Bro this is definately something we would like to keep seeing and also the hobby needs. From a casual, collector or investor prospective you explain not only the lore but the scarcity, price and community input these cards have which make it easy to know what to buy. Videos on blue eyes, red eyes and even time wizard would be amazing as each fit a good description and story to be told. As always thank you and great video
The DDS slander is real! For those that do not know. DDS was printed in very low quantities due to the game having to be pre ordered. We are talking quantities similar to 1st ed LOB. While SDY has way more printings. It should definitely be lob>dds>sdy

I like this video. I collect all dark magicians as well, the only ones I don't own are the DT previews and the OCG ones. After seeing that OCG ultimate rare, mabe I need to open up my horizons to collecting OCG cards, cuz that us beautiful.

I agree, why does Konami love the tablet artwork of blue eyes and dark magician so much. The JMPS-EN003 version of Dark Magician is actually the rarer version for the Kazuki Takahashi art work despite being a reprint. They were made in a smaller set than the JUMP version. It typically goes for more $ as well. I'd stay away from the JUMP version if possible between the two. This also applies to the JMPS version of the alternate art for Blue-Eyes White Dragon, which is a lot rarer than the JUMP version. JMPS was a very limited reprint of the JUMP cards, not as many copies were made. IMO they are the grail for the Kazuki Takahashi artwork cards because of how limited they were during production. Another interesting thing about that version of Dark Magician is that it is an alternate art for the white haired Arcana Dark Magician which most people don't realize.
Definitely think this is a series to keep, I mean the next two episodes write themselves blues and red eyes then you can ark out. I just went and bought like 5 dark magicians so I thank you 😂 great vid!

Perhaps I'm in the minority, but I personally love the tablet artwork for both Dark Magician and the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. For me it captures the Ancient Egyptian roots of these cards in the series.
would love to see you expand on this series for other cards in the future. One future video could be about the cards drawn and signed by Kazuki Takahashi. I feel like there's enough cards in that category to dedicate a full episode about.

Definitely a great type of video to the channel man, something like once a month would be perfect as it's a lot of information to take in. Maybe even 1 every 2 months. I would say you should do your favourite card of all time though, MAGICIAN OF BLACK CHAOS.
As a Dark Magician collector this video speaks volume to me about my expensive collection. I only collect dark magician cards released in the tcg. I own playsets of almost every dark magician cards released in the tcg (even the expensive ones such as DDS, RP01, 1st edition SDY, both BPT, Both Jump promos, etc), and all are near mint to mint condition. Right now I’m looking for a playset of LOB 1st edition Dark Magician near mint copies

If you really want look for very high end copies of dark magician such as DDS or 1st edition North American SDY prints are extremely popular in terms of collectibility. You’ll have to be very cautious of buying those prints because finding a near mint condition will be difficult to find. I don’t know what is your budget but they’re also other alternatives if you don’t want to spend too much money

Is there any difference between an asian english dark magician sdy-006 and regular english sdy-006 dark magician beside from the back of the card with the different font writing?
Actually there is a difference between JUMP and JMPS Dark Magicians. From one print to the other, they increased the size of the card artwork, which, combined with the borderless quality of the Kaz art cards, means that JMPS art is noticeably larger than the earlier JUMP print. Also, what's with the gold rare beef lol? I have the gold secret rare Blue-Eyes and Dark Magicians and I think they look great in the binder. Then again, I don't really care about max rarity or anything and I quite like the gold series of rarities, as polarizing as they are.

I believe it was a Shonen Jump promo, but not sure exactly where it was released. But it was the only english language version with Dark Magicians censored name released alongside a blue eyes

For DTP DM, some sites have 2 waves of dtp where one is listed as dt common parallel rare and the 2nd wave of preview matches the release as a rare rarity, but with the dtp1-en002 set id. Can you confirm if this is true or BS? Same with bewd and rebd. The first preview wave was listed as being common, then the second preview wave was listed as the rarity they were released as ie bewd as super, dm as rare, etc. Thanks for your content :)
You forgot to mentioned that for the SDY Dark Magician they’re also european and australian prints 1st edition are decent picks for those who still want the original artwork that’s kind of similar to the original but in terms of price the og North American prints outpaces it in terms of price As for the LOB Dark Magician they’re also euro and australian 1st prints are decent additions for people who does not want to an absurd price but still wants to own an LOB Dark Magician.
Honestly it doesn't matter what set it was printed or if it's 1st Ed or unli as long as I'm collecting legit/ valuable holographic cards, I'm fine with it. But of course the sdy is what really captures the art of the game.
I dont know if you heared about that set, it is premium pack 4 and it has gorgeus looking arcana dark magician, it is 1st one released and it in that artwork and foil pops up amazing, it is from 2001 i think and imo 10 times better than that legendary decks one lol
Hi, I've been collecting vanilla skull servants of all things and with yugipedia down it's really hard to find answers to some questions I have. did Spanish and Portuguese LOB get an unlimited printing? Did they both get US and EU printings and did they both get first and second first edition printings like US English LOB, in fact of all the Spanish and Portuguese printings over time did they all get EU and US printings? That would really complicate things lol and Korean editions, I'm missing 2 and have no clue where to find them. any good leads?

OCG is a whole other animal for collectors of Dark Magician. You’ve got the 20th Anniversary and PSEC for high rarity.
