  • How to float in water is the first thing everyone should learn before they go for more advanced swim techniques. Floating in the water is a survival technique and everyone should be able to perform it. In this video, Jonny Rocket, the creator and owner of RockerSwimming teach us the easiest floating technique ever.

    We see 4 problems a lot of people face and how to fix them. The key to floating is, ironically, a major challenge for beginners: You have to relax. As soon as you master this, you will be able to “swim.”

      Thank you so much for such an excellent response. You are absolutely right regarding floating being the first step one should learn. It's an amazing survival skill that is far easier & better than treading water. I really appreciate your positive feedback.

    I have tried to learn how to float for many years, tried many classes/instructors no luck. Was told i couldnt float due bone density or lack of relaxing my muscles. Your video on "how to float" was all it required to learn the right techinque and I am able to float even in 4.5 feet of water. Thank you, your videos are easy to understand and effective 👏

      Good luck Lotus! I grew up semi-scared of swimming and had bad instructors that scared me in school. Decided to start learning to swim on my own at a nice countryside pool away from everything and had the pool to myself most of the time. Figured it out really quickly how to swim independently in the deep water. Soon enough I had some good basic skills at keeping afloat and learning to dive from the surface and staying under deep water. Eventually prior to covid, went overseas and went swimming into the caves with a pool noodle to rest. But I got to dive underwater in the caves and see underneath. Felt so awesome to swim by yourself. Swimming is really good for your body and its awesome to just be in water. Wishing you all the best. It's definitely a great confidence booster.

I also was trying to teach the kids to float, and all the videos of how to teach your kid to float were missing aspects that your video had. I figured I should teach myself how to float first, before teaching others. So I found your video! I could float before, but didn't know "how" I was doing it, so it was difficult to teach. Now that I better understand how "I" float, I can teach them better! Thank you!

    So, when swimming, (freestyle) do you blow out all air before taking a breath or do you blow out just a little so that your lungs are still somewhat inflated. Still struggling!

    • @RocketSwimming
      @RocketSwimming  3 роки тому +3

      Nice question Irvin! When in freestyle or any swimming stroke, we always suggest to never blow out all your air. Always keep your lungs half full so you don't run out of air because once we run out of air, our body starts sinking in the water. So blow out a little bit of the air and then breath. Just breathe normally like we do everyday. :)

      Try keeping your hips slightly raised. Your body will follow your butt so keep your hips up to keep your butt up and your legs will follow. Think of your head as trying to hold an invisible apple between your chin and your chest and this should help you maintain good head position.

    I was always taught to breathe normally when floating

    • @jogmas12
      @jogmas12 3 роки тому +1

      Technically when you breath normally your lungs still have capacity even after exhaling. So you still be buoyant when you “let all your air out”. It’s more noticeable when you are vertically in the water (as in trying to tread water) then when horizontal simply because when you are vertical in the water there is less surface area. This is why people who drown do so when they are vertical.

    • @RocketSwimming
      @RocketSwimming  2 роки тому

      You can breathe normally but the trick is to keep your lungs half full so you don't start sinking.

You are beautiful just the way you look! You are beautiful! I love you so much! Jesus loves you aswell! Beautiful! I love you! Love! Beautiful! You are important!
