1080p needs to be here in 2020 especially from the big market manufacturers alpine Sony and Kenwood and pioneer , they don't really realize people do watch mirror cast on these Headunits and that's a huge reason why people by the 9" screens , or forced to go android Chinese headunit for the 1080 quality. They could easily do 1080p seeing as these things cost up too a grand 1000$
The new iLX-409 (still hasn't shipped) has the same 480p resolution.
You're better off with the ILX650 I didn't get the model number right but you get the idea

I have so many questions that weren’t answered in this video. Is the screen removable? Is there any antitheft measures? Can the screen swivel or just go up and down?
If anyone decides to install this in a forester... its doable, but is a pain in the ass.. turns out the screen wont go deep enough and theres a huge gap in between the screen and the dash.. with a lot of modifications to the dash kit it can be brought deep enough so that gap would dissapear.. but it took a conglomerate of dash kits to get it right. But as soons as it cranks on.. oh boy, what a beauty!

How do you install this unit in a car that does not use an ISO mount? All of the instructions I have seen require ISO, but older cars only have the traditional "cage" option; will that work / hold the weight?

It says it plays video. So I've got a ton of videos on my external hard drive and when I plug it into my USB it does nothing. Everything I've read about it says it plays videos and mp4, etc......but I have no idea how to do it? Anybody know how to play videos?

I'm assuming your hard drive is formatted as NTFS? The manual states that it supports FAT 16/32, so that may be why it's not recognizing your drive.
Is the installation theft proof in some way??

Nikesh Bhattarai nothing is truly theft proof. It’s mounted like all radios. If someone wanted to rip it out of the dash bad enough they will.
You're previous radio is a double din pioneer radio, the head unit is a one din radio, how did you solve this? which adapter did you use?
Walter Verbeeck the company who installed it used a double den to single den adapter.
Double din is way better just get the new ones that fit the double din this unit uses way too much dash space

Radell Hall if the dash is link the 2007 Ford F-150 then yes. I believe it will work.
I don’t know. Double din is a modified install and states that once the kit is installed in dash, the whole dash has to be removed to take it out.
Radell Hall this is a single den radio that they use a kit to work in double den vehicles so it should work unless your radio is controlling all of your air heat lights stuff like that.
For anyone reading this now, Ford used 1.5 din radios for a couple decades. Nobody makes those anymore, and putting in a 2din generally requires some minor modification.
The typical Metra kit people use for them in a Ford is a "permanent" mount as you won't use those wire hooks to break the radio loose with the new stuff. A lot of older Ford's have a center dash plate that just clips in so removing the stereo to upgrade it in the future isn't really that difficult. Don't trim your fingernails.
With something like this, you'll have to make sure it'll clear the top of your dash, air vents, and maybe your defrost vents _inside_ the dashboard. That last bit is especially important for late model Panthers if installing a 2din

Depends on how you have it tilted. At first, it was horrible so I adjusted it and I don't have any problems now. Adjusting it is pretty simple as well.
Can install aftermarket apps?
The only apps I know that can be installed are CarPlay available apps and GooglePlay apps that are made for cars. This does not mean that it can't be done I just haven't looked into it.
