    Nail polish remover is Acetone. Very flamable and odorous. Maybe less volatile solvents will work also. What about Goof Off?

      Goof Off is an excellent idea, I just couldn't find any. Acetone can be dangerous, but it serves this purpose if you don't have anything else 👍

    I have a question how do I power a cut led strip

    • @rookie.handyman
      @rookie.handyman 5 днів тому

      A cut part of the LED strip you can power if you connect it to the little black adapter with the plug on it (you should get this together with your LED strip once you buy it). But, you also have to cut that adapter at the first cutting line closest to the adapter and then connect it to your desired LED strip. Hope this helps 👍

As for your “wrong screw” commenter , who gives a shit frankly, do your own critical thinking on your desk, table… why did wrong screws bother looking up such a simple topic anyway if they already knew? Thank you for your comment! Yes, I have seen Silver Cymbal's video, and it’s a great one-definitely inspired me to share my own take on the idea. In this video, I wanted to show how I’ve personally used this trick in my own scenarios, which I thought might resonate with my audience (I'm a superintendent in my building and I have changed a lot of overhead lights so I know how hard it is when you drop your screws). I truly appreciate your feedback and for taking the time to watch! 👍

    I have yet to make it, but a big box store has a tool that has a telescoping handle with a broom like span on the other end with magnets inset in the plastic. Because I am working in mud (and dirt), gravel, grass, any outdoor environment really except woods and forests, I’m thinking of making something exactly like that (maybe even recycling the whole product except the magnets) and using even stronger magnets, and insetting them in some kind of epoxy or maybe even construction adhesive like loctite PL 3X. I have tried that light trick in the past in machine rooms and works exceptionally well. Not so much where all your standing and working in is rocks and gravel. Hoping the stronger magnets will work

    • @rookie.handyman
      @rookie.handyman 8 днів тому

      I agree, the flashlight won't help you a lot outdoors, but magnets for sure will. It comes down to making the easiest solution (and the most portable also). Thank you for your insights and I hope you end up making one solution that works best for you. 👍

    To be honest, if You drop a screw in an area, it is unlikely it will have travelled too far giving their shape. They tend to drop and rotate in a circular motion! You should be able to find it in a few seconds at most. If not, just get a brush, and sweep the nearby area, I bet it isn't further than a few feet away! (Unless You throw it blindly across your garage that is!) lol EDIT: The torch idea isn't a bad one, but probably not really required! Also, useless in daylight!

    I have a better method: I never drop a screw! JK. I would say that having a variety of "things" on my floor like a rug or other soft things on a hard floor helps because I dropped one the other day opening my computer case and I heard it hit the table, bounce to the floor then hit the soft thing but guess what? I check the soft thing, I check inside it, even move it and there was nothing. The screw teleports away.

    • @rookie.handyman
      @rookie.handyman 8 днів тому

      This was the easiest way to emphasize that they can cause damage. If you have ever run your car tire over a sharp screw, then you know that 99% of the time, the screw ends up in the tire, whether it was upwards or lying on the floor it doesn't matter, it just rolls with the tire and it gets stuck in there. Unfortunately, this is my experience with screws and tires 🤣

    Flashlight is ok, best is to either catch them up mid-fall or follow the fall and the bouces, it's a skill you can improve, also you can "pre-look" the range of the first bounce when you know the weight, size and shape of the screw + floor material. I have below average sight so I can't track glasses/watch screws 100% of the time, but most people should be able to

    • @rookie.handyman
      @rookie.handyman 8 днів тому

      If it's a bigger screw, yes, I agree you can track it while it's falling down and you can probably see where it ends. But in my case, with these small overhead light screws, it's already somewhere on the ground while I turn my head down, and being on the ladder, I sure do avoid any sudden mover (like trying to catch it mid-air) That is an excellent tip, trying to catch it or looking at it while it falls down, thank you for sharing it 👍👍

      @@rookie.handyman For grass and leaves l use a magnet with handle, because a strong magnet with bare hands will send that screw flying and stick your finger.

      @ This method works great for flat surfaces, if you want to look for screws in grass or thick carpets, you can use any magnet you have (the back of a big speaker also works). Sorry for not mentioning this in the video

    Working as a interiordesigner i drill with a Hilti TE series with a HSS drill in the machine. The one mistake you make, is that you forget to blow or suck the dust out. Dust works like a seperator in between wall and plug, or that glue that you use. Good luck with making new videoos😊

      You are absolutely right - that's an important step I usually follow, but didn't show it in the video. I appreciate you pointing it out. As an interior designer, if you have any other tips for drilling into walls, we’d love to hear them.🙂 Thanks again for watching and supporting the channel! 🙏

    Professional mechanic here. That's how I quickly find dropped screws or any other small items - except I can't turn off all the lights in the shop every time I drop something, and often the thing I'm looking for isn't shiny. The trick for me is the shadow caused by the flashlight beam shining across the object. Even with the shop all lit up by overhead lighting, the focused beam of the flashlight still causes a noticeable shadow. Of course, any other small objects also become visible, so if the floor hasn't been swept recently there can be plenty of tiny things catching your attention that aren't the tiny thing you're looking for. lol

    • @rookie.handyman
      @rookie.handyman 9 днів тому

      A great tip to look for the shadow, that's exactly how I find them, and also, if the screw is too small, it will give you a small reflection on your flashlight light, so if you don't see a shadow - look for reflection and you will find it. 👍 And yes, every time I do this it becomes clear I don't clean my garage nearly enough - maybe we should lose screws more often so we get reminded to clean our garages more often? 🤔🤔

    I noticed that your cordless drill also had a hammer drill setting. Did you put the cordless on the hammer setting because otherwise it would not be a good comparison. Another thing to also point out is the type of drill bit. A lot of people don't know what bits to use with concrete.

    • @rookie.handyman
      @rookie.handyman 14 днів тому

      Yes, of course, on the hammer option and speed 2, but as this is a concrete wall mixed with gravel, it's very dense and requires more drilling power-something that a battery-operated impact driver can't deliver. That's a good point for the type of drill bits used, I didn't mention that, and that could be a separate video comparison for sure, thx for the idea 👍

      @@rookie.handyman actually I got the delivery of my new Casio f 91w watch yesterday. But due to one of my silly mistakes I brought a little bit of scratches on it. So that's why I was asking whether this method is applicable or not.

    • @rookie.handyman
      @rookie.handyman 15 днів тому

      @a_true_devotee_of_kk_sir You can always try toothpaste - it's effective for surface scratches. clean the glass with a clean cloth, apply a small amount of toothpaste on it, use a microfiber cloth to rub the toothpaste in using small circular motions, and do it for 2-3 minutes. This works on acrylic watch glass for surface scratches - I'm not sure what your Casio f91w glass is made from, but it's worth the try 👍

    The button you said was a cancel button is not a cancel button, it adjusts the distance of cars ahead of you 1 2 3 or 4. And when you press that your cruise control will not cancel. Also if you're going at a speed of 20 mph or over you only need to press the cruise control button once and you will be moving and staying at that speed. If you were to stop sign I want to recon you recruiters control from the speed at which you were going prior to stopping, you only need to press the button in instead of up or down.. The up or down button has another position and that is pressing in. If you go to stop sign and you wish to turn on cruise control the cruise control will automatically get you up to 20 mi an hour until you adjust it to a higher speed if you need to. 40 km or whatever you said is not a setting that means anything.
