- This is a real treat. A gem. This is the first public performance of The Deftones song "Bored." Listen to Chino before and after the song. The lyrics are raw, the changes and the arrangement are different. And all this on a night that saw Salmon and Korn on the bill at the Berkeley Square circa late '94. History in the making. Enjoy!!!
The song was actually titled "Oralled" at this point in the writing (I hung out with Steph almost everyday from 93-95).... Oh, and "Adrenaline" was to supposed to be "Communion" until after the album was mastered.
94 was hot that year with deftones and korn.
It’s crazy to think that while grunge was in its peak during this time, these guys were setting trail for a new genre.

Well, for the scene in the Bay at that time, the Deftones were pretty popular. They had a good following and at this club as well as the Cattle Club in Sacto, they consistently packed the place. So, yeah, people were "getting it" for sure. Thanks for looking, and a long time coming but I have some more vids to put up hopefully by New Years.

I know some people wouldn't agree, but this song shows the Black Sabbath influence on DT. I'm a huge Deftones fan, but listen to "Symptom of the Universe" by BS and you'll see the similiarities. Its always good when bands pay tribute to their influences. Deftones FOREVER!!!

I'm an "oldschooler", i grew up with Van Halen,Wasp, Antrax,Megadeth,AC/DC back in black album and a lot more. I'm been in hundres of concerts, but when I saw Deftones once in Miami i get in shock with their energy on stage! People got krazy w 7 words! Since that, a huge fan! Agreed. I saw maybe 40 shows pre-adrenaline and a bunch after, but my last was on the first leg of the Around the Fur tour partly because after seeing them this way, fighting crowds seemed dumb, and also because they started getting a little sloppy live. The studio stuff is still great for me, but live the lustre is gone. thanks for the comment

I was at this show. The square was one of the best small venues in the bay. I was also at a show I want to say for M.I.R.V. just a few weeks after they re did their sound system and then they closed like 2 months later.

I remember getting into them around this time seeing them at Berkeley Square, awesome club by the way. The next time I saw them was opening for Primus on the 3rd, I think, Halloween Freak out at Henry J. Kaiser in Oakland.

there hit or miss live, the last 2 times i saw them one was when the headlined taste of chaos and that was shit, but i saw them after SNW came out and it was one of the best i've ever seen them, age is takin its toll on chino and unfortunatley his live show suffers

this videos sick. the lyrics are different from the version that made it onto adrenaline. i wish i had the chance to see these guys back inthe day, before chino destroyed himself. They're still good, i saw them not too long ago, but they were the shit back in the day.

yeh great find this! especially love the double bridge in the middle and heavier ending..in some ways i think they should have kept those bits in the tune i still love both versions though note how fucking heavy the drums are! abe goes sick. my band cover this version of the tune makes it that much more fun to play..

So therefore, using my brain, and basic reasoning, THIS IS THE ORIGINAL VERSION. It came first. Original, get it? The "Bored" on the album came later. Basic math. Don't correct me on things you can't comprehend.
