2004 not being on this list is a shame. Let me go through the names. Eli Manning, Philip Rivers, Ben Rothlisberger, Larry Fitzgerald, Sean Taylor, Bob Sanders, Deangelo Hall, Vince Wilfork, Jared Allen, Steven Jackson, Michael Turner, Willie Parker, Wes Welker, Jason Peters and some lesser names like Matt Schaub, Chris Cooley, Shaun Phillips, Jonathan Vilma, Chris Snee, Nick Hardwick... I mean come on there are definitely 7-9 hall of famers there.
@@Juice-ig3jz Eli, Philip, Ben, Larry, Vince, Jared, Steven should all make it to the hall imo, an argument could be made for Wes, Jason and Sean. Either way it was a killer draft class.
2017 is gonna have to be added on the list soon. Myles Garret, Christian McCaffrey, Alvin Kamara, Cooper Kupp, Patrick Mahomes, Deshaun Watson, Marshawn Lattimore, Leonard Fournette, TJ Watt, Ryan Ramcyzk, Joe Mixon, Austin Ekeler, Dalvin Cook, Eddie Jackson, Jamal Adams, George Kittle, Marlon Humphrey, Tre’Davious White, Buddha Baker, Johnathon Allen, Juju Smith-Schuster, Chris Carson, Aaron Jones, Chris Godwin, Kareem Hunt, Kenny Golladay, James Conner, Harrison Butker, Younghoe Koo, and Taysom Hill. I mean, MY GOSH LOOK HOW LONG THIS LIST IS!!!
At this point in time when people read this comment they will say, I can't believe you put Kenny Golladay on this list lol. He is going to be on a list of the top 10 worst Free Agent Signings of all time very soon. Just ask any Giants fan
2016 was way deeper and stacked with talent. Look at just the first 9 picks: Jared Goff, Carson Wentz, Joey Bosa, Zeke, Jalen Ramsey, Ronnie Stanley, DeForest Buckner, Jake Conklin, Leonard Floyd. All from solid starters to very good and the list goes on. Laremy Tunsil, Keanu Neal, Jaylon Smith, Hunter Henry, Myles Jack, Chris Jones, Xavien Howard, Derrick Henry, Michael Thomas, Deion Jones (maybe greatest 2nd round ever), Kevin Byard, Yannick Ngakoue, Justin Simmons, Blake Martinez, Dak Prescott, Matt Judon, Jordan Howard, Tyreek Hill. If this class continues their play at this level, it will be one of the greatest ever.
Agreed, they want to talk about quarterbacks but between the 2 2004 has more Super Bowl wins..I agree whole heartedly that the 83 draft should be at the top but to not even mention 2004 is ridiculous. They also has Vince wilfork, Sean Taylor, Steven Jackson, Jared Allen just to name a few.
Don’t forget: Vince Wilfork, Deangelo Hall, Wes Welker, Jason Peters, Chris Cooley (Solid player), Bob Sanders (Won DPOY in 07), Matt Schaub (Led the league in passing yards in 2009), Jonathan Wilma (Won DROY and a Super Bowl ring with the Saints), Darnell Dockett, and Karlos Dansby.
Na Sherman was only good for like 4 years and that's honestly debatable cause he was surrounded by 2 great safeties, 2 great Lbs and and a good defensive line
2001 should have been included. Steve Smith, Michael Vick, Santana Moss, Chad Johnson, Richard Seymour, Ladanian Tomlinson, Drew Brees and plenty more. One of the deepest drafts in my opinion.
I think they were focused more on the first 3 rounds or so. I think Sherm was a 5th rounder? I think the rationale is they're basing it more on the draft capital invested when compared to the resulting player versus player value as a whole
The Raiders took JaMarcus Russell and passed on Calvin Johnson, Joe Thomas, Adrian Peterson, Patrick Willis, MarShawn Lynch, Darrelle Revis, Joe Staley, Lawrence Timmons, Greg Olsen. In Round 2 the Raiders passed on Paul Posluszny, Eric Weddle, Ryan Kalil, and LaMarr Woodley. In round 3 they passed on Marshal Yanda.
Sean Wolenski It’s impossible to predict that though you can’t really hold it over them. Brady was passed on 5 times by everyone and 6 by a handful more. He was the consensus number one it just turned out horribly
@@emmettkahnert7480 Wrong. Your talking about Rodgers who everyone thought would go 1! But Brady was drafted in the 6th round. No one thought anything of him which makes his story special. He became the goat with Bill. Cuz goat QBs need goat coaches.
Spider Man That’s not my point. I was arguing you can’t predict greatness in the league except for generational guys. Russel was a really hyped prospect but completely flopped whereas I compared him to Brady who was a nobody with little to no athleticism or true talent (he proves that leadership and competitiveness are what makes a great player). You can’t blame a team for taking the consensus number one that turned out to be a bust over guys that weren’t supposed to be generational talents it’s just not fair.
@@emmettkahnert7480 1. Life ain't fair 2. I never said your point was wrong my man I was sayin what you said that he was the consensus n.1 which he was not. You straight lied. Cuz who you were talking about Aaron.
Spider Man You just created a different argument. My comment was about the pick of Jamarcus Russell. You can’t blame them for taking him he was a great player and they needed a qb. What the original guys comment was doing was listing every player that turned out well in the draft but none were a sensible pick for them to make at one. They made the right choice and it flopped
2010 needs some love: Antonio Brown, Gronk, Suh, Geno Atkins, Gerald McCoy, Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, Jimmy Graham, Demaryius Thomas, Dez, Joe Haden, Eric Berry
Very true... People sleep on Geno Atkins & Gerald McCoy because of their small market status teams... They are both future Hall of Famers in my opinion
0:00 The 1996 NFL Draft. 3:35 The 1971 NFL Draft. 7:09 The 1967 NFL Draft. 10:06 The 2007 NFL Draft. 13:15 The 1981 NFL Draft. 16:11 The 1964 NFL Draft. 19:49 The 2011 NFL Draft. 23:00 The 1989 NFL Draft. 25:58 The 1961 NFL Draft. 30:10 The 1983 NFL Draft.
Don't forget that Justin Houston was also apart of the 2011 draft class. He scored over 20 sacks in the 2014 season. He was a great player with Kansas City and he did great with Indianapolis last season.
I'd have found a spot on this list for 2012. That draft produced an insane 36 pro-bowlers, and if you include UDFA + supplemental draft, it's 42 pro-bowlers. There's only 3-4 "no-doubt" HoFers, but in terms of teams walking away from the draft feeling pretty good about what they got, it's way up there.
I think going forward it'll be on a updated list. Chandler jones a couple good-decent seasons from jumping into the top 20 sack leaders all time. Fletcher Cox, undeniable lynch pin for the Eagles during 2 title runs. Decastro in Pittsburgh helped keep Big Ben upright during some of his best offensive seasons. Harrison Smith really good for Minnesota at S. Gilmore is a DPOY recipient, marking 2 in the class. Luke Keuchly and Bobby Wagner were/are the preeminent MLBs of their generation. Russell Wilson it really depends going forward due to this last season. I think everyone expected his trajectory to continue along the same path or go upward to solidify his chances. 6/11 QB's got to one Pro Bowl, meaning at some point they had established a level of play notable to the public. Maybe only one of them is a HOF, but that pro bowl fact is really neat considering there are some ugly QB years in draft history. Johnny Hekker AND Justin Tucker are special teamer reps in this class. 39 pro bowlers from the class I count now unless I miscounted. There's not a lot of HOF like you said, but theres a ton of good players here who made a difference for their squad at one point or another.
1983 actually had 7 HOFers in round 1, 8 overall. He must have missed Jimbo Covert. So it really was a 1 in 4 chance of drafting a hall of Famer. Lots of other good players who were key parts of Suoer Bowl rosters into the 1990s: Jesse Sapolu, Charles Mann, Dave Duerson, Darryl Talley, Leonard Marshall, Roger Craig.
What about 1957? Paul Hornung, Len Dawson, Jim Brown, Jim Parker, Sonny Jurgensen, Tommy MacDonald, Henry Jordan, Don Maynard, Gene Hickerson. Literally everyone I just mentioned is in the HOF.
Give 2017 some times it will be on the list soon! I mean... - Patrick Mahomes - DeShaun Watson - TJ Watt - Myles Garrett - Alvin Kamara - Christian McCaffrey - Dalvin Cook - Marshon Lattimore - Jamal Adams - Marlon Humphrey - Tredavious White - George Kittle - Chris Godwin - Kenny Golladay
This has aged very well considering Watt is better than his brother and will go down as a top 5 defensive player ever and Mahomes is just getting started and IMO is already top 5 all time QB with time to go. I mean they should be there instead of 2011 which hasn't aged well with only 3 for sure HOF's.
Soon to add 2017 to the list. That draft was super stacked on both sides of the ball. Myles garret, CMC, mike Williams, Patrick mahomes, TJ Wyatt, jabrill peppers, jonathan Allen, leanord fournette Tre’davious white, Ryan Ramcyk. All of those are just first rounders and Pro bowlers. There’s plenty of more in the 2nd and 3rd round. Definitely top 5 maybe top 3 draft
He counts. Any player who is ELIGIBLE for draft in a certain year - the year they graduate from college or declare themselves eligible for the draft - by definition make them part of said draft class. Otherwise dozens of UFAs every year who make a team - some who go on to HOF careers - like Kurt Warner - would have no year they fall under. That would be stupid & illogical.
For me I think 1983 was probably the best draft of all time!! Considering how many Hall of Fame players were that year!! Plus best quarterback year in the NFL franchise!!
The three quarterbacks for me resemble something Marino- the stat guy broke the passing records Jim kelly- the revolutionary quarterback, he changed the nfl John Elway- the winner, had the most qb wins before Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, and won 2 Super Bowls
The Raiders took JaMarcus Russell and passed on Calvin Johnson, Joe Thomas, Adrian Peterson, Patrick Willis, MarShawn Lynch, Darrelle Revis, Joe Staley, Lawrence Timmons, Greg Olsen. In Round 2 the Raiders passed on Paul Posluszny, Eric Weddle, Ryan Kalil, and LaMarr Woodley. In round 3 they passed on Marshal Yanda.
2014 ain't nothing to sneeze at either. Aaron Donald, Odell, Kahlil Mack, Zach Martin , Mike Evans, Clowney, Dee Ford, Devonte Adams, Allen Robinson etc.
The 2003 Draft Class was pretty good Andre Johnson, Terrance Newman, Kevin Williams, Jordan Gross, Terrell Suugs, Troy Polamalu, Willis McGahee, Nnamdi Asomugha, Dallas Clark, Charles Tillman, Lance Briggs, Jason Witten, Robert Mathis.
The best draft by 1 team is the 1974 Steelers. Lynn Swann, John Stallworth, Mike Webster, and an added bonus, undrafted free agent Donnie Shell. All 5 are Hall of Famers!
2011 is my favorite draft class because so many of my favorite players in the league today came in that draft: Jimmy Smith Richard Sherman Patrick Peterson JJ Watt Cam Newton Julio Jones Von Miller AJ Green
It had great players but only probably 3 for sure HOF's with Miller, Watt, and Julio. Cam not going, Peterson isn't going, Green had injury problems so he isn't going. Sherman most likely isn't going either. And Julio is even arguable at this point considering Torry Holt and Steve Smith aren't in yet.
@Fries I firmly agree that there should be a list of worst NFL draft years. 2009 would be even worse than 1992, and those two are quite clearly the worst drafts of the common draft era. If we combine the regular and supplemental drafts for 1984, all but one other draft class since 1967 has combined for at least eleven First Team All-Pro appearances, yet 2009 has had just six and 1992 just eight. Although the 2009 draft class is not yet fully retired, it produced only two potential Hall of Famers in Matthew Stafford and Alex Mack, neither of whom is anywhere near a lock-in. 1992 has had no Hall of Famer, and even its best players - Jimmy Smith and Darren Woodson - are invariably viewed as longshots for the Hall. In fairness, free agency may have seriously affected the development of the 1992 class, as several of its best players, including Smith who is ranked as its best by Pro Football Reference, did not develop until after the 1995 expansion. Apart from the definite first two of 2009 and 1992: 1976 also had only six First Team All-Pro nominating by five players, but had five Hall of Famers and of its twenty Pro Bowl players, five made at least six Pro Bowls, so it probably is doubtful here. 1966 also saw just five All-Pro players, though it did contain two undrafted stars in Emmitt Thomas and Jim Hart (Pro Football Reference rates Hart the best player from 1966, although he never made First Team All-Pro). It would certainly be in a list of worst draft years ever, even (or especially depending on perspective) with two of the three best players available (Thomas, Hart, offensive guard Tom Mack) passed by two separate drafts. 1972 (22:53) contained only two Hall of Famers - one of whom, Cliff Branch, is being inducted this year - and just 13 All-Pro First Team nominations 1977 had only one Hall of Famer in Tony Dorsett and nobody else with any prospect of reaching the Hall, although it had 19 first Team All-Pro nominations 1986 had only one Hall of Famer in fourth-rounder Charles Haley, only one other player in Leslie OʼNeal who seems likely to make Canton in the future, and only fourteen First-Team All-Pro selections 1999 had only twelve first-team All-Pro selections, although it has two Hall of Famers and Donovan McNabb (who never made a first team All-Pro) may be on the road to Canton. 2002 is often thought of as a terrible draft because of several bad busts, but despite only eight First Team All-Pro players (for seventeen nominations) and only 20 Pro Bowl players (the fewest of any draft since before 1984) it has one Hall of Famer in Ed Reed, and another certain Hall of Famer in Julius Peppers.
I know they showed Ryan Kerrigan during the 2011 draft segment, but he didn't get an actual mention. He's a very underrated draft day hit. He's been the epitome of consistency since he's been in the league, never missed a game, and he's never put up less than 7.5 sacks in a season. And he had to adjust to a new position. He went from playing mainly as a DE in college, to being a full-time LB in the NFL.
A couple of points about 1983. The draft made the 1985 Bears team. Also, Todd Blackledge, Ken O'Brien and Tony "Champaign" Eason were all taken before Marino, with Blackledge at 7. The draft was absolutely loaded with quarterbacks.
And honestly O'Brien and Eason were NOT bad quarterbacks. O'Brien was named to the Pro Bowl multiple times and Eason got the Patriots to the Super Bowl. Only Blackledge of that group really had what I would call a subpar career.
Okay I just have to say this: Eli Manning deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. Here's why: He has 4 pro bowls, which isn't a ton considering other qbs, yet above average. He has 2 super bowl rings, and 2 super bowl mvps. He in fact was instrumental in the Giants wins over the Patriots in both bowls. He had not had a losing season before 2013, although he did go 8-8 one year. Age caught up with him eventually but he did help win. He had played in 210 consecutive games before being benched and durability is an important trait for qbs. Can't be great if you're never healthy enough to be. He is in the top 10 in both career yards and touchdowns, and while he is interception prone so was Favre and yet that won't be held against him. Eli has had defenses bail him out, although the same can be said for Rivers, Bradshaw, and McNair. The Giants have been around 90 years and Manning is the best Offensive player to ever play, With Barber or Simms in a distant second. And when regarding his postseason success, he did win a super bowl without his best reciever. Also lets not forget many would say Eli is more clutch than Peyton due to his ability to play up to a situation. He should not be faulted just because he wasn't the best qb in his draft, because if you look at his stats and not how we've judged him as a player that is "shockingly" losing to Father Time, you see a player that is disrespected due to our idea of how he should be playing.
It is absolutely criminal not to have the 2004 draft on this list. The hall of famers alone should have it on the list 1. Eli Manning 2. Big Ben 3. Philip Rivers 4. Larry Fitzgerald 5. Jonathan Vilma 6. Vince Wilfork 7. Jared Allen 8. Wes Welker ( Undrafted) 9. Jason Peters ( undrafted) Honorable Mention to the late Sean Taylor . How this class is missed is beyond me
2012 might make it up there. Luck is a borderline candidate, but Wilson may have already done enough to get in. Luke Kuechly looks good to make it. Other potential HOF guys would be Matt Kahil, Fletcher Cox, Stephon Gilmore, David Decastro, Dont'a Hightower, Harrison Smith, Bobbie Wagner, TY Hilton, Josh Norman, Danny Trevathan. Heck, even honorable mentions could go to Nick Foles, Olivier Vernon, Kirk Cousins, Lavonte David, Alshon Jeffery, Janoris Jenkins, and Kevin Zeitler. I think we could find 6 to 8 HOF players in that list.
Funfact: The other draft with two HoFers in the first round by the same team was the year before. The Jets fans wanted Warren Sapp with the No.9 selection, but instead they drafted Kyle Brady. After Brady was gone Browns HC Bill Belichick, who wanted to take (another) Brady, traded down with the (I believe) 49ers to 30 for a 1st rounder in 1996. He wanted to take a LB there and couldn't decide between two prospects: Craig Powell (which they took) and Derrick Brooks, who was selected two picks before Powell by Tampa Bay with their second 1st rounder after Warren Sapp. So Cleveland missed out on two HoFers 1995, lost its football team to Baltimore and the Ravens drafted two HoFers with the picks Cleveland provided the year before.
2014 Aaron Donald, khalil Mack, jadeveon clowney, Mike Evans, Anthony Barr, Odell Beckham jr, Taylor lewan, Ryan shazier, Zach Martin, cj Mosley, brandin cooks, dee Ford, Demarcus Lawrence, Joel bitonio, Lamarcus Joyner, Jarvis Landry, jimmy garoppolo, devonta freeman, James white, Matt paradis, Andre Hal, Brandon Linder, Allen Robinson, Derrick Carr, Eric Ebron, Aaron Lynch, Ricardo Allen.
Man, they just completely brushed over Howie Long and basically gave him an honorable mention. That man was built like a Greek god and was one of the best defensive ends to ever play the game.
2011 needs to move up. It's likely going to break the record for Hall of Famers. I'm guessing there are 10-14 Hofers in this class, 8-10 of those are no doubt. They are.... Cam Newton (Maybe) Von Miller AJ Green (Maybe) Patrick Peterson Julio Jones Tyrone Smith JJ Watt (would have made after 7 years) Cam Jordan Cameron Heyward Justin Houston (Maybe) KJ Wright Richard Sherman Jason Kelce And Chris Harris Jr. Went undrafted.
Guess I shouldn't complain. My team had the number one draft by a single team in history in 74 with the Steelers. Four Hall of Famers.... Swann, Stallworth, Lambert, Webster. Make it FIVE as Donnie Shell just got in as he was a college free agent in that Steelers draft.
2:43, it wasn't really rare for a QB to not go #1 at the time, though. Between 70-97, a QB was taken #1 overall only 8 times. Since Peyton Manning was taken 1st in 98, a QB has gone #1 the majority of the time. But before that,. only 8 times in 28 drafts.
@@masonthewarriorful 1996 is generally regarded as one of the worst QB draft classes of all time. Only four of eight drafted quarterbacks ever threw a pass in the NFL, and none made so much as a Pro Bowl. The best quarterback from 1996 - Jon Kitna - was not even drafted and may be remembered unfortunately as the main starting quarterback for the 0-16 2008 Detroit Lions. 2007 - also listed here - was by Pro Football Reference alongside 2013 and 1966 (though the latter is redeemed by undrafted Jim Hart) the worst quarterback draft year since 1961.
4:35 Plunkett was finally on a good team. Good teams have good organizations, position coaches, o-linemen, ect. The Pats and 49ers were bad in the 70’s.
1981- we know about the defensive players and Washington selecting 2 Hogs (Russ Grimm and Mark May), but they surprisingly forgot ANOTHER defensive draft pick- Dexter Manley, the greatest pass rusher in Washington history. Drafting 2 Hogs AND Manley? Not to mention 1981 had 3 UNDRAFTED defensive players: Sam Mills, Deron Cherry, Everson Walls.
There won’t be 2 HOFamers drafted in the first round by the same team ever again?????? Patrick Willis and Joe Staley were drafted together in 2007 and they are both future HOFamers soooooo
Deacon coulda tore it up by himself, but having 3 teammates lining up next to you that you're close friends with who are also just as lethal, helps out a bit
WHAT?! 1974 IS NOT ON THE LIST? The Steelers drafted four Hall of Famers in their first five picks in that draft that became part of their core to their 1970s dynasty: Lynn Swann, Jack Lambert, John Stallworth and Mike Webster. It's an accomplishment that has never been duplicated since.
20:43 He can become the greatest of all time. He is one of the best receivers of all time and the best in the league right now. Argue with me if you want.
The 1983 draft was so good that they didn't even have enough time to name all the noteworthy players: Mark Clayton, Dave Duerson, Jimbo Covert, Daryl Talley, Chris Hinton, Henry Ellard, Albert Lewis, Charles Mann...all the way down to the second to last pick (Anthony Carter) was a multiple time pro bowl receiver. It's like a who's who of the players I watched as a kid...
Yeah. I noticed how they left out Talley, Mann and Carter. Those are huge names if you grew up in the 80s like I did. Mann was a huge part of the skins 80s success. Talley. Same thing for Buffalo. Carter was great but he had to go through San Fran and they had Montana and Rice. You mentioned others I hadn't remembered.
The Bears had easily the best draft of anyone based one rounding out their starting lineup. Jimbo Covert, Willie Gault, Tom Thayer, Mark Bortz, Richard Dent, Dave Duerson, and Mike Richardson. Yeah as Mike Ditka once again, I compare that class against anyones. But still the 1983 Draft is still the greatest ever.
@@michaelhession2105 Oh THAT was the big draft class that made the '86 Bears! I knew that they had a huge draft where they brought in a slew of talent to go along with guys like Walter Payton and Mike Singletary, but I thought it was '82 for some reason. This is all before my time anyways...
@@michaelhession2105 Though I don't think anything can compare to the Steelers' '74 draft class where I think they picked something like 5 future Hall of Famers...

OBJ, aaron donald, khalil mack, ryan shazier, jarvis landry, jimmy gorappalo, Jadaveon clowney, Anthony Barr, Eric ebron (whos killing it this year), kyle fuller, zack martin, dereck carr, cj mosley, brandin cooks, clinton-dix, devante adams, carlos hyde, allen robinson, donte moncrief (not terrible), and devanta freeman.
Because no one on that list even close to hof level or has had a lasting impact on the nfl. Aaron Donald could be a hof if he keeps playing like this but hes it.
2011 was such a top heavy draft. First 12 picks have got like 7-8 HOFers eventually I think. Green and Julio are on the way. Cam may not have a ring but MVP is great for a resume. Von Miller duh will get in. JJ Watt could've retired two years ago. Tyron Smith hopefully. Patrick Peterson is a Pro Bowler basically every year. Dareus needs to get a resurgence of dominance, but I won't sneer at two Pro Bowls. Aldon Smith is one of the biggest what-if stories. Even though he was amazing, I have to consider him a self-made bust because what idiot talks about bombs in an airport?! He's gonna be that guy that we tell our sons to NEVER be. The guy that had it all, pissed it away, and now has to live the rest of his life looking back and never able to correct that dysfunctional period in his life that never should've happened.
What did Peter Schrager mean by "You're gonna have Damon Amendolara come on this show & be waxing poetic about the 1972 NFL draft class." at 22:42-23:00?...
I donʼt know. I have said elsewhere here that 1972 would certainly - unless there is recency bias - be listed amongst the worst drafts of all time if NFL Films made such a list. Whether that fact was understood or so much as known by the commentator I do not know. It is possible but not probable that he is trying to point out old drafts were not necessarily good.

2001 should have been included. Steve Smith, Michael Vick, Santana Moss, Chad Johnson, Richard Seymour, Ladanian Tomlinson, Drew Brees and plenty more. One of the deepest drafts in my opinion.
2012 should b on there bc of andrew luck and ty hilton. Best duo in the last 10 years. Get out of my freaking face right now
How do you talk about the 2011 draft and not mention Richard Sherman?
@Ant P He had like 5 where he had the lowest passer rating when QB's threw to him
Ant P you must not watch much football huh?
I knew they were missing another hall of famer
I think they were focused more on the first 3 rounds or so. I think Sherm was a 5th rounder? I think the rationale is they're basing it more on the draft capital invested when compared to the resulting player versus player value as a whole
Bc he is the slowest corner in Madden
Life ain't fair

29:14 that play-by-play is really hilarious AF
1983 actually had 7 HOFers in round 1, 8 overall. He must have missed Jimbo Covert. So it really was a 1 in 4 chance of drafting a hall of Famer. Lots of other good players who were key parts of Suoer Bowl rosters into the 1990s: Jesse Sapolu, Charles Mann, Dave Duerson, Darryl Talley, Leonard Marshall, Roger Craig.
Covert didn't make the HOF. He was on the All-Decade team, but that was his highest achievement, besides the SB
@@dancrews7769 he also made the Hall. Just not in time for this show.
@@75aces97 You're correct, my mistake
That 1981 draft was ridiculous. Incredible defensive players. Probably the best lb and best safety of all time in one draft plus all the rest.

I mean...
- Patrick Mahomes

- Alvin Kamara
- Christian McCaffrey
- Dalvin Cook
- Marshon Lattimore
- Jamal Adams
- Marlon Humphrey
- Tredavious White
- George Kittle
- Chris Godwin
- Kenny Golladay
3:22 I don't think Damon got the idea here: Adam Vinatieri went undrafted, which means, he doesn't count when adding up drafted talent that year

@Harry Engel damn but we talking about HOF now
I see 4 hall of famers
The best draft by 1 team is the 1974 Steelers. Lynn Swann, John Stallworth, Mike Webster, and an added bonus, undrafted free agent Donnie Shell. All 5 are Hall of Famers!
Steelers had 4 HOF'ers in a draft that produced 5. Then add another via free agency. That's impossible.
That one dude is right, what the Ravens did in '96 will never be done EVER again... Drafting Two HOF'ers in the 1st Round.

Jimmy Smith
Richard Sherman
Patrick Peterson
JJ Watt
Cam Newton

It had great players but only probably 3 for sure HOF's with Miller, Watt, and Julio. Cam not going, Peterson isn't going, Green had injury problems so he isn't going. Sherman most likely isn't going either. And Julio is even arguable at this point considering Torry Holt and Steve Smith aren't in yet.

Harry Engel 1991/1992 were abysmal
1988...aundray Bruce was the 1st player taken
Apart from the definite first two of 2009 and 1992:
1976 also had only six First Team All-Pro nominating by five players, but had five Hall of Famers and of its twenty Pro Bowl players, five made at least six Pro Bowls, so it probably is doubtful here.
1972 (22:53) contained only two Hall of Famers - one of whom, Cliff Branch, is being inducted this year - and just 13 All-Pro First Team nominations
1977 had only one Hall of Famer in Tony Dorsett and nobody else with any prospect of reaching the Hall, although it had 19 first Team All-Pro nominations
1986 had only one Hall of Famer in fourth-rounder Charles Haley, only one other player in Leslie OʼNeal who seems likely to make Canton in the future, and only fourteen First-Team All-Pro selections
1999 had only twelve first-team All-Pro selections, although it has two Hall of Famers and Donovan McNabb (who never made a first team All-Pro) may be on the road to Canton.

@@ashleighelizabeth5916 I agree.
Okay I just have to say this:
Eli Manning deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. Here's why:
He has 4 pro bowls, which isn't a ton considering other qbs, yet above average.
Austin Stone agreed, plus he beat Brady twice
Austin Stone he will go first ballot
It is absolutely criminal not to have the 2004 draft on this list. The hall of famers alone should have it on the list

2. Big Ben
3. Philip Rivers
4. Larry Fitzgerald
5. Jonathan Vilma

Also missing from 2011 class.. Pouncey twins and richard sherman, Cameron Jordan, Tyron Smith, Jason Kelce.. all future HOFamers

Is it just me or are the announcers really soothing back in the day?
2:43, it wasn't really rare for a QB to not go #1 at the time, though. Between 70-97, a QB was taken #1 overall only 8 times. Since Peyton Manning was taken 1st in 98, a QB has gone #1 the majority of the time. But before that,. only 8 times in 28 drafts.
No QB selected in the entire 1st round though??

No way is Cam Newton going to the Hall of Fame.
I dont care what ANYONE says, how can you not include 2014? OBJ, aaron donald, khalil mack, ryan shazier, jarvis landry, jimmy gorappalo, Jadaveon clowney, Anthony Barr, Eric ebron (whos killing it this year), kyle fuller, zack martin, dereck carr, cj mosley, brandin cooks, clinton-dix, devante adams, carlos hyde, allen robinson, donte moncrief (not terrible), and devanta freeman.
I kind of agree!
Because no one on that list even close to hof level or has had a lasting impact on the nfl. Aaron Donald could be a hof if he keeps playing like this but hes it.
Odell beckham jr
@@willygalligan6462 how tf isnt aaron donald close to hof ...
Too early
20:28 3rd time now hahahaha (first and second pick chosen as rookie of the year of their respective position)
You're right about Aldon Smith, but it's not like his whole career is over, pretty sure he's a backup OLB for the Raiders right now
85% sure he got cut and that stint with Oakland was about as long as a sneeze.

Why does keyshawn Johnson have a ultimate legend in Madden 19 but emmitt Smith doesn't smh
Emmitt isn't even top 10 all time. His oLine was though.
Maybe because of licensing.
The 2012 Draft class was pretty nice as well RG3, Andrew Luck, Russell Wilson and I think Jimmy Graham
RG3 was a 1 year wonder and Jimmy Graham hasn't been relevant since he left New Orleans.
@@jpowers55I agree with you on RG3. He is a one-shot wonder.
Cam Newton was the only quarterback drafted in the first round in 2011, who had a great career. All the other quarterbacks Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert, and Christian Ponder were busts.
Newton is a bust too. 1 REALLY good season surrounded by several inadequate ones doesn't make a star. Best qb in that class was Dalton hands down.
What did the radio announcer mean by all of that stuff that he said at 29:15-29:26, basically?...
2014 is definitely going to be the best of all time
It's not better than 2011
