This footage is from the 'Til the End European tour that I was on with DevilDriver. The band did a mix of festivals and club shows throughout the two and a half week tour. This video was taken at Reload Festival in Sulingen, Germany.
I did the best I could with what I have as far as quality and equipment goes. I wasn't able to get better sound from the sound board so all you are really hearing is the drum sounds from the camera.
Also, keep in mind that this isn't Austin's personal kit. It's a loaner kit that he used from the festival. I believe only the cymbals and pedals from the kit are his.

I was blown away by this cat's chops, intensity, and conviction when I saw Devildriver play in small venue a few months before the first lockdown. When you see this dude play live, he totally steals the show!

To the people saying they prefer the old drummer: I couldn’t disagree more. HOWEVER, this is the version I watched first. There’s no denying this drummer is great, but if you grew up on the old version, I understand not liking this one. IMO, from watching both at virtually the same time, I think the old version is good but basic, and this drummer majorly spices it up. I love the way he plays it. Very unique.
Austin is pretty much known for placing “accents” all over the place. It’s just his style which really is a matter of taste. 🤘

I'm new to DevilDriver and just watched live performances from both while in the band, and as someone not biased by nostalgia and 'what used to be' I say Austin was better.

let me explain. this guy. he shut my mouth real quick when i seen him live. Twas a show in atlanta georgia,the masquerade venue. idk 2009 ish....Bleed the sky was opening up for Soulfly. my freind a i were front row. i remember he came onstage just wearing purple swim trunks, with a drink in his hand with an umbrella in it .We turned to each other like who is this lame fucker? Blew our nuts off second he got behind the kit. Iwill forever not forget. He jammed with Chimaira for awhile then this band. Take back any negative you have to say about this drummer. My dude is a badass.
Still waiting for Bleed The Sky to come back. But anything he touches im ok with. Dude is a beast.

His drumming is too freestyle, listen to dealing with demons album....messy and noisy...the songs have lost the dynamic cause the drumming pattern follows the guitar picking a lot

boecklin was not a great technical drummer.he was good but often played the same stuff.Devildriver have already made the right choice with Austin
