I have a 450, 455, 266 and a 272. They are all phenomenal. I mostly use my 450 with a 20" bar. That machine runs like a banshee. I also have 2 Poulan wild thing chainsaw. Yes, Poulan is made by Husqvarna. Great video. Thx
I have 455 rancher and that thing is a beast and a bit heavy for me but great for cutting logs. The 450 I use mainly for cutting down trees. I have both of them. And the 450 is my favourite because it’s lighter to carry. Great power to weight ratio.
The 450 cuts like a hot knife through butter..! I just got mine recently with the 20" bar and cut through some logs about that same size.. I'm glad I bought it. I plan to keep it sharp and do the regular maintenance.. keep it running as a great saw! keep fresh gas!
Chainsaw comparisons are tricky. Without running the same bar and chain, you have added variables. The 455 is not tuned as well as the 450 and the chain seems better on the 450. That said, people sleep on the 50cc saws but they all rip.
I put a 28in bar on my 455 and did a few mods to the saw and I love it. I would buy a echo590 if I were looking for a cheaper firewood saw but I doubt the 450 could run a long bar as good. The 455 barely puts enough oil on the chain and thats with the oiler turned wide open
No doubt for me, if you're not a professional and want an all-around chainsaw, go for the 450 which I chose ! The 455 is just 8% more powerful but is 22% heavier ! Less than 5 kg is much better than 6 kg, believe me ! But if you don't mind carrying hours long a 6 kg chainsaw, you'd better go for the 460 rather than the 455 ! Actually, the 455 has no reason to remain in the catalog.
@@seanpuffer8436 the 460 is the same saw with a bigger stroke crank. 32mm stroke instead of 30 in the 455. will make the 460 5cc bigger, and 0.2 more hp. the weight is about the same.
Would love to see a comparison using one bar & chain switched between saws. no variation in sharpness, bar wear, etc. that way. Am very pleased with my new 455 Rancher for general yard work. It runs circles around my old 42 Special. Would have been equally happy owning either of these saws. I went to the store to buy the lighter, less expensive 450 but they were sold out so I bought the last 455 in stock.
455 is heavy for 1 reason its a firewood cutting saw there super reliable units though. I use a 445 as my all rounder its a few pounds lighter than the rancher and much more suited to felling
Love the 445 ,?was going to get the 460 but an 18 “ bar is pretty well perfect for the trees I’m dropping. I’ve cut over 30 faces with it this summer and I’ll tell you try out some different chains
Yeah. Always look at the cuttings in these comparison videos as well as the conditions of the test and the tuning. I hear some bog and off carb tuning in some of these videos
I was trying to see if the chain on my 455 could be exchanged with 450 . The 455 chain looks thinner and slightly smaller . When I put it on it clicked ? My 455 blew a piston but I have 3 nice chains . The 455 chain looks wimpy but if it’s thinner it will cut quicker? Less wood chip smaller wood chip.
Great review! Just a friendly advice how to pronounce the Swedish brand Husqvarna. You seem to pronounce it like "Huskeywarna", but the correct way would be more like "hoosk-VAR-na" or "huusk-VAR-na".
Aia e👍. Lantul e praf...dar multi se uita ,putini cunosc, mai ales ca am modelul asta de drujba si stiu cum taie...si am mai vazut multe clipuri unde unele modele erau "trase-n jos" din lant pt a evidentia alte modele ori alte marci
The 455 should have .2 more hp, Which isnt much, but id say something else is going on there. Light heatedly tell your dad to stay out of the dirt with his chain.
All right - let's try to pronounce the brand name 'Husqvarna' correct. It is NOT pronounced like 'Haskevarna' - it's a Swedish name and the correct pronounciation is 'Huus-kvarna' (which also happens to be the name of the Swedish town the company origins from).

I use and love my legendary 455 rancher, my buddy loves his 450! They are both EXCELLENT saws! Can't go wrong with either!
Sure, the 455 is a very good saw but it's too heavy for the power IMO. For the same weight, the 460 is a good choice.
@@vzmax Problem with the 460 is at that price point you may as well just bump up to the 550xp mark 2!?
@@johnagen3688 That's why I think the very best choice is the 450...
455 is better 2 bar nuts, adjustable oiler, better oil and gas caps, ability to run a 24 inch bar.

The 450 is a beast .before i had a 350 and it whas also a great saw!

It's my lightest saw

Me and my brother own a 450 rancher and a 455 rancher and we absolutely love both of them
Nice comparison, I just picked up a nice 450 Husky a few days ago and it cuts like butter. Love it.

What 20” did you go for? I didn’t think they fit on the 450 but would love to fit one on mine! Many thanks 🙂
Should've used the same chain, that's the only accurate way to tell which is quicker
Run the same comparison in 6 months to is if the 455 opens up a little with break in? Seems like it needs some adjustment.
Ok tks for the feed back

As would I
The question is which saw is sharper are they equally as sharp?
455 rancher new chain
450 chain sharpened

Yes indeed its a great saw we also have a 55 rancher and 2 450 they all work great
You just showed me how to cut properly with a chainsaw 👍
Thanks
Be aware of binding if new to chainsaws

The 455 sounds like it is running lean
Ewe did have the same fuel mixture in both saws but we will re doo a video with same sized bars and new chains
Great point! .
I have (2) 55s, 435, 440, 445, 450 and (3) 455s all do about the same job all cut wood !
Yes there all great saws
The chain on the 455 was not sharp at all. It looked like dust and not chunks of wood and that tells me the chain was not sharp.
Amazingly powerful
440 gets the job done for a lot more trees than you think. Just need to get a custom chain on it.

Sorry the 450 chain is thinner and wimpier . The 455 chain is thicker and more robust.
the 450 is probably a .325
The 455 sounds like it has much lower RPM. BTW I have the 450e and would never change it for any other.
Love my 450e!!!! Puts the rancher 455 under the table
They both spin at 9000 rpm

Until you get to a HV 460 they are Poulan saws with different color plastic.
but you can put the 460 piston in the 455
I prefer 455 but 450 will always do fine
Yes they both get the job done
The 450 walkes all over the 455 , ive used both . Why the 455 exists i dont know.
Because if you put a sharp chain on it it will cut faster.

By the size of the chips being thrown, it looked to me that the chain on the 450 was a lot sharper.
Best damn saw I ever owned besides a sthil 039 farm boss 20 inch my 455 was stolen today and now I've no way to cut my fire wood or to make my living.
Is there a big difference in the 450 vs 450 rancher. Confused. Are they different saws.
450 husqvarna and the 455 rancher is a bit more powerfull
455 chain îs extrem dull, IT throws only dust not chips
WAS IT 450 e !!!! OR RANCHER 450???
450 e
The 455 didn’t sound like the chain was letting it eat. Surprisingly, as much as a new loop of chain costs, they’re not always sharp out of the box.
Good point but we will refilm with the new chain since alot of people want to see it

The 455 was def slower , put a 16 on that 450 they are savages with a 16 inch pixel bar and chain
Which bar is that? Did you mean 3/8" LP?
Se le puede adaptar una cadena 25"
I have seen chainsaw racing and I think 🤔 the saw has been on the ground engine off at the start.
455 cut through the knot hard wood thats why it took longer than the 450.
If it says rancher count on slow!
id say the technique on the 1st cut was better
