Nothing comes up under the history tab as it says we haven't played any tournaments. New to this online bridge and just playing casual bridge with friends at our own table.
So pleased to have a focus point 3 times a week. Have played one session of casual bridge on BBO with 3 friends. Is there a way to pause the game at the end of each hand, when the hands are revealed, so we can discuss? It goes so quickly to the next hand.
Probably the easiest way is to play some hands, then look at your history tab. This lists the hands you have played, with the bidding. You can even step through the play. If you and your friends all look at the same hand, you can discuss it or seek to apportion blame!
If you type +slow+ in the table description it stops the system throwing you off if you're taking too long. The next hand will still be dealt but if you click on the IMP's button it shows the cards from the previous hand and what other tables bid & made etc. You can also look at double dummy which shows the best lead.
Justine Davies thank you for your reply. We are new to online bridge. Where is the table description box? I simply log on click ‘casual’ and then ‘start a new table’. I then add friends to the table. We played tonight and none of us could find the box you are peaks of. Hank you for trying to help us. Hilary
@@hilarymitchell5559 It should just come up when you select 'start a table' - I've tried to add a screenshot on here but it won't let me. It's at the top of the section where you can change the table privacy settings to allow/disallow kibitzers and permission required to play etc. Hope that helps!
Very informative and engaging - it's hard for me to catch these live because tz, so I am grateful you've uploaded them here. Another social media resource for bridge is Twitch www.twitch.tv/directory/game/Bridge Free and the twenty or so streams (and growing) all have a different take on commentary, play, and chat.
I have tried to register with Bridge Base to play with 3 regular friends and cant get my details to be accepted? I only have an Apple IPad and no PC. Is it true that Apple have blocked the registration as maybe that game not compatible? Would welcome any comment as so frustrating. Eileen
I have been using iPad and it does work. Only thing is the screen is not as clear, instruction wise. I think better to use laptop but iPad does definitely work. Have you tried using a different name. Maybe the one you have chosen has already been taken.
Thanks for info re your details on BBO. I logged in but found it difficult to find out where you were playing and when. I tried a couple of times and found you were online but not playing. Maybe if it’s ok you can indicate what time you will be playing and will it be just casual so there is more chance to have a spectate. Having said that I’m sure you wouldn’t want too many spectators! I’m not sure if there is a limit anyway? Anyway thanks for the 3 sessions on utube last week, very enjoyable and look forward to more.
Almost all experts use them, because they promote more accurate bidding. 1D - 1H (1S) / 2S = sound raise to 3H, 4 trumps and c.10 high card points. By contrast, 1D - 1H (1S) / 3H would be obstructive, fewer high cards, but possibly a bit more distributional, certainly less useful in defence
Sorry, mistake, it would have been c.10 points if made by responder. Here it was opener, so should be a 6-loser hand with good defensive values. The direct 3H likely to be 6/7 losers with good distribution and not as much as you might expect in defence.
THANK YOU
Ty for great session & keeping Bridge Alive for us Bridge Addicts...my tv was jumping around & flickering but watched later on Ipad 👍
Again. Good thank you.
many thanks very helpful and enjoyable
Just opened a subscription. About to try more
Thank you, I’ve found it. As I play on an iPad it’s right at the top and not very clear. All sorted. Keep safe.

I might X and leave it up to East to choose H or D
4 people can use What’s App vidéo if they are in a group. You then phone the group.
It works perfect like that as you can do that from your phone, while your laptop/tablet can be used to play bridge
How

What is your BBO name Bernard? So we know who to watch!

Thanks Bernard - it all seems so easy until I get the cards in my hand
We’ve really enjoyed the first three broadcasts. They will give a real focus for three days of the week in the near future. Thank you, Bernard.

Really engaging and good first week, thank you.
4 people can use WhatsApp
Another great seminar
I'm really enjoying it. My only regret is that my regular partner hasn't worked out how the Internet works...or what to do...
Quiz 3 This seems to be an exception to the change of suit "rule". Are there other exceptions?
Thank you for all your help.
Great sessions. Can we limit the social chit chat a bit as sometimes it's difficult to see the bridge related comments . They go by too fast!
3 Hearts. Showing a fit in hearts and a 6 loser hand. Asking partner to bid game if he has 6 losers or less or pass with 7 losers.
Really enjoying these seminars - thank you!
How good is unassuming cue bid?
