Dark Ruler No More is actually a story card. Namely it follows the war between Dark Ruler Ha Des and Dark King of the Abyss that occasionally gets continued every couple years or so on card art. FYI, there’s also one where the angel on the Forbidden cards gets cast into hell by the guy on the Solemn cards and she creates an army of Darklords and has now not only overthrown him but corrupted his lady friends as well. My favorite story from the art is Sangan’s tour through the underworld as it references not only a lot of fan favorite cards but mirrors his time on and off the ban list (especially as many of the folks he meets are those that have been on the ban list since forever such as Graceful Charity).

Been watching a lot of your videos and im currently running a Dark Magician deck. I was surprised to know the Dark Magician Dragon Knight / Eternal Soul wasn’t a common combo given it gives an almost permanent omni-protection for both cards, considering DMDK becomes “Dark Magician” while on the field and GY. Meaning DMDK becomes immune to all card effects while at the same time becoming a resource for tributing and special summoning for the Dark Magician / Dark Magic Circle combo and on top of it protecting both Eternal Soul and Dark Magic Circle from anything besides someone like Jinzo with its non targeting blanket negate. Anyways, keep up the good content!

I love how you made this video right after farfa released a video of dark magician winning a tournament against blue eyes white dragon. It's a locked tournament of those 2 themes but dark magician won
This is what inevitably will happen in a post apocalyptic yugioh. After both yugi and joey die, dark magician knows that he won't be able to survive together, and kills red-eyes in order to become the ultimate wizard in terms of attack and defense, carrying the friendship knowing it's what Joey would have wanted.
what's fuckin' weird is Eternal Soul IS in Duel Links, but it's not available for the player. It's only used by Yami Yugi during the Tag Duel Tournament.
Amazing thing about Apprentice Illusion Magician; the effect that boosts another Dark Spellcaster does NOT target, so if you have Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon at 4000 ATK, and you're battling a 5000 Five Headed Link Dragon, you can send ALM to the GY to boost Dark Dragoon by 2000, making him at 6000 ATK
For a few moments I thought I lived in a magicial fantasy world where red eyes dark dragoon was already banned in the tcg and I didn't have to feel bad about not having it :'(
I play Eternal Soul/Dark Magician the Dragon Knight all the time against my friends and coworkers. Amazing combo, gives you a lot time to bring out even scarier monsters
Just play online? I gave up on collecting physical cards a long time ago. Too random and costly. I just wish Konami would make more and better full Yu-Gi-Oh games (at this point there should be an AR game on the phone and a super ambitious console game with all the anime gimmicks from every era). At least there's always YGOPRO.
Magicians' Souls alongside Contract With Don Thousand gives such a boost to cycling through the deck that it and Dark World/Danger are my main go-to generic draw engines. When not playing OCG unlimited Upstart Golbin and Chicken Game anyway. Sure, Don Thousand gives your opponent 1 card and costs 1000 LP, but with Magicians' Souls you inflict 1000 damage bypassing "effect damage" and "battle damage" clauses and draw at least 2 cards while getting a Level 1 Effect Monster for Link Summoning and putting a high Level Spellcaster in the Grave; making it a +1 on its own without accounting for sending a second Spell/Trap with Magicians' Souls or doing anything extra. The 1000 damage admittedly isn't very relevant, except for FTK decks where it can be the difference between bricking and winning the duel.
Same here. Plus if you play Night's End Sorcerer as a garnet you can banish two cards in your opponent's grave too, and of course there's that combo with Dark Magical Circle banishing one card on opponent's field
I absolutely loved playing the dark magicians. Usually you get at least 2 draws from it, on the turn its summoned, and on your opponent’s next turn by your or your opponents card triggering it. it floating into 2 more monsters on destuction is just the cherry on the cake.
I don't think it'll be banned anytime soon because that would mean people are using it and every boss monster nowadays has an omni-negate and card immunity. It's disgusting and busted, but not Very Fun Dragon busted.
It's not used that often, also, requires 3 garnets to play outside of a dark magician deck, Dark Magician Red Eyes Black Dragon Red eyes fusion If you draw any of these you're already in a bad spot with a garnet in your hand and/or forced to activate red eyes fusion the normal way
I love how honest this is. Its 100% correct and DM fans would probably cry that you called half their cards bad lmao I am very self aware of how average half the DM cards are. Besides Dragoon and Souls, we dont have a lot going on LMAO
I mean, you kinda mentioned it in the comparison with MAX, but I do think that dark magician of chaos deserves its own place too seeing how it was a meta defining card in a good few historical formats. And often hovers in the limited to banned range.
As a note for Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon, if you play Cyber Stein in a Gren Maju deck alongside Soul Absorption you can summon 3 copies of Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon from your Extra Deck because it doesn't have the "Must be Fusion Summoned" clause and only likes to be Fusion Summoned for its monster destruction effect. And you can use all 3 of their negation effects, as they are not a hard once per turn. As an example of how this works, an example starting hand: Soul Absorption Eater of Millions Pot of Desires Cyber Stein Gizmek Orochi, the Serpentron Sky Slasher (or any means to get it in the grave, e.g. Foolish Burial) Playing Soul Absorption, using Pot of Desires, summoning Orochi, and banishing 5 cards with Eater of Millions will give 11500 Life Points - taking you to 19500 Life Points. Then you can bring out Cyber Stein and activate its effect 3 times to summon all 3 copies of Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon, albeit without their effect from being Fusion Summoned. From there you can even go on to use Cyber Stein and Gizmek Orochi for Link Summons, Cyber Stein in particular can go in to Link-1 monsters, particularly if it was Normal Summoned. (See "Salamangreat Almiraj", which can further go into "Secure Gardna")
Hey, could you cover the Six Samurai Archetype, it's my favorite archetype and really would like some insight on playing my deck better. Thank you, love the channel
Magi Magi ☆ Magician Gal not getting released for censorship has been shaky in recent years since Konami has been doing campaigns of releasing cards with their OCG artworks. Sure it would be pricey, but I see no reason why the cards not released due to the censorship headache can't be released via that.
Can you do the top 10 “Red eyes black dragon” cards? You did Yugi’s and Kaiba’s main card, so it sounds fitting to finish the main three duelist from the main anime before jumping to other cards.
I love how Dark Magician and Blue Eyes have the best support and you never know which deck will win. Im a bit late but Happy Birthday. Mine is in a month
I feel Secrets of Dark Magic should be somewhere on the list because it's their searchable quick-play fusion card, and Keeper of Dragon Magic should get an honorable mention even though it's not explicitly part of the archetype. Dark Magician the Dragon Knight is also still very powerful even with the existence of Dragoon.
Dragonite is actually really common in dark magician Because dark magician the dragon Knight changes his name to dark magician so he gains all the same protections from Eternal soul
Technically the Eye of Timaeus isn't a Dark Magician card, but it is. It lets you do a one card fusion to get some of the best fusion monsters out. With just a Dark Magician, you can get out The Dark Magicians, Dark Paladin, Amulet Dragon, Dark Magician the Dragon Knight, Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon, and whatever they release in the future. While the Dark Magician has to be on the field to use this card, the archetype as so many ways to do it that it's super easy to activate.
It’s that pesky localization team again. The original says “ a Dark Magician monster”, which, to my knowledge only counts DM and DMG. The rest with DM in the name in english didn’t originally. It’s Rainbow Neos all over again. Edit: Wow, I remembered Timaeus wrong. Keeping this here for other info, though.
@@pyrotempestwing It does say "Dark Magician monster", which are just Dark Magician, Dark Magician Girl, and Skilled Dark Magician (which has no fusion cards), I just used Dark Magician as the example because 99/100 times, you'll be using Dark Magician or a card treated as Dark Magician and not Dark Magician Girl.
Don't know if you missed this, but another huge part of why Magician of Black Chaos MAX is much weaker than Azathot is that you can just handtrap its effect if you have imperm or something. With Azathot, it's a summon that doesn't start a chain combined with an effect that is not preventable by any means once its summoned, so Azathot also had the flexibility of being able to be summoned on your turn to prevent the opponent's hand traps from activating while you built your board or OTK'd.

red eyes dark dragoon looks like dark magician if he skinned red eyes black dragon.
More like Dark Paladin lol
@@Yami_Duelist haha yeah
This is what inevitably will happen in a post apocalyptic yugioh. After both yugi and joey die, dark magician knows that he won't be able to survive together, and kills red-eyes in order to become the ultimate wizard in terms of attack and defense, carrying the friendship knowing it's what Joey would have wanted.
happy birthday, I enjoy your content.
what's fuckin' weird is Eternal Soul IS in Duel Links, but it's not available for the player.
Thank you for letting us know!
Top 10 Red-Eyes Black Dragon Cards
I really want Magician's Soul, but I also really don't wanna spend $100 on one card
Just spend $100 opening packs instead and then ask yourself why you spent $100 on cards without even getting the one you wanted
@@sirswagabadha4896 I'll rephrase. I don't want to spend $100 on a YGO card(s) in general 😂
@@CTR_ALT_MAKIMA reprints is almost inevitable if this card is used in every deck.
No Dark Magician Girl..
Soap trusted you. I thought I could too. So why in bloody hell, does Makrov know you??!
I would've put Dark Paladin in as an honorable mention at least.
Always loved that card.
I feel that dark magician just needs more support. That draw back effect on eternal soul is just so devastating
Even when it doesn't need more support, I will want more support for it. I love Yugioh's magicians.
I think Navigation should be on the list. Being able to bring out two monsters is really good and its negate is handy too.
Same here. Plus if you play Night's End Sorcerer
as a garnet you can banish two cards in your opponent's grave too, and of course there's that combo with Dark Magical Circle banishing one card on opponent's field
the problem with navigation is that you can only activate it when you have dark magician in your hand
Ayyyy my request viddy! Thank you!
I'm kinda surprised Red-eyes fusion didn't make the cut...it does support dark magician after all😅😅
Pot of greed can support dark magicians too, doesn't make it a DM card.
Eternal Soul. One of the win condition of the deck, but also the reason why Dark Magician will never be meta
Jesus fucking christ why are a lot of these so expensive? So a good dark magician deck would cost you nearly a grand and it's not even meta! wtf...
I absolutely loved playing the dark magicians. Usually you get at least 2 draws from it, on the turn its summoned, and on your opponent’s next turn by your or your opponents card triggering it. it floating into 2 more monsters on destuction is just the cherry on the cake.

Oh, happy birthday and thanks for doing a dark magician top ten list my favorite card
Top 10 best red eyes cards
Happy birthday!
One of the last Top 10 appearances for Dragoon before heading off to the land of The Tyrant Neptune and friends.
I don't think it'll be banned anytime soon because that would mean people are using it and every boss monster nowadays has an omni-negate and card immunity.
It's disgusting and busted, but not Very Fun Dragon busted.
It's not used that often, also, requires 3 garnets to play outside of a dark magician deck,
Dark Magician
Red Eyes Black Dragon
Red eyes fusion
If you draw any of these you're already in a bad spot with a garnet in your hand and/or forced to activate red eyes fusion the normal way
Why would they ban a card only rogue decks play?
@@shis1988 he probably means top 10 duellog banlist. Where duellog ban cards because he place them too often in his list.
Soul Servant doesn’t need to have Dark Magician or DMG in your field or grave specifically. It can be in either players grave or field.
Magician souls is so powerful it can destroy your wallet in one turn
Its expensive for no reason too, lol.
I love how honest this is. Its 100% correct and DM fans would probably cry that you called half their cards bad lmao
I am very self aware of how average half the DM cards are. Besides Dragoon and Souls, we dont have a lot going on LMAO
Red Eyes Dark Dragoon is an Eye of Timaeus target ._.
*Oh god*
Why Konami
tbh im rly interested in that cards that exist in the ocg but not the tcg? maybe a series like the why its banned for that kinda thing could be neat?
How about a "top / worst 10 cards that add (or use) spell counters"?
Magician Navigation I felt should've made this list.
I see Dark Magician, I click on the video, that simple.
I mean, you kinda mentioned it in the comparison with MAX, but I do think that dark magician of chaos deserves its own place too seeing how it was a meta defining card in a good few historical formats. And often hovers in the limited to banned range.
top ten r34 ygo artists
As a note for Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon, if you play Cyber Stein in a Gren Maju deck alongside Soul Absorption you can summon 3 copies of Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon from your Extra Deck because it doesn't have the "Must be Fusion Summoned" clause and only likes to be Fusion Summoned for its monster destruction effect. And you can use all 3 of their negation effects, as they are not a hard once per turn.
As an example of how this works, an example starting hand:
Soul Absorption
Eater of Millions
Pot of Desires
Cyber Stein
Gizmek Orochi, the Serpentron Sky Slasher (or any means to get it in the grave, e.g. Foolish Burial)
Playing Soul Absorption, using Pot of Desires, summoning Orochi, and banishing 5 cards with Eater of Millions will give 11500 Life Points - taking you to 19500 Life Points.
Top 10 Best Red Eyes cards
Dragoon again xD
black metal dragon is better than dragoon
@@Yami_Duelist it's between REDMD and black metal if we see by meta play. Dragon link FTW!!!
Hey, could you cover the Six Samurai Archetype, it's my favorite archetype and really would like some insight on playing my deck better. Thank you, love the channel
Oh yes Dark magician
Magi Magi ☆ Magician Gal not getting released for censorship has been shaky in recent years since Konami has been doing campaigns of releasing cards with their OCG artworks. Sure it would be pricey, but I see no reason why the cards not released due to the censorship headache can't be released via that.
Because Konami.
You forgot the best & strongest support of them all: Dark Magician Girl
Most beautiful*
Blue eyes is almost full power in duel links with a broken skill. Meanwhile DM decks over there only got circle and navigation
What a Chad, he released a video on his birthday for us.
How do you know for sure this is his birthday?
rituals inherently needing a minimum -3 to play is hard to balance around but MoBC Max is fun and the nostalgia hits hard.
First because I paid.
Can you do the top 10 “Red eyes black dragon” cards? You did Yugi’s and Kaiba’s main card, so it sounds fitting to finish the main three duelist from the main anime before jumping to other cards.
Idea for a Top 10: "Common/Weak card effects from MTG/HS/Pkm that would be broken in Yugioh"
I’m surprised you haven’t done this already.
I love how Dark Magician and Blue Eyes have the best support and you never know which deck will win.
Im a bit late but Happy Birthday. Mine is in a month
Good video as always and also happy birthday to you
I feel Secrets of Dark Magic should be somewhere on the list because it's their searchable quick-play fusion card, and Keeper of Dragon Magic should get an honorable mention even though it's not explicitly part of the archetype. Dark Magician the Dragon Knight is also still very powerful even with the existence of Dragoon.
I know this comment is old, but Secrets of Dark Magic needing the cards to be in hand or field is pretty annoying.
Happy birthday Bro
Happy birthday DL! And LETS GO DM
