      You are very welcome! It is important to clean the top also, as the water is always in contact with the top. Glad it helped, thx for your support! 👍❤

    Thanks for posting. Maybe I did something wrong but I've just tried this and it didn't clean my kettle. Back to using commercial products for now.

      Thank you for your comment. It depends on the limescale state, you can also try to wait for the water to cool off and then use a sponge and clean the inside of the kettle with a sponge. I have found that helps also. Thank you for your experience anyway. All best. 👍👍

      @@rookie.handyman Hi and thank you for the extra advice. I might try again, using your added suggestions. The kettle does collect quite a lot of scale on the base and I tend to use Oust, which is amazingly good but more expensive than baking soda. 👍

      @fattyballaty3424 yes, usually the chemical solutions are more expensive, if there’s to much limescale bild up than you need to use chemicals, if you clean it regularly you can use baking soda. Good luck 👍

    I have a little rust minimul inside on the elm will baking soda remove it..???

    • @rookie.handyman
      @rookie.handyman  Рік тому

      Yes, baking soda will remove this rust, just make sure you make this rusty area wet and stick as much baking soda to this area (you want to have "pasta" like baking soda all over this place. Leave it to rest for 5-10 minutes and give it a good rub with a sponge, Rust should fall off easily. Good Luck and thx for your comment!

    I was looking at taps and anywhere where tap water is used and the amount of chemicals and lime scale from hard water building up is kind of scary…
    To think this stuff is going into peoples bodies is disgusting.
    If these things found in tap water can do this to a machine, what is it doing to peoples bodies???
    Might this be the reason so many people are so sick from drinking tea and coffee all the time after using tap water??
    I bought my mum and sister new kettles and told them to only use bottled water at level ph 7 in their letters as it is horrifying to think what’s going into their bodies from this water, and since using bottled water from the past week or 2 I have seen no evidence of limescale in their kettles.
    Even if you get a drop of water on a piece of glass you can see the chemical and limescale deposits on the glass and it is not even that much quantity of water.
    Look around and ask yourself these about these things, you should be worried about this stuff if you want to stay healthy and not destroy your body.

      Yes, tap water is usually pretty bad and it contains a lot of limescale and other chemicals, so if you can you should use bottled water 👍👍

    It would have been more helpful to see what the kettle looked like inside after cleaning.
