I totally forgot about this show! I loved watching the food network when I was younger. I spent my mornings getting ready for school with the TV on and after school as well. I loved this show, christine cooking live, sugar, 30 minute meals, barefoot contessa, $40 a Day, Giada at Home, Iron Chef, Kylie Kwong: Simply Magic, Nigella Feasts/Bites/Express, Paula's Home Cooking, Ricardo and Friends mainly. Sugar was my favourite with Anna Olson because I love baking. So many memories! My childhood!
Drives me nuts that they brought back good eats but not this since this show was my life when I was little I swear on my life when I was growing up in Canada instead of watching cartoons or similar I watched foodnetwork and this was my favourite show and seeing it now I get the chilling sense of nostalgia that leaves you staring into the distance reminiscing about the past He is the reason I can cook so well I learnt so much just watching him everyday when I was very young and it all just stuck with me
Lol! He's a cool guy. I meet him in 2009, when I was 15. He came to Vancouver, Surrey British Columbia. Got a photo with him while holding his new cook book at the time. I was too shocked to say anything lol he was really really tall.
That’s standard. If the slots in your knife block go vertically always store knives sharp side up. It just prolongs the sharpness - you aren’t dragging your blade across something every time. Or some blocks like mine have slots horizontally.
Scientists keep reversing themselves... In the 1990's, they warned against tropical oils, peanut oil (which could presumably bring an elephant down with heart failure, since peanut oil was the deadliest oil of all), and butter was the ultimate sin -- "Eat MARGARINE! It's far healthier than butter!" They promoted canola as the healthiest oil, followed by soybean oil. Broccoli was the undisputed super food, the healthiest of all veggies. Now, in the 21st century, tropical oils and peanut oil have made a tremendous comeback (don't ask me why), canola is deadly, margarine (which I ate for 20 YEARS due to the scientists, tho' I was raised on butter) is out ("Eat butter! It's healthy! Eat LARD!!! Lard is healthier than margarine!), and broccoli has been determined to have unhealthy components which will wreck your health. I've quit jumping on scientific bandwagons. To hell with the scientists; I eat whatever I please, including butter, broccoli, cheese, and nuts (which are now "healthy", while they used to be fatty no-no's). My aunt often repeated her mantra: "Everything in moderation." So when scientists said that sugar substitutes were as bad as sugar, I kept right on drinking my Diet Dr. Pepper. I don't have enough years left to wait for the scientists to reverse themselves again, saying, "Oops, we goofed. Again." I honestly never thought they could debunk broccoli. And this is coming from someone who somehow managed to survive saccharine, cyclamates, and Red Dye #2!!! 😺💕🐾
With as long as chicken takes to cook, why are you waiting til everything else is cooked, before cooking the chicken?? It should’ve been put on the grill before anything else was even started
Notice how the vegetables and rice were still in the pan on the stove. So that he can re heat it before serving. This way with chicken being last can eat it straight off the grill.

I love chef Michael, I watched him for years and he is my favourite. I like how fame didn't change him like other chefs, and he's so likeable
I use to watch him as a child to clam my anxiety

We always called him the High Guy. Loved his show.
He's not stoned. :D
Titus McCarthy thats what you think 🤣
Unforgettable episode...
I'm sure this aired 15+ years ago? I still remember it like it was yesterday and I was only maybe 15 years old at the time.
I always thought jerk chicken was made with habaneros (too hot), so chipotles are a nice twist. That's a jerk chicken recipe that I can eat!
He is likable! Like other chefs are snob, fame went through their head....I prefer Canadians.

Michael Smith. One of my favorite shows with your wife & son. 😋

Such a great chef
Hes my dad
Is he making cooking parody of himself??😂🤣CENTRAL AMERICAN INFUSION!!! Mr. Marinade meet Mr. Chicken!!!😂😂😂 Man he went savage on the margarine isle.
He should not have put that margarine back after he opened it!!!!
Margarine is the worst, almost plastic. It was never allowed in my kitchen and never MSG.
Titus McCarthy that was just for show though. I’m sure they didn’t keep it after it was opened
I remember i would get high watch this then go cook the best munchies 🤣

No. You’re thinking of canola oil.
@@thermicbonkery Nope. The show began in 2004, and this was episode 25. It aired March 22, 2005.
