I disagree. Foles was horrible when he got back from injury and never won a game as a starter. Meanwhile rookie Gardner Minshew went 6.6 and played a lot better with the same team. Minshew has never looked that good since.

A number of these bad signings was the failure to understand what system made them successful with their previous teams. Don't just chase the name and stats, know what made them successful.
Some of these free agent signings don't always have to do with players underperforming it sometimes is due to stars going to bad teams, nmadi was a great zone corner but when he signed with the eagles they had him play more man and press than he ever played in oakland.
Considering that O'Donnell intentionally threw 2 oblivious interceptions in the super bowl as part of the "fix", he deserved ever bad thing that happened to him thereafter. No, not a Steelers fan. Just a football fan who hated seeing oblivious proof the game was fixed.

That year the Bears gave Glennon that contract AND traded up to get Trubisky ahead of Mahomes and Watson has to be the one of the biggest blunders ever.
i love that there's some new Top 10 content........ i know it's not official NFL Network / NFL Films but it's still great and well done, for years i'd have NFL Network Top 10 shows on as background noise, could watch stuff like this all day! Love the new lists, appreciate the work of you guys putting these together!
You’re close, it was Drew Brees, mainly known for having the second most passing yards in NFL history (he had the most actually until T*m Br*dy chained together a couple particularly diabolical seasons).
I'd like a vid on 5th year options. Players like daniel jones where the player was signed after the 5th yr option, and was a bad investment and players like Patrick Queen and Josh Jacobs, where a 5th yr option wasn't picked up and were also bad investments.
From what I heard about the Albert Haynesworth situation is that he went from playing on a 4-3 Defense with Tennessee to playing on a 3-4 Defense with Washington, which he HATED. That's why he struggled there and getting into it with the head coach.
I will never forget the NFL Network Top 10 special on this subject when they announced, "And the number 1 worst free-agent signing of all time... ANYONE to the Washington Redskins!" I fell out of my chair!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
He was a fun player in Seattle but you knew when he left he was gonna get paid to take on a bigger role. I don't think the financials for a 5 year/40 million is the worst deal if he had continued growing as a player. I think it was a rare worthwhile risk by Washington under Snyder considering just how bloated WR salaries randomly got.
Very talented but could never stay on the field. He only had one year where he wasn't on the DL. And he signed elsewhere and gave you nothing but time on the DL.
Ya wanna know the most hilarious part about Andre Rison in Cleveland? Art Modell said he signed him because the experts claimed Andre could be better than Jerry Rice. As NFL Network mentioned, the difference was Jerry Rice was committed to being great, whereas Andre Rison was fine with being good.
See the Cowboys avoid being on the list by ignoring free agency and re-signing their own guys to ridiculous contracts that end up in them being cut early 90% of the time. Always having dead cap from this also makes it so we never use free agency
LeCharles Bentley with the Browns in 2006 could be on the list since he gotten injured on the 1st play of practice in training camp and never played in a game with Cleveland after that. Contract was 6 year/$36 million at signing.
I'm starting to think most free agent signings in the NFL end up being busts, that's why I don't know why free agency is such a big deal in the NFL, most never live up to the money they get or just flat out suck
Some of the honorable mentions are examples of desperation by a team. It's not that this player is worth that money, but we need a player of at least their talent so we will pay them as if they are a higher talent and assume that is the case. Its a move usually done by someone desperate to fill the shortcomings of their drafting and free agency finds from a season before, or to patch the roster they obtained from someone else. There's only so much talent to go around but to bid against yourself for a player you know and everyone knows is a reach is a quick way for someone to reach for your contract as GM/HC and tear it up.
He was better than overrated deanegelo hall who robbed the raiders the same ocfseasin as javon walker signing and making tommy Kelly the Leagues highest paid defensive lineman lmao remember?

I Love Your UA-cam Channel So Much NFL Throwback
Could do a couple hour video of jett or dan snyder failures in drafting/free agency
i love that there's some new Top 10 content........ i know it's not official NFL Network / NFL Films but it's still great and well done, for years i'd have NFL Network Top 10 shows on as background noise, could watch stuff like this all day! Love the new lists, appreciate the work of you guys putting these together!
“Fat Albert Haynesworth” 😂😂😂 that brotha got paid and got lazy 😂😂😂
I remember the Bengals offered Golliday. Glad he didn't sign with them now 😅
Le'Veon Bell really threw his whole career away.
Foles still got a ring. Rison was fire until Left Eye sent fire to his house In Atlanta!
deshaun watson is an honorable mention already
Trae Waynes with Cincinnati was next level terrible
Check out the pass at 2:14 to Boston.... Who was the QB for that team?!? Uncle Rico??
Nah, it was Drew Brees. One kf greatest QBs of all time. Great quarterbacks make bad passes sometimes
I remember how mad I was that my eagles ended up with Malcolm Jenkins instead of Jarius Byrd
From what I heard about the Albert Haynesworth situation is that he went from playing on a 4-3 Defense with Tennessee to playing on a 3-4 Defense with Washington, which he HATED. That's why he struggled there and getting into it with the head coach.
Always love these videos
Im sorry but Laveon bell was plagued with a terrible o line.
He was. But even after he left he never did anything
Was HansWorth it?
When are you doing a top ten trade fails to include Russel Wilson?
I love this channel so much ❤
We’re brushing the dust off this classic !!
Russell Wilson should of been on here
Whos here after finding out Russel Wilson is going to Pittsburgh.
They got him for a song....then traded for Fields.... gotta wonder
Redskins also had Bruce Smith and Moose Johnson that both could have made this list
I will never forget the NFL Network Top 10 special on this subject when they announced, "And the number 1 worst free-agent signing of all time... ANYONE to the Washington Redskins!" I fell out of my chair!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Watson to the Browns was so awful.
Bruh, I don't even remember Paul Richardson, lol. I'm glad I don't.
Always having dead cap
from this also makes it so we never use free agency
Stumbled upon this, and. liked it immediately. Great narration and content, binged for 3 hours and there's still more!! Thank you!!!
LeCharles Bentley with the Browns in 2006 could be on the list since he gotten injured on the 1st play of practice in training camp and never played in a game with Cleveland after that. Contract was 6 year/$36 million at signing.
Every time i hear Javon Walker i remember him for getting his ass beat and robbed at a club the most
Chappell show wouldn’t be anything without d Rollins ? That’s like saying Deion branch wouldnt Tom Brady be anything without him 😂
I'm starting to think most free agent signings in the NFL end up being busts, that's why I don't know why free agency is such a big deal in the NFL, most never live up to the money they get or just flat out suck
I think a lot of it stems from how big of a deal it was when free agency became a thing and how it allowed teams to quickly rebuild
@@cooperwolfe5478 yes I can see that, ultimately the best way to build a team is hitting on the draft
Great episode
Nnamdi was a Man-To-Man CornerBack and the Eagles at the time used a Lotta Zone In their Defense and he didn’t fit the Eagles Scheme defensively
Whoever decided to make Josh Norman the highest paid NFL corner deserves to not have a job
He was better than overrated deanegelo hall who robbed the raiders the same ocfseasin as javon walker signing and making tommy Kelly the Leagues highest paid defensive lineman lmao remember?
@@eric3298 usually making a player, the highest paid at their position usually doesn't plan out
Enter Russell Wilson
Don’t think I couldn’t click any faster!!!!
As a Washington fan I'm hurt
