  • Posted by the International Al Jolson Society, www.jolson.org, this is an excerpt of the 17 Mar 1949 Kraft Music Hall, starring Al Jolson with Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. Roy Rogers and Dale Evans join Al Jolson and Oscar Levant in a fancifal look at a western movie. Rogers and Evans sing "San Anton." And the video podcast concludes with an extra song from the audio version, Jolson singing "I'm Always Chasing Rainbows." What a delightful excerpt - excellent comedy with Al Jolson, Dale Evans, and Roy Rogers. Al singing one of my favorite songs. Radio does not get better than this! Thank you Marc for making this available to me and others.

Love the comment from Roy about Al Jolson and Larry Parks. Listened to Al Jolson every Sunday on a 15 minute segment on the radio as dad would drive us to Grandma's house for a visit. I really enjoyed the movie The Al Jolson Story with Al Jolson--lots of singing. If someone ever had a Hudson (49 Hornet) would appreciate that joke.
