So, the success of the BMC is going to be how many people sign up for it in its original state. I think the mods to make the Lean Canvas are appropriate, and that is the problem. I have worked with over 100 startups - and other companies - and the BMC is a nice starting point, and ending point, but the middle ground is left for want. Here is why - when you are at first doing your early customer experimentation, you can keep things simple. At the end, you can summarize your success in the BMC/Lean Canvas. In the middle however, there are simply more dimensions and there is more depth to each dimension to contain on the BMC. These mods to the BMC - are more dimensions(!) So you can't contain the model to only 9 boxes. I am trying to find a video'ed recording of an actual company BMC session to see how you come to meaningful, actionable outcomes. One 9-sector sheet does not satisfy all the elements you are going to have to perfect to reach commercial viability - struggling with this. Cheers ----
