video (link below), flip it to run, pump a little more, but then that's it. Nothing else happens. Still can't get it to actually start. That's pretty much been the farthest I get in the last 2 weeks since I started this whole adventure of trying to get it working again.
      I'm really out of ideas here. I'm hoping by recording it it might make it a little more clear what the issue is to someone else hearing it. I haven't taken the flywheel off yet but that's probably my next step. Pulling on the pulley does spin the blower fan, so I don't know if a sign the flywheel key is broken is a sign the blower fan wouldn't spin. Either way - here's a link to the video I just took.
      ua-cam.com/video/TdWAzzORXQw/v-deo.html
      Any help is really much appreciated. Even just telling me this thing sounds like it's a lost cause would still be helpful, I just hate giving up on trying to fix something, especially when it's only a year old and showed no signs of dying prior to this.

      At 1:30 you started looking at the bulb....I thought because the primer bulb wasn't filling that it needed a new 1

      Got spark for sure. New hi test gas mixed properly. New echo spark plug, filter, and carb. Gaskets were good. Fuel lines were like new. Do you know what tool to adjust the carb?

      @pattayperformance  2 роки тому

      @@sacul7694
      You know it’s a fuel related issue if you spray starting fluid into the throat of the carb and it runs and dies.
      OEM echo carb tools are hard to come by…if you went aftermarket just need a flat tip screwdriver

    • @sacul7694

      @@pattayperformance Yeah, we tried starting fluid and it kind of tries, but won't run. I think I'm going to take over to our local fix-it shop. Thanks
