- Deftones played at The Galaxy in St. Louis - December 10th, 1996. We did a two camera shoot of the first four songs and edited it live in the club for our public access show. This is the raw footage from that night.

Lmao it’s funny to me that Chino just shows up, casually goes “sup” and then proceeds to murder his vocal chords with that scream and kill the entire show. Killer show man.
Dude was a mad man for sure so good
That what he does
whoever the tech dude was deserved a fucking raise bro.... drums sounded amazing as well as everything else
That birthmark performance is incredible.
It really is
One of the best shows ive seen from this era...im 18 man I wish i couldve been around in the 90s bruh
Love the pfp. Helmet is badass
This was my first Deftones concert...I've seen them alot and this remains the absolute best ever show..freakn' amazing...DEFTONES4LIFE!!!!
+Jaime Judkins wow to experience it in that environment must have been amazing
Jaime Judkins that is awesome I was there as well the next time I had seen them at galaxy was with limp biz. that show was even better.
I miss the galaxy!
Its always better to see bands in their prime. Before fame, before old age, before they lose that energy. All the live production value in the world cant beat a stripped down and hungry band putting their entire existence into it.
Peanut butter n JEALOUSSSSSSSSSSAAAA
rest in peace chi :(
🥺
Still can't believe I was here!! Miss the Galaxy.
This show has fabulous Deftones Energy
Well, I know where I'm headed when I finally perfect my time machine. God damn!
bring me together pls
PM when that timemachine is ready, I fucking missed this. FUCKKKKKKKK this is fucking heaven.
Early deftones and early tool shows would be the first places I stop
I'll be there waiting for you.
back in the womb we hope
I believe I seen them on this exact same tour in Detroit at the Shelter in late 96. Still till this day one of the most memorable shows in my life. Deftones is one of the most real, honest and most authentic bands.

Gracias!
Deftones were everything everyone else wanted to be after they came out, i remember people calling them "aggro-rock", "skate rock" or "hardcore". Ozzfest was great those years. I think this was the tour with Helmet, Quicksand and Orange 9mm. Would kill for a tour package that ill today. ALL those bands slay.
Yup! I remember all of these bands coming out of the woodwork sounding like copycats. Glassjaw too..
Sacraments hardcore was another one I heard.
That crowd is straight feeling it
My 15 year old daughter introduced me to this awesome band!!!!!!
Your daughter’s got impeccable music taste 👍🏽
@@deena2931 I second this
Ayo based.👍
Fuck yeah!
Can't help sharing, love the crowd, the band , full of energy.. and Chino's sexy voice! :D
Rx Queen nicely put!
i think a homeless crackhead would sound better honestly
This looks like it would've been so much fun to be at. It's a shame music isn't viewed the same way anymore.
There are newer bands like title fight and the story so far that bring this same energy to their shows..
Man Chi was such a fucking beast! RIP brother.
Invent that fkn time machine, I wanna be there... Fkn amazing!!! Deftones forever, best band in the world. Fan forever and ever
Deftones were my first concert back in 95. They were humble then and they're humble now. There's a lot of talent is this band. Abe is probably the stand-out. Every guitarist I'm aware of wants a drummer with that kind of power and creativity. He knows how to accommodate a bassist as well
I like how at 10:12 they’re all in sync. So awesome man
The energy of this show goddamn
What Chino did @14:45 letting the fan yell into the mic just showed Deftones appreciation for there audience and that's how they got their loyal fan-base!! Great performance.. definitely gonna watch again!!!
That was me.. swear to god.
@@johnnyparamedic Really? Lucky!!
lmaooo he could literally fart into a mic and yall would find a way to praise it
@@johnnyparamedic lmaoooo neeeeerd
@@uglyboibitchtitss hope you're in a better spot in life than the loneliness that made you write this comment :)
deftones for life
Deftones "Adrenaline" is with Korn's "Korn", Rage Against The Machine "Ratm", Machine Head's "Burn my eyes" and Fear Factory's "Demanufacture" one of the best rock album ever!
Papa roach- olds Friends from young year nice works
How bout quicksand slip
And slipknot's self titled
No dissrespect, all of these are great but Deftones "Adrenaline" is the best by far!
@@brandisusc it really was just that pure energy in the English language
man, look at those dreads fly! so sick!!
I will always have love for these guys
Shit! I just had a flashback leaving my high school parking lot blasting this album outta my car. We were completely blown away by this album because we had never heard anything quite like it at the time.
RIP Chi Cheng
deftones back in the day so crazy, Chino in the crowd half the show! great times! to be young again. those screeches he used to do must have been hell on the vocal chords. this is not to say they aren't good live anymore.
That crowd is nuts!! Awesome!
St. Louis bro.
Cuando camilo wong moreno (chino moreno) era joven.

Nosebleed still the best song IMO by deftones love the screams!
1:33 LET THE CHAOS BEGIIIIN
such power
20 years later an the shows are just as awesome and intense and the music still, STILL fucking amazing ... (RIP CHI) an thankyou Terry Date for producing some masterpieces.
FUCKING AWESOME
so fuckin sick deftones fav band since 95
So, I saw them last night in Philly. After all these years, they can still draw a huge ass crowd! It was so good to see so many fans are still out there! I grew up listening to them and have loved them for over 20 years now. The crowd was still wild as fuck! All of us old kids, lol jammin right along with the younger twenty somethings who are just being turned on to Deftones. These boys will forever have a place in my heart. #deftones
Amen to that
GET YOUR HEADPHONES ON GUYS AND JUST LISTEN TO ABE (DRUMMER) SOUNDS FUCKING BADASS...
God damn I love this.
One of the best live recordings I've seen on here! Fucking amazing!
This is around the same time I seen them live a club just like this packed the first few shows from when they released around the fur tour and this is when you could jump around bump into people get sweaty and crowd surf the whole time never any fights all live back then hard to do now days
It's sucks that aging is a thing
Lucas - no it isn't age gives them beauty
Lucas - chino is still sexy and still sounds better than most out there
Lucas - Time is our worst enemy, but what you do in between is what matters. The Deftones have toured the world over dozens of times and even played in a volcano so they have been very fortunate.
Sounds like an immature as shit thing to say. Age is a number. Mindset is relative. Immaturity is eternal for some.
It sucks that commenting is a thing
Chills for days
That was amazing
Thanks for sharing! Back in da day. Pure Awesomeness
Greatest band of all time
wow.... just wow... thank you for this
Thank you, and RIP Chi
That's is fucking AWESOME!!! So many thanks for sharing this!! Live it!
HOLY SHIT this is good. WOWOWOWOWOWOW.
Bless you. Nice footage fo' sho.
Had this on repeat for almost a week now, just so much energy and emotion
Hell yeah I was there
Been a Deftones fan since 95 and watch this video every day...much luv thank you!!
thanks, the Warped Tour episode is the only other video we have of them.
Thanks a lot dude, the only way to see the Deftones i really like was here!
7:27 perfect example of Abe being a badass.
Pure awesomeness. thanx a lot for uploading this, fuckin brilliant.
Chino: "This is called seven words! - Crowd: "Oooohhh shiiit, damn!"
Wow we have the same pic bro😎👍
WTF this live footage is fucking amazing. Thank you LepersTV. Subscribed
That ending with the tape... the beginning of a legend.
Jesus you can hear their youth through the music.....Fucking Birthmark when he hits @10:57
I took off work the night before this show to see Cannibal Corpse for the first time @ The Galaxy. While I wasn't pissed I was highly disappointed to see the flyer for this show the following night, knowing damn well I couldn't slip away two nights in a row. I wish I had.
Fuck wow....
I would’ve quit my job
amazing band!
I'm genuinely impressed... And nostalgic.
What is the equivalent of this scene nowadays?
"Alternative" music is not so alternative anymore.
borkug nu metal. And it won't ever be like this again sadly

I like how they played the nosebleed demo, instead of album's version
how does this not have more views
shout out to chino's mic effects :D
Incredible
The intro of birthmark is insane
Ah memories.
Great footage, Deftones at there best...
*at their best
My very first deftones show! I was there!
Ah, The Galaxy! Great venue, little more than a bar with a stage. I only saw one show there; it was Robbie Krieger of The Doors with his band. Good times; great sounds.
@dem ise ,I was that kid ...that cemented me as a lifelong fan...awesome!
Que bestia !! excelente banda , respeto mucho a deftones !
legendary
You can tell it's the 90's. The people in the pit are NOT taking shitty phone video.
Guarantee you there's some douche with a VHS camcorder through, which would of also been you if you were there.
I was at the Chicago Metro show a week before this with Orange 9 and Downset. Changed my life.
holy shit that was fucking amazing
RIP Chi
Bloody hell! Fucking awesome performance!!
This is the best performance I've ever seen from them and I'm a DIE HARD
Beast!
damn that's so fucking good
DAMN this shit was LIVE as fuck back then oh my GOD!!!!!
Security guard is getting pissed he is just throwing goons
Off the stage!!!!
Bahahahahahah
Amazing crew... amazing band 🔥🔥
Man, I remember a bunch of my brother's friends went to this show back home in St. Louis. I remember I was so jealous because I had just gotten Adrenaline and wanted to go so bad, but my mom wouldn't let me (I was going on 13 at the time). But this reminds me of all the great concerts back home when rock music was still alive and well. Coincidentally, mom let me see Korn at Mississippi Nights that same year (go figure). Probably why she didn't want me going to this one, cause it was insane.
DAMN I miss Mississippi Nights! About the same size as The Galaxy. That venue never should've never shut down. That's where I saw Hum in '98 my first and only time. Fuel was one of the openers. Sad that at that time they were getting more airplay than Hum.
Fuck! Thank you for this.
right on dawg
They must have gone through so many cymbals, sticks and skins. Abe is an animal and I love it!
Just like your endless bass lines you will for ever
chino's singing was amazing back in the day....
lmao his singing is legit the one bad thing about this band. its the worst.
@@uglyboibitchtitss you’re literally a low live judging by ur comments get a hobby bum
@@uglyboibitchtitss Nowadays yeah... Back then, they sounded EXACTLY like they did on the album (except when he was intoxicated out of his ass)
2:19 this is a genius level, appealingly atonal vocal run here. Holy shit. He was doing microtonal stuff wayyyy before it was a thing. Sounds otherworldly!
Shit is so damn fire.
Beasts
Root is my favorite song off that album
Was there... and I remember it hahaha. Limp Bisquick opened for them,, 300 people mayb jammed into a little bar
