- This is a video from when Fishlocker junior and I went to check our crab pots one morning, we caught some cracking lobsters!!! Then a couple of days later on another session we did a bit of fishing with the little mans own fishing rod. We float fished live prawn along some rocks and an old pier with the little man smashing it with his first and then PB bass - which really put up a fight!!! Amazing father son moment.

@@TheFishLocker used to take my daughters Rudd fishing when they weren’t much older than him. We used to go shore fishing at port madoc and Teignmouth. Used to finish up giving holidaymakers lessons in how to unhook and fillet mackerel they’d caught with their holiday fishing kits! Very happy memories!

He's a sweet little boy you have, there. It touches my heart deeply to see you take time with James to teach him how to fish. Brings back the days when our two kids were learning to fish. The time our son caught a catfish, he was so excited until he got it into the boat and it fell off the hook. He got real quiet and pulled his feet up onto the boat seat. He knew that catfish have spines on their fins and they could stick you and hurt. They're fun to catch, but we never ate them. I prefer salt water fish.
I could watch these videos of you and James all day. I love the excited face when James reels "the big one" in and when he took his foot and give the extra "oooF" to get it in. I was actually yelling "go James go!' I really wish UA-cam had a "Heart" button.

Just can not figure how anybody could dislike a father and his son fishing!! Some people just have nothing better to do than run around disliking videos. Or just jealous of it!! Great day of fishing even if ya didnt get anything. Great father!!
- I completely agree, some folks are just negative and we have a few trolls which are rival channels. They subscribe just to dislike the vids immediately. Sad really. And as for the days fishing. This is my favourite on screen moment so far. I don't care if I don't catch a thing, a day spent like this with my little lad is gold to me. :D

Brilliant moment and a priceless memory for dad and son! I had 3 daughters, all grown up now but they used to go fishing with 'Dad' and watching their faces when they caught their first fish (whiting) was, is an unforgettable gold moment, Used to take my little brothers too and one of them, who now lives in California is an avid sea angler who recently sent me a video clip of catching Salmon not far from the Golden gate bridge drifting on a boat, he was catching huge fish.
I think young James will one day have his own 'Son of Fish Locker' YT channel! Great to see Father and son interacting and your natural history knowledge makes a walk in the countryside a learning event, far more interesting than sat in a class room! Again, Well done young James and Well done 'Fish locker' for being a top notch Father and angler/forager! I look forward to watching all your videos!

Why I enjoy your videos; 1) you educate us in a humble manner as you film, b) you clearly understand your subject matter, c) you treat your audience like you yourself would want to be spoken to and educated, and finally d) you involve your son and wife who you clearly love and respect. I think your show and you as a host, father and husband are top notch. -From a father of a 9 year old and sea lover (fishing, crabbing, musseling, mostly)

Great video John, I love the encouragement that you give to James. I never had a son, but I do have A Daughter, although she's never been interested in fishing. My Daughter has blessed me with three Grandsons who are now, 23, 26, and 30 respectively, and since they were young un's I've never been able to get them interested in fishing either, preferring their computer games. If I can last out, I'll have to try to get Great Grandchildren interested if I can. Although you most certainly do I'm sure, Treasure these precious moments with your Son, he's a complete joy!

So December 18th makes 24 years since we lost my dad very suddenly one morning. The last thing he and I ever did together was to go run trotlines the morning before, and those days will always be the ones i remember the fondest.
Good job dad, I'm glad I stumbled across your channel, even if we're worlds apart.

You cannot teach stupidity when it comes to the sea, it just comes naturally and seems to be more abundant than intelligence, you held your tongue really well with that boater coming that close, especially with you son on the boat, i dont know that id have been that civil to him. on a lighter note though its great to see James learning the ways of float fishing, those were cracking fish that he caught, right little fish locker senior in the making, great video, am loving this channel, so glad to have found this, am grateful for the content you share with us, thank you, all the best to you, James and Mrs Fishlocker
