I am looking for a budget priced action camera and I wanted to say that your reviews are phenomenal! They are the best reviews out there by far. You have really helped me narrow my choices and make a decision. Thank you for what you do!

to get a fov like GoPro you need the Insta 360 One R with the 1 inch lens. no other action camera has a fov like GoPro. even those that have 170 fov it's still not good as GoPro. as the saying goes: " you get what you pay".
Hey Good review video man! i have a question. which of the akaso cameras is your favorite? i just purchased the v50 pro and im wondering if i should return it for something else. thanks
Hello, did you try to put a 128GB SD card in it ? It says that the maximum is 64GB but I heard that some device can handle more than announced and and work perfectly. Thanks in advance for the answer 🙏
No, it uses a low voltage battery (3.7v I think). 12v would fry the camera. You would have to use a step down buck converter to convert 12v to the required voltage.
Hi, I'm thinking about getting an action camera to record myself playing tennis by mounting it to the fence In your opinion, do you think this would work well enough for what I'm wanting to do? I'm between this and the Akoso 7 le which you've also done a video on I know that you know a lot about cameras and i would like your input Thank you for your time
Alex - Well done, as always. Are action cameras batteries interchangeable from one camera manufacturer to another if they have the same milliamp rating? For example, could 1350mAh battery from Apeman work in a Campak camera which also takes a 1350 mAh battery?
Hey, i dont really know really much about action cameras but i have been watching tons of reviews and yours are really really good! I have a question, i wanna buy one of those but i dont really know wich one. I want it for my rides on track with my pit bike, some ones that i have on my mind are these, the v50x, apeman a80, eken h9s... and i have seen some refurbished go pros on aliexpress, hero 4 and session 4 on this price range... I love your excellent reviews. I'm always looking at cheap back up cameras for sale on Facebook and you've often done reviews on the cameras I've found. The way you set out your reviews is excellent and I love the area you live in which is also happens to be the same name as the street I live in, in Australia. The suburb and scenery is so nice that originally I thought you were in Europe. Thanks from Australia for sharing your reviews with us all across the world 😁
Placed an order after seeing your review, thanks! I noticed that there is light bleed along the right edge on the LCD screen. Would this be considered normal with these budget action cams?
I’m surprised you were able to find this camera. Seems to have been sold out everywhere. Yeah, unfortunately these cheap action cameras don’t have the best build quality

Tricky to get hold of it in South Africa I might have to buy and import off the webstore, does it come with 2 spare batteries totaling 3 or only 1 spare totaling 2 batteries? I'd like to start up some moto vlogging in the near future and this is probably the best budget camera for a chin mounted helmet setup with external mic. Eventually a brave 7le for a secondary bike mounted camera.
I have been watching a lot of your videos trying to make up my mind but still I can't decide! I want an action camera for skating to attach in the helmet mainly. I was thinking about the 6 plus. Which one do you think it will be better?
The SJCAM SJ8 Pro will have better video quality and a better internal microphone but the Brave 6 Plus has much better image stabilization. Depends what's the most important for you
A few shortcomings sure yet hard to beat for the price imo. Pretty impressed with it's image stabilization too making it stand out even more in this price range. If I were in the need for an action camera would definitely give the Akaso Brave 6 Plus serious consideration.
Hello how are you? I will ask 1 question if you don't mind, its normal on the brave 6 plus in video recording every 9min. It will set another frame of recording? Thanks!
Nice Video. Please where did you get the colorful filter that you mentioned in the video? Can you leave a link below on where to buy that filter and any Akaso nd filters or cpl filters? Thank you.
yes, but not by default. if you're gonna use OBS(or another similar software) for youtube videos or livestream, action cameras or the regular cameras require a capture card. for 1080p/60 fps it costs $180, and if you want 4k/60 fps it costs $250. the best option is the Logitech Brio HD Pro webcam, but not from amazon. the price went up to $300+ from around $180. on Logitech store it costs $200. it records at 1080p/60 fps and 4k/30 fps. you don't need a capture card so it's cheaper than action camera + capture card combo. the other webcams are cheaper but they don't have good quality. if you have the money for action camera + capture card go for it, and if you don't have money and you can't afford Logitech Brio then you'll have to deal with low-quality webcam until you upgrade.
question: unboxing the stuff is one thing, but how about after the 2nd day , the pull out strap from the battery snaps. One of the batteries refused to charge. And the micro sd card , that i bought together with it, even after formatting it, doesn't work properly. And before you say: contact the customer service from Akaso, i did, and still waiting for an answer. I should have listened , and bought a go-freaking-pro instead. Not impressed at all with akaso.
Hi. Thanks a lot for your great review. Do you know something about the Akaso Brave 7 LE? Do you now when it will be available or if you will have it soon and do a review? Regards,
That SD card supports all video formats and the external microphone? Its a little bit cheaper than the recommended card on their website: EG. Samsung 64GB 100MB/s (U3) MicroSDXC Evo Select Memory Card is highly recommended for AKASO Brave 6 Plus 4K action camera (MicroSD card is not included). Please format the card in the camera before using. ·MicroSD, MicroSDHC or MicroSDXC ·UHS-III rating only ·Capacity up to 64GB (FAT32)
Hi Alex, got the 6brave plus akaso camera. The settings of the resolution was 4k at 30p. The is I was editing the video in inshot but i came out the color and the quality wasn’t that sharp. And i used samsung for editing. I took the video around midday. Is it because of the sun? What is your advice to do editing for beginners? Thank you
Do you think that the micro and stabilization can compare to the GoPro hero 7? Could you make a comparison? I’m thinking about buying the Gopro hero 7 white because I don’t mind don’t being able to record 4K, but need good stabilization (for horse riding) and good micro (recording training and lessons). (Sorry for my English I’m Spanish)
How to use it as a webcam? The pc recognizes it but does not show any image, only black, I don't know if I need a special driver or something, but at the moment I can't use it as a webcam following the steps, I hope you can help me, greetings from the UK Also what are the maximum sd card capacity? Thanks
What memory card should I use the SanDisk Extreme Pro? The link on your description shows the Extreme not the Extreme Pro.. Is it a micro SD? Or regular SD card?
Do you have that camera in the waterproof case? I know without the waterproof case mine sounds great but in it the camera sounds just like you have here.
No, I haven't filmed anything for this video with the waterproof case on. It's also possible that they updated the microphone. I usually get pre-release versions of these cameras
So if you were to choose any akaso camera based on video quality, still image quality (and ideally with slow mo) which would it be.. Or indeed as I looking too spend less than £ 150 would you choose gopro white or similar
I wouldn't get the GoPro white, but for the best video quality I think the Akaso v50 pro is the best... but the Brave 6 plus has way better image stabilization
I just got the Brave 6 Plus. The internal mic when there is no sound has a constant chirp circuit sound and in low light with EIS in I get tinted bars 2-4 on the shot. External mic works great! Are these issues normal?
I want one just for recording my kid growing up and playing/birthdays/Christmas/going to the park, ect. I don't go mountain biking or anything, so the stabilization should be plenty good enough. Is there a way to combat this? Do they make wind screens or external microphones. If so I will buy one this week.
Unfortunately Akaso has this issue with most of their cameras… the microphones aren’t great. You could get an external microphone and that would improve the sound
@@RedskullPro I've been undecided between some Akaso models and their stabilization, your comment really helped me decide my next buy, thanks so much! Are these compatible with chest mounts?
if you mean the v50 Pro has better video quality than this Brave 6 plus then how you compare the video quality of the v50 pro to the yi 4k+ ? i use a gimbal then the EIS not important for me. Thanks a lot.
Yo Alex I need help, I just got the Brave 6 plus thanks to your reviews and I tried uploading to UA-cam some test videos and the results were umm.. awful. I mean the video looked great prior to uploading on YT but the uploaded one was just bad. I shot the footage on 2k, rendered it to 1080p then uploaded it to YT. Any tips?
Why not export it in 2k as well? What format did you export it in? I do mp4...that seems to be the best format so youtube doesn't destroy the video when processing it
@@RedskullPro I tried the 2k too, was still crap haha. Yes it was mp4 and with the right bitrate. Maybe it has something to do with UA-cam's new rule/algorithm/policy that low sub channels get their videos in crappy avc codec and not the vp9 like you have. Dang.
Yeah, the Autopilot on the Tesla Model 3 is fantastic. I still have to touch the wheel every 20 seconds or so so...the car wants to make sure that you aren't sleeping and paying attention to the road
Fantastic review on the Akaso Brave 6 Plus Action Camera …..Impressive results on the moving pictures segment plus the microphone gives decent results , only for the fraction of the price of GoPro Black …!!! Scarboro
Nice review. I was thinking of using it for mountain biking because it has image stabilization. I wonder if it's good enough for that. The roughest ride you gave it was a little bit of running.
action cameras that don't have good stabilization even on a light run look like there's no stabilization at all. the stabilization for this camera is good. it will be a bit shaky at mountain biking, but if you want top stabilization you'll have to go for GoPro.
I am disappointed with this camera for one reason. I mount this camera to my motorcycle helmet, and I turned it on when I am in an interesting place to video. But it only makes videos about 7 to 10 minutes long. Then it stops and starts making another video. There’s something about the set up in this camera that can’t be changed, it only makes videos that are 4K long. my old old GoPro hero three would make half hour long videos so with my old old Sena prism tube camera make a video so long that the battery would go dead in about an hour before it would run out of space or stop recording . What settings do I have to set my Acacio camera at so that I can get longer videos?
I personally only use 64gb cards so it doesn't bother me... but you are right most other cameras that i tried can take sd cards up to 128/256gb. This is what it says in the user manual for this one
Watched a few of your videos and decided to buy this camera thanks to this review! I love how much detail you went into and how everything was explained clearly and to the point. I am having serious problems trying to find spare batteries for this camera though that I can get delivered to Ireland. Is there a particular battery that works on more than one camera that will work on this camera also? Any ideas anyone??

@@RedskullPro Thank You for responding brother! I appreciate the work you put in to these videos.
incredible video, very helpfull! thanks for doing it :)
hi what is the best akaso cam action for you? Thank you
The Brave 8...but it is too expensive for what it is
Will it be good enough for mountain bike clips? Stabilization is key for such clips.
This has the best stabilization for the price...If you need better stabilization you gotta get the GoPro 8
@@RedskullPro I've been undecided between some Akaso models and their stabilization, your comment really helped me decide my next buy, thanks so much!
Are these compatible with chest mounts?
yes, you can use them with a chest mount
if you mean the v50 Pro has better video quality than this Brave 6 plus then how you compare the video quality of the v50 pro to the yi 4k+ ? i use a gimbal then the EIS not important for me. Thanks a lot.
The yi 4k+ is vastly superior to any akaso camera
Dang.
this is one of the best reviews!! Thank you!!
Glad it was helpful!
Always amazing to see people driving with their hands off the wheel. The technological advances of today are quite spectacular.
Scarboro
Hey, thank you very much for checking it out! This also supports an external microphone so that could come in handy in some situations!
@@RedskullPro : Thanks Alex for the reply and the external mic suggestion !
There’s something about the set up in this camera that can’t be changed, it only makes videos that are 4K long.
my old old GoPro hero three would make half hour long videos
so with my old old Sena prism tube camera make a video so long that the battery would go dead in about an hour before it would run out of space or stop recording .
What settings do I have to set my Acacio camera at so that I can get longer videos?
Wooow. Such an amazing camera performance. And that blue color looks fantastic!! 💙

Does this camera have clean HDMI output (clean = without the text and symbol overlays)???
Impressive well presented and most informative ... well done
I’m glad the video was useful. Thanks for watching
thanks man, always enjoy your vids
A max of 64GB seems really small for 2020, nearly all of my cards are 128GB.
I personally only use 64gb cards so it doesn't bother me... but you are right most other cameras that i tried can take sd cards up to 128/256gb. This is what it says in the user manual for this one
Redskull I got this camera yesterday and installed a 256gb sb card with no issues. I didn't even know there was a limit. So far so good.
@@ozricus still okay?
Lighty yes, no issues.
What is the Difference between Brave 6 & 6plus?
Watched a few of your videos and decided to buy this camera thanks to this review! I love how much detail you went into and how everything was explained clearly and to the point. I am having serious problems trying to find spare batteries for this camera though that I can get delivered to Ireland. Is there a particular battery that works on more than one camera that will work on this camera also? Any ideas anyone??
this cam is not even on the homepage where did u buy it
@@hungryhugo7400 Got it on Amazon Uk
@@hotfmdublinsno1 in the german one i can't find it. But what are you using it for ? I wanna do vlogs and go to beaches or cities with a lot of car noise. Do you think the audio is good ?
@@hungryhugo7400 I found the audio very low but only used it once. I haven't had the camera out in a while but plan on using it more .
@@hotfmdublinsno1 oh okey. Thanks for ur quick answers. Have a nice day
Can you do a comparison video between SJ Cam SJ10 PRO vs Akaso brave 6 plus vs DJI osmo ??
I am waiting to get the SJ10 Pro... but I won't be getting the DJI Osmo
Do you know if there are any filters available for this cam (ND, Skylight, UV, etc)?
Not that I am aware...but I didn't look into it
what about the quality at 2k 60 or 1080 90?
Which one is overall better v50 elite or brave 6 plus?
I personally prefer the brave 6 Plus
@@RedskullPro thanks mate♥️
Hey bro...do you think it's better than akaso v50x
Comparison video incoming tomorrow! If it doesn't rain tonight :)
great clear ,concise and logical , liked and subbed
love ur vids. definitely worth subscribing
new fan here from Philippines 🤗
Welcome aboard!
Can you record whist charging from an external power battery or use it as a webcam.
I didn't try using it as a webcam, but you can record while the camera is connected to a power bank or other power source
@@RedskullPro Thanks, just admired the Akaso 7LE, a bit expensive but nice features, got front screen for accurate selfies, a must, a game changer. I think your videos are really professional thanks for them.
Very good review, thank you!
What is the difference between the brave 6 and the brave 6 plus?
better stabilization and video quality
I have one now (previous model of course) and had another one and the waterproof case doesn't hold after 20 meters, the rubber sealing might be lubricated before using it also, but the price, great cameras
i believe that 100%
Hi, great review, why I can' t find this camera anywhere to buy?
I know it's available in the US now... another 3-4 weeks till it becomes available in Europe. I will update the links when that happens
Hi nice review . Could you tell me that does it has a pc connection mode
Yes
I dont skip ads 😅. Thanks for your videos. Im planning to buy cheap action camera with decent quality for our biking moments 😉. God Bless.
Thanks for watching!
Always love your reviews
Thank you very much!
Oh, I can't use any external microphone? It doesn't use a normal 3.5 mm jack?
This can use a external microphone, but it has to be an Akaso microphone. There is a link in the video's description.
@@RedskullPro I found some reviews of the external microphone that is now available from Akaso. It makes the sound so much better that I have decided to now get the Brave 6 Plus. Thank you!
