just made this with a little tweak...used thin, boneless porkchops, i had no sofrito on hand so i chopped onion, cilatro & tomato, added a bit more water and cubed up a few potatoes and had over white rice....EXCELLENT!!
I have a puerto rican bf and wanted to make some puerto rican dishes for him and came upon your recipes. Just made this porkchop dish with the arroz con gandules and it came out really delicious! Really easy to make, thank you!
I really appreciate your channel! of all the ways I have tried to make white rice, your tutorial was the most precise and my rice FINALLY came out great. I paired it with these chuletas and dinner was fantastic. I am Dominican but nationality aside, I must say your cooking skills and precise instruction are very admirable. Thank you!
I made this recipe last night it was delicious! So glad I had a left over chop just had it for lunch. We loved your pollo guisado too. Thank you for taking the time to share your recipes.
Hi Nilda, thanks for your videos. A couple of my best friends are Puerto Rican and I love their cooking, but I never learned how to cook it. My favorite is Arroz con gandules. Thanks again, I'm so happy to try your recipes.
ill be trying this one tuesday!! i am italian my BF is half dominican & half puertorican hes sick of my italian food lol he will love this when he comes home from work!
Omg I made these today with your puerto rican rice and it was amazing! I put some juice over the pork chops and rice and it was to die for! Another meal that is a keeper!
My mom cooks her chuletas in water too! (Nationality Ecuadorians) And I though she was the only one! I cook mine in oil but I'm definitely gonna try your receipe. Thank you! Btw love your wedding ring band.
If I'm doing 8 of them should I double the recipe? Like 2 cups of water and double the sazon ect? I mean its obvious lol but I don't wanna add too much water..
For thin pork chops about 30 minutes. But please check your chops in between. Once you put your fork to see if it rips at the corners, than it is good serve. Let me know how they come out for you.
I made the pork chops. My husband enjoyed them, but they were a little salty for my taste. To that end, should I use less adobo or less sazon next time?
Less adobo. The sazon although it does give some seasoning but because the packets are small it's not that much. The main purpose of sazon is for coloring. Keep me posted on how it comes out next time
i am so scared to cook any kind of pork, someone told me that i have to boil pork, pork chops too before i cook or fry them, just in case they should have some kind of bacteria, is this true ? thank you.
I never heard of that. I do know that pork should be cooked for at least 30 minutes or more whether you fry them or boil them. Don't be afraid to cook pork chops. Let me know if you end up making this dish and how it comes out for you. Best of luck. Nildas Kitchen
+Selene Uribe I am born American and have eaten my beef medium and medium rare throughout my life (usually steak). Pork I have had cooked well and medium. My wife is Dominican and after visiting her country several times I understand why they cook the hell out of everything, but it's just not necessary in America. I mean, I understand if you grew up outside here where the meat is left outside or the meat is not held in safe temperatures then yeah, cook it a long time, but in America you don't have that problem really. I find much more satisfaction cooking my pork chops a little under well done. All animal proteins are like a sponge and as you cook the meat (chicken, pork, beef) for a long time it's like squeezing the sponge. At the end it will be dry. Of course it depends on the cooking method. If you braise the meat it can be fall apart delicious with a nice sauce, but grilling meat well past well done how my wife likes is a travesty and a waste of meat in my opinion.
+Josh Gamble Just be careful of the rogue meat package. Someone picks a pack changes their mind and leaves it on the cookie isle. Later on someone picks it up and then puts it back in the meat dept. Never know how long it was sitting in the cookie isle before someone put it back.
You did it backwards it’s supposed to be water then seasoning then stir it all up last put the pork chops it looks like you didn’t really mix up the flavoring
Ai si. Gringa chuletas. Gisadas..grasias.por. la. Receta.en. ingles.a. grasias.que.entiendo. ingles pero bueno..I. el. Que. No entieda..que. selas. Trage. Crudas.
Use natural ingredients sazon and adobo have msg. I use turmeric for color or you can simmer some annatto in oil and use the oil. I stir fry pork chops with dry seasonings, sofrito and tomato sauce first, then add water. I
Can you fix your website, nildaskitchen.net? I love your videos and have made several of your recipes. The recipes on the website gave the ingredient list though and makes it easier for me to follow along. Wish you had more cooking videos and recipes to try too! :)
Why would you add the sofrito, sazon, and tomato sauce AFTER putting the pork chops into the pan when you can't combine the flavors??? It's amazing how many people have no common sense or cooking skills.
That looks gross mamita... who adds water? Cover it with a bit of oil and cover it at low flame...cook the chops a bit then add the sofrito and please add onions omg that guisado looks sad...
The oil dries up Constantly and u will have to continue to add oil and that dries up the pork... Also its a stew so u want it to have caldo at the end.
horrible looking chops and sauce...suppose to season it with salt and pepper so the adobo doesn't burn while browning the chops, then adding the sofrito, sazon and tomato sauce/paste and then water.
You add an immense amount of salt to your dishes; first sason then adobo. You generally use 2 to 3 packets in each dish. Do you know that the first ingredient in sason is MSG. MSG and salt are very bad for our health. It affects every organ in our body. Big food corporations use salt as a cheap and addictive alternative to real natural flavorings. We don't have to continue to make them rich and us sick, instead we can make better choices. We can cook like our grandparents did with fresh natural ingredients and no chemical additives.
As I write this comment, I'm making this for my husband and I. I'm very excited to try this. From Honduras 🇭🇳 ❤💜
One of my favorite dishes. Love when it's done the meat falls apart. I hope your husband loves it. Please keep me posted. Enjoy ♥

Going to make this tonite
Think it would be good to simmer the sofrito a little with the tomato sauce before adding the water and pork chops?
That’s what I’m saying
Great recipe. Thanks.
Thank you for all your help! Thank you Nilda!
I add potatoes now adays and we love it.
Looks easy thanks for sharing Nilda..
My mom cooks her chuletas in water too!
(Nationality Ecuadorians)

I tried this with chicken as well as pork chops and it tasted great! Thank you for this simple recipe. I liked the chicken better btw.
So good just made
Can you make more videos! So easy to understand and follow! Thank you :)
Your food looks great cant wait to try them. was wondering if I don't eat pork, can I use beef?
Pam Russell i don’t see why not. Just make sure it’s something that’s tender when roasted so it doesn’t dry
Brown the meat first and you will thank me later...🇯🇲
Do you have to add the tomato sauce, or it can be done without it ?
Can u use red sofrito instead of green?
You can use whatever you like. . Let me know how it comes out. I'm sure it will taste delicious.
nildaskitchen Red worked great, it was so delicious, thank you for the recipe!
delicious
I'm cooking this tonight for my wife and son.
She's a CUTIE PIE.
If I'm doing 8 of them should I double the recipe? Like 2 cups of water and double the sazon ect? I mean its obvious lol but I don't wanna add too much water..
can I use tomato soup instead of tomato sauce and what type of Sauzon Goya are you using I saw a couple of different ones
how long would the thin porkchops need to cook
For thin pork chops about 30 minutes. But please check your chops in between. Once you put your fork to see if it rips at the corners, than it is good serve. Let me know how they come out for you.
Was good but I added a little bit to much adobo but I love how it made the pork chops tender
Girl, pure on the sauce!! Also where’s the garlic and i prefer to have my chops marinated.
I would have browned it first than stewed it...
Me too I always brown it first in a little oil
Can you please make a video for kidney beans as a side of rice
nilda can this be done with thin boneless porkchops
Absolutely. Let me know how it comes out. :)
I made the pork chops. My husband enjoyed them, but they were a little salty for my taste. To that end, should I use less adobo or less sazon next time?
Less adobo. The sazon although it does give some seasoning but because the packets are small it's not that much. The main purpose of sazon is for coloring. Keep me posted on how it comes out next time
Thank you Nilda!
Good recipe maybe another spoonful of sofrito and only 1 pack of Sazon and a dash or two of black pepper otherwise spot on..
yummy thank you!!
I think it's better to use the thinner pork chops as they are generally more soft. So, it will be even more tender and smooth
If you fry them it comes out crispy and dry, If you boil them like this they become juicy and full of flavor enough to eat them with plain rice..
I always brown my pork chops first
You need to have light it was a bit dark
You know what you doing.
i am so scared to cook any kind of pork, someone told me that i have to boil pork, pork chops too before i cook or fry them, just in case they should have some kind of bacteria, is this true ? thank you.

+Selene Uribe Al meat has bacteria on it. Rinse it well and if you like you can soak them in 1 part vinegar 1 part water. Then rinse and cook them.

thats not as effective than browning the chops first then build the sauce, then adding the chops again towards the end.
No garlic, onions, culantro😫
Why would you add the sofrito, sazon, and tomato sauce AFTER putting the pork chops into the pan when you can't combine the flavors???
It's amazing how many people have no common sense or cooking skills.
Pls elaborate sir
