I just bought that blower for $149 from Lowe's. It runs great, but it does look like a pain to take apart 😂. I'll try to take care of this one lol. Thanks for all your hard work producing these great videos.
It's not bad to take apart . Just did mine that was a trash pick. Getting spark and fuel but the plug seems like it has fowled. The diaphragm in the carb looked uneven. Will see after messing with some more.
First off, great video! Very detailed and well-documented. Second, I have a 125b and 125bvx. Both failed at almost exactly five years. 90~100psi on both. Carb cannot be rebuilt on new models (green fuel cap is old model, American parts, better quality) due to EPA mess. Most of it is sealed up good. Same reason those adjustment screws aren't phillips or flat, unlike on my motorcycles, tractors, etc. I was told to basically buy new carbs. Both blowers are not in the shop, likely bound for the trash. This DID force me to do the smart thing and pay more for a solid machine. I bought a Stihl BR800 X Magnum. My father-in-law is in construction and has Stihl products that he had before I met his daughter, fourteen years ago. All run flawlessly. I got a four-year warranty on mine at no charge. Oh, and it blows so much better than the old ones too! I might fix them and donate them, but I dunno', I don't want somebody mad at me!
@@HomeGaragechannel No, I run only 93/E0 and when I took apart the carbs as best I could, they were spotless inside. No torn gaskets, no stiff rubber, nothing. Clean as a whistle.
Stumbled on your video while looking up the part number for yet another replacement ignition module for my blower. Your video is basically what's needed to be done with these blowers every season, regardless of how well they're taken care of. There isn't a single good thing I can say about them. The list of problems I've had to fix on mine is longer than a CVS receipt. The only time this blower didn't have an issue was maybe the first month I owned it, and I have several other 2-cycle tools I've restored and maintain that run beautifully. It will be getting replaced as soon as I can find an older blower/vac locally.
Thanks for putting this video together. I have this same model and seemingly the same issues as when you started. Hopefully, I will be as successful as you were in restoring it.
Husky makes good equipment. I always said that if I didn't have a Stihl I'd have a Husky. Never fooled with a Husky blower or trimmer but bet they'd bee an asset to the stable. Good fix for you and I'd be happy to have one myself. Blessings
I’m in the market for a new gas blower, it has come down to this model vs the Echo PB 2620, which I’m leaning towards, factors include, chrome cylinder, multiple nozzles, pro grade, light weight. Number of positive reviews. Thanks
Mine stopped running after a year. Tore it apart. Found metal bits in the cylinder. Changed the piston and ring. New plug, filter, fuel, still wouldn’t start. Threw it in the trash. Felt good to be finally rid of it. After a few hours I retrieved it and gave it one last chance. It started and I finished the yard work with it. It’s still not completely running right but it’s getting there.
I have a question about a Craftsman leaf blower that is at least 35 years old. No parts are now available but it is missing one of the carb adjustment screws. Will the machine run missing one of the screws? What can I do since there are no parts available? I love you videos. You explain everything so good.
I'd have to know the model number but someone only came with one. as far as your question, I'm not sure because I've never tried running a carb with a fuel adjustment screw missing. My guess is that it's not going to run well, or possibly not even start.
Just repaired one with the same issue. It was a loose carb boot. The carb intake boots get loose and they suck air and lean out. Always a good idea to tighten those two screws under the boot when you have it apart. If the carb wiggles at all the boot needs tightened.
I own Stihl equipment. I always go for high power, lite weight and ease of getting replacement parts. There is a Stihl dealer every 5 miles it seems. Very well done video, well spoken and two the point. I learned something. Thanks.

I bought an ebay refurbished model 125B (this one) in May of 2024. The leaves fell and I used it in December 2024. It ran well for 15 minutes, then seemed starved for fuel. Later I got it started for 1 more minute, but never again. The seller was Husqvarna Direct and they use Allstate warranty service. There is no mail order service, only the option to have it fixed locally and get reimbursed. If you've had small engine repairs done you know it can take weeks or months, and of course my time and gas have some value. I could probably fix this using your instructions in less time than it will take to make 2 trips to the nearest service center. Thanks for posting this video. I have this exact blower. I replaced the carb and it still won't start. What were the initial settings on the air fuel mixture? I've always used 1 and 1/2 open. That's not working this time. ???
I would buy one, really, it's not bad at all to work on in my opinion and the Husqvarna engines last very well if ordinary maintenance is carried out .Thanks for this video 😊 Ian
I have a RYOBI FULL CRANK Leaf blower, model number 2016RY25AxB . Got it given to me with no paper work included. Worked great the first year , this year it bogs down all the time . I checked the air filter and it's great. Onto the carb and cleaned and checked the diaphragm so they are good. I can't find any L or H screws and you know what those are. Put in a new spark plug and it still bogs but does sound like it wants to run. What is wrong with this thing ?
sure, replace the carb, the diaphragm only needs to be reduced in flexibility by a little bit to keep it from working like should and causing it to bog down.
I have a 525bx I’m getting ready to test my skills (or extreme lack thereof) on… it WILL start, but refuses to run unless I’m continuously fluctuating the choke while at the same time having to pull the trigger. So as you can imagine it’s beyond aggravating. Hoping a resolution won’t be hard to find. Gonna start with a carb kit. Already checked the arrestor, it’s clean.
Great video thank you..Would you recommend replacing the 2 stroke mix with aspen while a machine is in storage during the winter or is it best to drain the fuel completely. Thanks in advance
I would not get one, our church has one and I do not like it at all. It feels very cheap. I would definitely go echo or stihl over this one. Have you had or worked on a little 2 stroke water pump (like an echo wp1000?) I just got one, and wonder what you would do for storage for the pump besides draining the water out of the pump. Great video as always!
While I ran into this issue and got it started with the full-throttle trick, it eventually did fail on me a month later requiring I order a new carburetor. If you're running into this problem consider taking the time to order a backup for $15 off Amazon lest you end up without it when you need it.
Nice work, as usual. I have the same blower and it is a 2016 model. Runs well. I do have a question. How do you release the spring loaded air inlet? It is hinged but there seems to be a latch I cannot find and release it. Thanks in advance for your help.
Never mind. My blower is the base model and Husqvarna does not want to permit it open because they want customers to buy the more expensive model that allow the vacuum attachment.
I like this blower. Need to get me one to match my 525L. All the gas stations in my area are all ethanol mixed fuels, so I just buy the Husqvarna brand fuel in the big can.
For me its stihl 100% Ive had the top of the range echo blower and it was powerful but i couldnt get used to the feel of it. Ive never been a fan of husky because they seem to over engineer there stuff which makes it difficult to work on. Great video 👍🏻
Donyboy73 just did a similar video. Spark, fuel, compression, but wouldn't start. The issue was that the exhaust was plugged by insects 🐝 & needed to be cleaned.
I have the same exact blower, it started out as an idling problem. If I let it idle for to long it wouldn't rev up and die, I bought a cheap Chinese carb off Amazon and fixed it right up

Got 2 of these. Use 1 in each hand in the fall. Live it the woods in PA. 150 psi...I can only dream. Most I've got is 125. other one at 115. Still run great! Differences in guages??
well 2nd 125B died. compression dropped to 60 psi. They keep having the the ring stick to the piston. Done with them. Got a Stihl BG50. Great blower! 150 psi new, lighter, blows better, starts easier, and cheaper! I'm a convert!
My blower is fairly new and starts and runs great. However, after I shut it down it won’t start again. Even putting starting into the cylinder it won’t start. Any suggestions?
interesting, these are the problems that are the hardest to figure out. IF I had to guess, I think the blower is either flooded with fuel because it's easy to do with a hot engine or there's a gasket that's leaking and only proves to be a problem once it's hot enough.
I prefer Stihl but I wouldn't turn my nose up at this one. If I knew I had a carb issue on it I'd probably do what you said and just replace the carb then try servicing the old one at a later date, that way it isn't an issue if I muddle it up.
I notice that you spread some projects out across both of you channels. Is it random or do you direct certain aspects of a repair to a particular channel? For example do you direct repair videos to one channel and cleaning videos to the other? I'm just curious.
a long time ago I mainly put the cleaning videos on the "smaller" channel, but now I show light cleaning in both. And as far as the spread between channels, it's mostly random
Are all the carburetors on this model adjustable? I see two black screws but it doesn't look like they are adjustable? Your opinion please. My model of my Husqvarna is a 125B
I changed all my lines in my toro t25 leave blower but can’t remember where each line goes. Now it runs but when you press the throttle to speed up it will stall out
I know that some people say that Husquvarna’s have a bad reputation, but all the ones I’ve had working in gardens. I’ve never had a problem with them? I’ve tended to have the problems with Stihl’s.
I have on of these blowers and my air box is very loose. I took off the carburetor cleaned it. Now it runs but i dont see why it feels loose. Like its the whole airbox and carburetor. Do you know the reason? Its something loose that i cant see?
On my mom's blower, the spark arrester was clogging every few months and they were always on back order. I got tired of cleaning the old one and couldn't get a new one at the time, so it got deleted. It was too much of a hassle.
I found out what was wrong with my leaf blower. The low screw was turned all the way up. Why or how I don't know but I could not get that damn thing started so I just started turning the screw down a quarter turn at a time. Eventually it sounded like it wanted to start so I kept turning until it started. Then I adjusted it properly so it will run but I also had to turn the high screw down also.
@@HomeGaragechannel thanks yeah your video helped me. I didn't know which screw was what and I had already put it back together after cleaning the carb. I guess it was returned or just messed up at the factory but I've never encountered this before on a new saw. When I took the carb off fuel poured out of the head and the exhaust from me flooding it trying to start it and it being so out of adjustment I suppose. I could tell it was flooded but like I said I literally just bought the thing so I never expected to have problems right out of the box. Either way I started it again today and let it run and starts right up, idles fine, and runs great. Thanks again.
I've got one. First time in 3 years I've had to adjust anything on it. I found it 1 and a half turns is enough to get you started. And it doesn't need to be running like a raped ape. Just get it idling easy and running good when the trigger is pulled. Conservative adjustments are your key.
I have one. I just replaced the purge bulb and fuel lines and filters. It does what I want it do. I like it more now that I know more about how it works,
@HomeGaragechannel well I don't have a Guage to check it, but I have a new piston in there and it sounds really compressed when I pull the rope to try to start it...
Hey bro what's up? To me it dosen't matter what brand of equipment a person uses but as for me, I know that you know where I stand with a certain brand of equipment. If this is what a person is able to afford and it is able to get their work done then by all means get it and get work done.
unfortunately no, I'd only be guessing but do me a favor and try starting it today but don't use the choke and squeeze the throttle if that's possible on your model
These are cheap big box store homeowner blowers. Have seen 4 with scored piston, rings, and cylinder in last 2 years. You have already done a video on His what na 125B blower, and I said the same thing.
Mine wouldn't start until I got a new coil, it fired right up but it wouldn't reach maximum RPMs like it did before, I tried adjusting the air mixture and nothing, I decided to put the old coil back in and to my surprise it started right up and ran like it always did, I'm completely baffled by this thing by now, the next time I tried to start it nothing, that was last year, after the winter I decided to mess with it again and it wouldn't start, I had made a new mixture of gas and oil and still no start now I notice gas leaking around the engine housing in back of the starter assembly, the other day I decided to try it again and on half choke it started, I used it two days in a row with no problems, today before going over my friends house to cut her grass it started right up on half choke, when I got to her house I needed to use it before cutting the grass and once again the bloody thing refused to start only 20 minutes before it started and ran fine, is it possessed should I call a priest, now it doesn't leak and the spark plug is bone dry before it was flooding like crazy, I hate to give up on things but I might have to throw in the towel on it, FYI, I had replaced the carburetor, do these have some sort of head gasket that might be blown, it's also very easy to pull the rope not much resistance, if it is low compression the why would it run at all, I'm stumped.
it has a gasket at the base of the cylinder but it wouldn't affect the compression. When a blower starts one day, and not 20 minutes later or even the next day.. I'd day it was either related to engine seals, or the compression is right on the edge of working.

Are all the carburetors on this model adjustable? I see two black screws but it doesn't look like they are adjustable? Your opinion please. My model of my Husqvarna is a 125B
every 125b I've seen has adjustment screws.
I changed all my lines in my toro t25 leave blower but can’t remember where each line goes. Now it runs but when you press the throttle to speed up it will stall out
sorry to hear that, if you had the lines swapped at some point, the screen inside the carb might be clogged up and needs cleaning.
Nice fix
thank you
Should I get one of these for Christmas I need honest suggestions?
to be honest, no, I would recommend a Stihl or Echo.
I know that some people say that Husquvarna’s have a bad reputation, but all the ones I’ve had working in gardens. I’ve never had a problem with them? I’ve tended to have the problems with Stihl’s.
they all have issues here and there.
I have on of these blowers and my air box is very loose. I took off the carburetor cleaned it. Now it runs but i dont see why it feels loose. Like its the whole airbox and carburetor. Do you know the reason? Its something loose that i cant see?
the intake system is based around a flexible boot, it's supposed to be like that .
I’ve adjusted my L & H screws so much I don’t know how to get them back to factory setting. Any idea how much they open from the closed position?
nope sorry
On my mom's blower, the spark arrester was clogging every few months and they were always on back order. I got tired of cleaning the old one and couldn't get a new one at the time, so it got deleted. It was too much of a hassle.
I can understand that situation
Where do you get your fuel line. Fuel line I bought self destructs after one season and I have to go fish for the clunk
I get mine from amazon, nothing special
What model pressure washer are you using or is that just a garden hose sprayer?
I'm actually using an Avanti waterless paint sprayer from Harbor Freight. I don't need that much pressure from a pressure washer.
What is the proper gas mixer for these blowers
50:1
Do you know how many turns it is for the factory settings for the carb adjustment on the high and low side? I can’t get mine right
no I don't and each carb requires it's own adjustments so it's difficult to use someone else's settings
great video as always friend
thank you very much!
I found out what was wrong with my leaf blower. The low screw was turned all the way up. Why or how I don't know but I could not get that damn thing started so I just started turning the screw down a quarter turn at a time. Eventually it sounded like it wanted to start so I kept turning until it started. Then I adjusted it properly so it will run but I also had to turn the high screw down also.
very nice work
@@HomeGaragechannel thanks yeah your video helped me. Thanks again.
no problem
Awesome video, were did you get the daigrams from.
I get them from amazon
Very easy to work on the factory coils dont last long..
I have a Craftsman leaf blower that the primer bulb pushes in but doesn't fill and will only run on starter fluid, approx 20 years of age.
gotcha, I'd recommend a full service, which is new fuel lines, bulb, and carb.
Beware of aftermarket air filters
agreed
I’ve seen new ones kill the engine
Best to buy name brand stuff
I have the same blower. It’s practically new and it seems like the carb is flooding out on startup.
you should be able to make adjustments to the carb to keep that from happening
What adjustment tool is that???
I believe this one was the larger "splined" version
I just bought one of these for $20. It's a year old and wouldn't start for the guy this year. I'm here to figure it out.
Hi I am wondering from where do you buy metering diaphragms
I get mine from amazon
I have a 2009 Troy bilt horse riding mower it is making a kicking noise and I know that the engine is good
I'm wondering if something is hitting the flywheel. Do you have to jump start your battery to get it to start?
Not bad at all to take apart
not really, it's quite fast in fact. Just a bunch of screws to take out.

I've got one. First time in 3 years I've had to adjust anything on it. I found it 1 and a half turns is enough to get you started. And it doesn't need to be running like a raped ape. Just get it idling easy and running good when the trigger is pulled. Conservative adjustments are your key.
thanks for the advice
I have one. I just replaced the purge bulb and fuel lines and filters. It does what I want it do. I like it more now that I know more about how it works,
I have to agree with you on that.
I have this blower, i replaced the carb, spark plug, air filter, piston, crank seals, new gas and STILL cant get it to run...any ideas?? 😟
if you confirmed spark, have you considered checking the compression of the engine?
@HomeGaragechannel well I don't have a Guage to check it, but I have a new piston in there and it sounds really compressed when I pull the rope to try to start it...
Hey bro what's up? To me it dosen't matter what brand of equipment a person uses but as for me, I know that you know where I stand with a certain brand of equipment. If this is what a person is able to afford and it is able to get their work done then by all means get it and get work done.
I like the way you put that
@@HomeGaragechannel thanks bro👍👍
You did a great job
thank you
Anytime
Great video👍🙏👍🙏
Thank you very much!
May be electronic interference, some radio frequency interfere with magneto!!😊
Hello i have a chainsaw that was running the day before but now wont start because it has no spark, do you know what could have happened?
unfortunately no, I'd only be guessing but do me a favor and try starting it today but don't use the choke and squeeze the throttle if that's possible on your model
You were right! when i squeese the throttle there is spark but not when im not pressing it down do you know the reason?
what liquid are you dipping rubber that into?
it's brake fluid
What for hose dit you use
To clean it
I think you're asking me about the "type" of watering system I'm using? Well it's a paint sprayer from Harbor Freight.
well for me it does differ but yeah the old Husqvarna aka Husky type,s are a good unit etc.
agreed
No, the simple solution is to adjust it properly. Not tear it down, but a new carb, (needlessly) and replace it.
I understood this comment completely
These are cheap big box store homeowner blowers. Have seen 4 with scored piston, rings, and cylinder in last 2 years. You have already done a video on His what na 125B blower, and I said the same thing.
yes you are correct
blue exhaust. why?
I think you mean to say "why Is the smoke coming out of the muffler? If so it's not blue, it's more like light black, almost grey.
Something that would start one day and not the next? Yup... 1969 Harley sportster. Lol.
LOL!!!
"love dealing with headaches"......funny.
more annoying that anything else
👍👍👍👍👍
thank you
Bad Carb Diaphragm and Carb Adjustment 😩😭👍🏼
yes you are correct, it was a combination of carb issues, along with a flooded engine.
That blower is looking like it is a blower / leaf vacuum
I'm not sure on that but I can see what it looks that way.
@@HomeGaragechannel okay 👍😎👍
From day one, I have nothing but problems with this blower.
sorry to hear that.
Some smoke out of it ,wrong fuel mix ...🤔
I think there was sum oil and fuel in the muffler that was burning off.
I have one ,total junk! Replaced ignition coil twice and the carb once. Never again!
sorry to hear that
I have no need for a blower here. Nice fix on that one though.
thank you
You just like cleaning carbs don't you come on admit it 🤣
LOL!!!! you got me!
I have this one and I can’t stand the design.
I know right
