Fantastic thank you. I used half a cup as close to 50 grammes of citric powder. Cleaned my cistern, my toilet bowl, my kettle, my CPAP humidifier plate and my washing machine is on clean cycle now.
Also dissolve about a cup of citric acid in another cup of water, pour into toilet tank, let sit for an hour, flush--all stains on toilet tank are removed--no scrubbing.
Mixing the baking soda with the citric acid neutralizes it so you only get the abrasive effect instead of the desired effect of the acid removing the hardwater buildup. You'd think people making these videos spreading this information would be aware of this with an elementary school level of education.
Pretty sure it takes a bit for it to neutralize. So when you mix them right at the time you want the effect to work, you're fine. He's going for the fizz reaction. I would have figured anyone with an elementary level education would know not to be so rude... I'm not sure what you were going for, but if you were trying to insinuate that the poster only has an elementary level education, that's way beyond just rude.
@@JillyBean_1987also I was insinuating that he DIDN'T have an elementary level of education from myself saying "if he had an elementary level of education then he would know this." Which just goes to show your reading comprehension skills yourself.
@@thatcrazyfriend that's exactly my point. If you wanna talk about reading comprehension, I pretty much just told you you're an asshole for shitting on this man and basically calling him stupid. You're just a bully... which is easy to do on the Internet. You're quick to insult someone you don't even know over a short video clip. Edit: typos
he also doesn't explain why mixing baking soda with citric acid works better. No indication of chemical knowledge anywhere in this video, which is why you should take his tips with a grain of salt.
Fun Fact: you can create a bomb with citric acid, water and baking soda 1. Put 50 gm of baking soda and citric acid in a dry small bottle 2. Add water and close the cap and run
Here's a giggle: Hubby was a US Marine when younger, on a big ship, working in galley. They used lemonade concentrate on the stainless steel floors as a cleaner!
Doesn't the adding of baking soda neutralize the efficacy of the citric acid? One (citric acid) is acidic and the other (baking soda) is alkaline, thus neutralizing each other!!!!

Great tip on sink cleaning! Thank you. But I have a question: Doesn't baking soda neutralize citric acid -like it does vinegar?

@thatcrazyfriend Right? I think the fizz sold it. 🤭

LOL
just place the shower head in the bowl of citric acid water and skip the unnecessary and inefficient paper towel step
but but....can you make lemonade with it?

Why did you call the plastic wrap "foil"?
because he is German and this was the translation that most closely resembles the German word for plastic wrap (Plastikfolie)

idem pour le vinaigre et le bicarbonate de soude
Wish you would explain how to measure out 50 grams of DRY powder without a laboratory scale.
About half a cup.
Actually, Alexa says 50g of citric acid powder is 1/4 cup
this also works really good on aluminium rims on car/motorcycle BUT remember to adjust the PH to neutral or 7-8ph with Ammonium
Geil!
