I haven't spent a single dollar in Master Duel and I don't have a top-tier deck because I always spend my gems in fun decks. With them, I've managed to reach Platinum 1.
@@andresraffler, they can. But they're not so much when the competitive world of Yu-Gi-Oh influences casual players to play top decks, intentionally or not. That ends up with a bunch of players dueling with the same decks in most locals, tournaments, etc. And that is not fun at all...
@@andresraffler top tier decks aren’t as fun because by definition, as you get higher in rankings more people play them… you start to see the same deck over and over and it kinda stops being fun 😒
Prob will Second Anniversary or sometime later this year. I also expect a Red Eyes structure and additional support too since that will cover 3 main OGs
For those who doesn't want MD, the Salamangreat structure deck is also a great choice. The Zombie deck is pretty nice too but you will need some fragments to craft one of its Boss monster
I’m shocked at how good the deck is for f2p. So long as you fill it out with good staples you can get decently far with it. I really hope they do this treatment for blue eyes in the future.
bro pretty decent , i drop all the card that sam have all by 1 and added in the 4 type of hand trap. guess what P1 now. best part is due to the search effect of spell and trap i always have droplet and called by in my hand. and due to the cost of the deck is 1500 gem i have enough to craft them by the time i finish 5 story mode quest. pretty insane right

I really appreciate you making this deck. I have actually been winning matches and having fun. There have even been matches where I thought I was gonna lose, but I turned the game around and won. I rarely lose and only to op decks. Thank again!

That's why you play fused DM with Timaeus right? (Forgot the real name) because the effect of that card is basically Eternal Soul but for spells and traps
@@dualitygrief576 You don't always draw eye of Timaeus, but yeah I use it for DM dragon knight to protect the eternal soul. Eternal soul is good it you have the right counters down with it, for example dark magician the dragon knight or beat cop from the underworld.
I swear this video has inspired a lot of new players cuz when I went back to climbing the rank again THIS DECK IS ALL I FIND. At least in the lower ranks. Great video 😊

Gotta say the deck is solid. I do really miss the old days of dueling when turns didn't have over 20 plus moves made it way more fun and competitive. Your videos are awesome especially when you smell a pack being opened lol.
Pretty much the reason i dont play YGO very often, and generally only against friends. IO dont want to sit there watchign someone spend 156minutes jacking off across the board before i even get one turn, i want to have a back and forth game that requires strategy and thought rather than who can put out as many negates and flood gates out first. Konami ruined YGO.
@@cyanide7270 Agreed, It's annoying sitting there for several minutes waiting for them to take their turn only to draw your first card and have them take a whole other turn of combos before you can even play a single card. I can stil find fun matches, but over all it's just a slogg. IMO responses should be limited, maybe 3 card max per response?
@@alphadante5764 the only solution I can think of to counter the power creep is to duel by types of deck or by era in yugioh. Otherwise it may turn the game into a drag for other reasons. But the alternative to this summoning solitaire won't come from Konami.

I mostly waited till I pulled 2 dark magicians out of the pack to build but mostly to put a branded engine into it, 2 albaz, 2 aluber, 3 branded, also helps make dragon dark magician faster
Nice Video Sam I am an f2p player and I have: -This Dark Magician deck -A Stardust / Synchron Deck (without a quasar) -3 Ash -3 Maxx "C" -2 Called By The Grave -2 Skill Drain... I Am Also on Gold Rank 3 but I am advancing so fast
The deck starts to flounder in high gold tiers, it has so many consistency cards but because the deck doesn't have a ton of graveyard play like top tier decks once the searches have been negated your dead in the water. That's even with stuff like droplet max c and ghost to help it. I wanna try mixing it with another archetype but I'm not sure yet. I've seen people suggest Dinomorphs, the once that pay a ton of life points for effects but they are expensive.
Dinomorbin is way too expensive right now, you have to hard craft almost everything because they aren't in a secret/selection pack. I agree about DM though, the deck has 50 ways to dig for Eternal Soul, but Eternal Soul turbo isn't very good unless you back it up with a bunch of floodgates.
@@FakeHeroFang and the floodgates brick you hard sometimes. I've been in so many situations that if I head one more DM card is be good but my hand is max c, limit summon, ghost, skill drain and maybe a circle. The the opposite happens when your running DM full blast you don't draw the staples much because your top decking DM cards. It's frustrating as it's the first deck I built and my person's favorite. Had an invoked strategy a year ago but it doesn't work as well anymore.
In all of the duels sam shows this deck going first not to mention not going up against any tier one decks like sprite. I feel like showcasing a deck also involves showing off counter moves against your opponent’s board.
Yeah. Pretty sure he just cherry picks his matches and only show off the good ones for views and likes. None of his off meta decks are consistent past gold. Although this might function until like... mid gold and not a terrible thing for new players to build. His over all channel is still suspect in regards to the former.
to be fair, this account is probably playing against rookie/bronze players. If you're in Gold rank, the chances of you winning is much lower, and also this video is highlighting the best moments with this deck. Don't have high expectation with only using the structure deck, this deck is good to start getting from rookie to gold to get more gems to buy higher tier decks
One of the biggest hurdles for New players is to well actually learn AND u win with a deck to complete quests and get gems since Master Duel is unfortunately a meta fest locked behind many URs (Maxx,Ash,Infinite,grave,etc) You even need URs to make a reasonable archetype work. This structure deck was not only a good value but help spring board me into ranked.

Thanks for your videos they sre really fun to watch! a little thing I saw In the first duel you could've killed your opponent the first turn after banishing with circle by keeping soul servant in hand Then attack for 1600 with rod amd 2500 with dark magician making 4100 damage Then activate activatw secrets of dark magic special summon dark magicians attack for 2800 more making 6900 of damage then activate soul servant stacking eternal soul , activate the effect of dark magicians draw eternal soul set it and activate it to special summon Dm again to attack for 2500 more.
Definitely can play this game without spending anything. I started with the Cyberdark structure deck, played through ranked and got two more copies of that same structure deck to build the deck up then I grinded through ranked some more to get gems/cards so I could craft the deck I wanted to build - Gladiator Beasts. Then when the pure Gladiator Beasts deck wasn't being consistent enough I decided to grind some more to mix in Tri-Brigades. Total money spent: $0, Total time around 20 hours. I can't get past Gold Tier 2 though.

If atem EVER came back in the series we know he would be wildly overpowered, he would update his deck with the times, and have the ability to fucking choose his cards, or. If any of your cards were luck based, he could flip it so you would always have bad luck, He could Make SURE you don't draw the card you need, or maybe he would he too prideful to abuse his powers too much but still.
I kind of love / hate that this deck came out. On the one hand I love dark magician. On the other hand I hate that I just wasted like 2 months grinding gems to build a DM deck the hard way
At least even for those who just crafted the deck already, same with the zombie deck, they come with some pretty decent exclusive cards, like ioc or zombie dragon lord for zombies
If you want a crazy free deck build the Dinomist 3* deck from the solo mode it’s mostly Normals and Rares with I think 3 SR in it. There’s no extra deck but the deck itself goes absolutely crazy. It’s a pendulum deck and for being actually free like zero gems required, it’s insaneeeeee
Bro this deck is insane it can beat toon summoned skull pass 🤯 On a serious note tri-brigade is probably a better way to spend your starting gems if you want something good to play
im brand new to the game, picked up that deck and kept playing my friends with it, they're also new to the game. I basically never lost. I went to ranked and got absolutely smacked by a spright deck. any tips on how to counter spright?
@@mykellharris1 you’d need your Ash Blossoms, MaxC’s, a cross out maybe an Ogre along with some extra deck links etc. unfortunately I don’t see a structure only built deck beating sprights
@@mykellharris1 if you use kaijus, lava golem, winged dragon of ra - sphere mode etc they are great cards that you can use to tribute your opponents monsters that are normally tricky to deal with! Dark Ruler No More and all the Forbidden cards (Forbidden Droplet, Forbidden Lance etc) are also great to negate their effects. Pick a couple of those cards and throw them into your Dark Magician deck and you should be good!!
Haven't played Yu GI Oh in a decade, Hopped on Master Duel and didn't know wtf was going on, I built this deck because it had familiar cards to me and after 5W 0L in the casual room, I made it to Silver 4 in ranked before finally getting stumped. Thank you for the deck and quick strategies, gonna modify it for ranked keep it like this for casual, cuz it's a casual room masterpiece

Vortex was excellent in playing legacy. Have created a good amount of decks through packs I got through earning gems from playing the game. One deck created from only collecting gems/dusk was magical muskeet runick.

My pendulums always get stomped by dark magician. It's one of my most played against and I really love when they pop 3 DMs on my turn banishing my whole board
With just the 3 DM structure you have ~800 gems left, so it would probably be worth also grabbing either the Spellbook or CyDra structures, former for a small Spellbook draw package (Blue boy, Knowledge and the last one I forget) and cut like Chronicle Magician or something. CyDra structure has Fusion Deployment iirc so that's also a nice one to grab. Either way, it'll make the deck a bit stronger than just using the 3 structures
@@ulmostinsane Yeah so I checked the name of the Spellbook cards, you want: Spellbook Magician of Prophecy Spellbook of Knowledge Spellbook of Secrets And in the extra deck put in a Crowley, the First Propheseer. These guys let you turn a normal 1st turn end board of Souls + Rod into a potential draw 2, alternatively you can keep Crowley on board as a replacement for Artemis the Magistus Moon Maiden (in the opponents turn, activate any spell/trap to tribute the Artemis to add Rod back to the hand). One structure deck is enough as you only need one of each of these cards. Remember that you can chain Soul Servant to Circle (Circle first, then SS) to add any DM spell/trap or DM to hand for free. When you get some SR gems later down the line, you can replace a copy of Illusion of Chaos for Preparation of Rites. It just searches Illusion of Chaos which is nice because IoC can be a brick - 2 or more in the hand is useless. Also, Artemis is another SR that's worth picking up at some point for the same reason as Crowley above. Make sure you put aside UR gems for staples. Cards like Maxx "C", Ash Blossom, Called by the Grave, Ghost Belle and Dark Ruler no More are high priority because they'll be useful in ANY deck, not just DM, and eventually you'll want to branch out for extra fun so they're the best return on investment cards. Staples are MUCH more important than engine cards when starting off for this reason specifically, so don't neglect them.
Cydra does indeed have Fusion Deployment, reason I bought it too. Additionally, you can get the link starter deck because it gives you Link Spider for DM and Circle banish

I'm free to play and I have pretty good decks , it's all about good planning, luck in packs and you have to be smart when crafting I would have never gotten a dark magician deck without the structure decks That's why for now I'm never building a Blue eyes deck 😂 so many URs
Yep, i made multiple decks like runick spright and drytron without spending money in the game. The only reason you spend cash in the game is to support it or to get those royal rares, otherwise game is practically free.
To be fair, blue eyes was rather easy to make when MasterDuel came out. You get 2 copies of Blue Eyes from the starter deck and the selection pack at the time was Revival of legends which got you a good amount of stuff to play classic Blue Eyes (alternative, melody, white stone of legends/ancients, maiden/protector/priestess, spirit of white) and you could even dabble with chaos form and the Chaos(MAX) dragons. For everything else you needed the secret pack, but getting that many cards without having to craft an SR/UR every time made it pretty budget compared to other anime decks (DM, Red Eyes, Heroes, etc.).
nice, i also use this kind of deck. just 3 vortex of magic and 2 bundle pack of ash & imperm got my fresh new account rank up easily but it's really hard to get 5 win streak especially in higher rank such as gold
So far the deck he's built I've been using and it's gotten me to Gold V so far. I stopped playing Rank and been focusing on Solo so I don't burn out. Aside from the Numeron OTK deck I've had alot of fun good duels.
A hint vs Numeron is that their field spell is what allows the xyz monsters to use their effects without using materials. So if it's the battle phase and you banish their field spell, their puny 1000 atk monsters can't activate their effects
the deck he plays i not so competetive as it could, i added 3 ashs and 3 maxx C, and 1 more Handtrap, removed some cards and added some like soleimn or skill drain. Very strong deck now im playing the current event and im duel level 14 rn
I did the same thing bro but instead of buying the same deck three times just made adjustments with some card packs btw downloaded the game and actually maxed the gems to 10,000 somehow, it is an amazingly free to play game honestly
Another prime instructor/operator, I played duel master mobile a couple years ago was big on the red eyes slasher and alternate dragons combo , seeing someone explain is always clutch

I rebuilt Chaos Max/Iblee deck from your video, it was insanely fun but I can never get past gold 3 I feel like free decks just stop being viable after this point :(
Well anyone who doesn't get that deck for a measly 1500 gems is crazy. And those who already had the deck, like me, have returned some CP UR and SR which never hurt.
I wish there was some more time dedicated to strategy / best order of play. I recently got this game and pack as I loved Dark Magician when I was a kid. It seems good, but there are so many effects and spells it's hard to work out best strategy.
the card he plays with and the list he showed at the beginning aren't the exact same as example in the second duel he used bond between teacher and student and dark burning magic in the thirth duel he also used dark burning attack and bond between teacher and student like its not a to big of a problem since all those cards are still free avaiable in the strucur deck but just would be kinda nice if he would have mentioned it that he made a change and that he would have shown the final decklist he used
As far i saw it was only this two changes and i think he either just put them in aswell to make 42 cards deck thats at least what i did while copying it or he changed something out but i couldn't exactly say what
I bought 40 packs for Red Eyes using my free gems. It's not going so hot. I want Dragoon but I know Dark Magician and other decks will use it much better.
Only thing off her is that I see no one with Ash blossom. Everytime I go first I will see ash blossom when using Magicicans Rod or Illusion of chaos then it stop my combos emmediatly. Otherwise very easy deck to learn to play with.

The worse thing about the deck is when your eternal soul gets banished it wipes your monsters. It can be super devasting.

Don't have high expectation with only using the structure deck, this deck is good to start getting from rookie to gold to get more gems to buy higher tier decks

Yeah unfortunately this deck only competes in higher ranks if you run the deck with floodgates which kinda takes the fun out of the deck

One of the biggest hurdles for New players is to well actually learn AND u win with a deck to complete quests and get gems since Master Duel is unfortunately a meta fest locked behind many URs (Maxx,Ash,Infinite,grave,etc)
You even need URs to make a reasonable archetype work. This structure deck was not only a good value but help spring board me into ranked.
It depends on how well you know the matchups for and against your deck be it pure, combo, or budget.

a little thing I saw In the first duel you could've killed your opponent the first turn after banishing with circle by keeping soul servant in hand
Then attack for 1600 with rod amd 2500 with dark magician making 4100 damage
Then activate activatw secrets of dark magic special summon dark magicians attack for 2800 more making 6900 of damage then activate soul servant stacking eternal soul , activate the effect of dark magicians draw eternal soul set it and activate it to special summon Dm again to attack for 2500 more.
Definitely can play this game without spending anything. I started with the Cyberdark structure deck, played through ranked and got two more copies of that same structure deck to build the deck up then I grinded through ranked some more to get gems/cards so I could craft the deck I wanted to build - Gladiator Beasts.
Then when the pure Gladiator Beasts deck wasn't being consistent enough I decided to grind some more to mix in Tri-Brigades. Total money spent: $0, Total time around 20 hours. I can't get past Gold Tier 2 though.
Rip I use a cubic deck which mainly loses to only meta.

If atem EVER came back in the series we know he would be wildly overpowered, he would update his deck with the times, and have the ability to fucking choose his cards, or. If any of your cards were luck based, he could flip it so you would always have bad luck, He could Make SURE you don't draw the card you need, or maybe he would he too prideful to abuse his powers too much but still.

I kind of love / hate that this deck came out. On the one hand I love dark magician. On the other hand I hate that I just wasted like 2 months grinding gems to build a DM deck the hard way
At least even for those who just crafted the deck already, same with the zombie deck, they come with some pretty decent exclusive cards, like ioc or zombie dragon lord for zombies
If you want a crazy free deck build the Dinomist 3* deck from the solo mode it’s mostly Normals and Rares with I think 3 SR in it. There’s no extra deck but the deck itself goes absolutely crazy. It’s a pendulum deck and for being actually free like zero gems required, it’s insaneeeeee

On a serious note tri-brigade is probably a better way to spend your starting gems if you want something good to play
I played the shiranui structure deck and I surprisingly beat other people with it, galaxy eyes and heroes
Legit one of the best structures they added to the game. Deck is great out of the box and you can spice it up as you progress.
im brand new to the game, picked up that deck and kept playing my friends with it, they're also new to the game. I basically never lost. I went to ranked and got absolutely smacked by a spright deck. any tips on how to counter spright?
@@mykellharris1 you’d need your Ash Blossoms, MaxC’s, a cross out maybe an Ogre along with some extra deck links etc. unfortunately I don’t see a structure only built deck beating sprights

@@mykellharris1 if you use kaijus, lava golem, winged dragon of ra - sphere mode etc they are great cards that you can use to tribute your opponents monsters that are normally tricky to deal with! Dark Ruler No More and all the Forbidden cards (Forbidden Droplet, Forbidden Lance etc) are also great to negate their effects. Pick a couple of those cards and throw them into your Dark Magician deck and you should be good!!

As a new player I got from rookie to gold 4 but the only problem with this deck that it bricks alot where you start with almost no play
Haven't played Yu GI Oh in a decade, Hopped on Master Duel and didn't know wtf was going on, I built this deck because it had familiar cards to me and after 5W 0L in the casual room, I made it to Silver 4 in ranked before finally getting stumped. Thank you for the deck and quick strategies, gonna modify it for ranked keep it like this for casual, cuz it's a casual room masterpiece
You should do a road to glory. You start with 30 packs. And after every game you get 1 pack, and if you win you get an extra pack. And other rewarss

Dark magician the dragon knight with eternal soul is so underrated, I'm to the point that I main dark magician.

Vortex was excellent in playing legacy. Have created a good amount of decks through packs I got through earning gems from playing the game. One deck created from only collecting gems/dusk was magical muskeet runick.

My pendulums always get stomped by dark magician. It's one of my most played against and I really love when they pop 3 DMs on my turn banishing my whole board
With just the 3 DM structure you have ~800 gems left, so it would probably be worth also grabbing either the Spellbook or CyDra structures, former for a small Spellbook draw package (Blue boy, Knowledge and the last one I forget) and cut like Chronicle Magician or something. CyDra structure has Fusion Deployment iirc so that's also a nice one to grab.
Either way, it'll make the deck a bit stronger than just using the 3 structures

@@ulmostinsane Yeah so I checked the name of the Spellbook cards, you want:
Spellbook Magician of Prophecy
Spellbook of Knowledge
Spellbook of Secrets
And in the extra deck put in a Crowley, the First Propheseer.
These guys let you turn a normal 1st turn end board of Souls + Rod into a potential draw 2, alternatively you can keep Crowley on board as a replacement for Artemis the Magistus Moon Maiden (in the opponents turn, activate any spell/trap to tribute the Artemis to add Rod back to the hand). One structure deck is enough as you only need one of each of these cards.
Remember that you can chain Soul Servant to Circle (Circle first, then SS) to add any DM spell/trap or DM to hand for free.
When you get some SR gems later down the line, you can replace a copy of Illusion of Chaos for Preparation of Rites. It just searches Illusion of Chaos which is nice because IoC can be a brick - 2 or more in the hand is useless. Also, Artemis is another SR that's worth picking up at some point for the same reason as Crowley above.
Make sure you put aside UR gems for staples. Cards like Maxx "C", Ash Blossom, Called by the Grave, Ghost Belle and Dark Ruler no More are high priority because they'll be useful in ANY deck, not just DM, and eventually you'll want to branch out for extra fun so they're the best return on investment cards. Staples are MUCH more important than engine cards when starting off for this reason specifically, so don't neglect them.
Cydra does indeed have Fusion Deployment, reason I bought it too.
Additionally, you can get the link starter deck because it gives you Link Spider for DM and Circle banish

I'm free to play and I have pretty good decks , it's all about good planning, luck in packs and you have to be smart when crafting

Yep, i made multiple decks like runick spright and drytron without spending money in the game. The only reason you spend cash in the game is to support it or to get those royal rares, otherwise game is practically free.
To be fair, blue eyes was rather easy to make when MasterDuel came out. You get 2 copies of Blue Eyes from the starter deck and the selection pack at the time was Revival of legends which got you a good amount of stuff to play classic Blue Eyes (alternative, melody, white stone of legends/ancients, maiden/protector/priestess, spirit of white) and you could even dabble with chaos form and the Chaos(MAX) dragons.
For everything else you needed the secret pack, but getting that many cards without having to craft an SR/UR every time made it pretty budget compared to other anime decks (DM, Red Eyes, Heroes, etc.).
nice, i also use this kind of deck. just 3 vortex of magic and 2 bundle pack of ash & imperm got my fresh new account rank up easily but it's really hard to get 5 win streak especially in higher rank such as gold
So far the deck he's built I've been using and it's gotten me to Gold V so far. I stopped playing Rank and been focusing on Solo so I don't burn out. Aside from the Numeron OTK deck I've had alot of fun good duels.

A hint vs Numeron is that their field spell is what allows the xyz monsters to use their effects without using materials. So if it's the battle phase and you banish their field spell, their puny 1000 atk monsters can't activate their effects
the deck he plays i not so competetive as it could, i added 3 ashs and 3 maxx C, and 1 more Handtrap, removed some cards and added some like soleimn or skill drain. Very strong deck now im playing the current event and im duel level 14 rn
They need to make a Blue Eyes anniversary as well just like how they did Dark Magician
I did the same thing bro but instead of buying the same deck three times just made adjustments with some card packs btw downloaded the game and actually maxed the gems to 10,000 somehow, it is an amazingly free to play game honestly

I wish there was some more time dedicated to strategy / best order of play. I recently got this game and pack as I loved Dark Magician when I was a kid. It seems good, but there are so many effects and spells it's hard to work out best strategy.
the card he plays with and the list he showed at the beginning aren't the exact same as example in the second duel he used bond between teacher and student and dark burning magic in the thirth duel he also used dark burning attack and bond between teacher and student like its not a to big of a problem since all those cards are still free avaiable in the strucur deck but just would be kinda nice if he would have mentioned it that he made a change and that he would have shown the final decklist he used

As far i saw it was only this two changes and i think he either just put them in aswell to make 42 cards deck thats at least what i did while copying it or he changed something out but i couldn't exactly say what

Only thing off her is that I see no one with Ash blossom. Everytime I go first I will see ash blossom when using Magicicans Rod or Illusion of chaos then it stop my combos emmediatly. Otherwise very easy deck to learn to play with.
I like playing the four dimensional dragons it do be a challenge
