    Great video! I've been learning since a week and I'm struggling hard to fight my fears. Whenever I float or glide, I try to hold on to something like a floater or the edge of the pool. I can float and glide with a floater or even if someone places their hand beneath my hands but I start panicking if I have nothing to grab with my hands. How should I deal with this? Please help!

    • @danswimnyc
      @danswimnyc  Рік тому +10

      It would help if you learned how to end the float correctly. If you don’t feel comfortable floating without any support you can stop your float anytime you have…
      Do not take off your feet from the bottom of the pool until you have your entire body inside the water.
      Keep your eyes open in the water when learning to float. Ask someone to stay right next to you so you can see their feet in the water, which should help you to realize that you are not alone and the water is shallow if you have to stop your float.

    too bad we live so far apart but i would be one of your greatest challenges as my signature in the water is VERTICAL and no one has been able to help me float. i am a sinker and any flotation for a human is determined by their body density, specific gravity and you CANNOT change that. coaches, organizations, clinics, camps, etc. have never been able to make me a floater. i'm an 81year old usms competitor, 5' 8" 160 pounds with 15% body fat and i spend a lot of energy with kicking to get me anywhere near the surface of the water. the challenge is out there............................. what do i need to do???????????????????
