Mica and Mary are so nice to deal with. I enjoy visiting the Mothership since it's only 15 minutes away from me and looking at all the cool posters, and seemingly countless Alembic basses and guitars in the shop area. It's like an hour vacation from the real world. I look forward to hearing the SEREK bass. Wow, your SEREK sounds AMAZING. I love the mix of Alembic and a bolt on neck. I own a Yamaha MIJ P/J bass with Alembic pups and pre and it sounds great, too, but yours growls !
Im fortunate enough to own a Serek metropolis 4 string with the Alembic activators. These basses are amazing. Everytime i play it im blown away, great balance, low action, stellar attention to detail. Jake builds amazing instruments. If you have the chance to buy his work, you'd be a fool not to!
Here’s a tip: Switch on the resonance boost, pluck a harmonic and turn the filter until the harmonic boosts. Then you know exactly where the peak is. You can use this method to give you a specific tone that suits what you’re playing. Resonant filters are awesome!
Hey. You got my Les Paul recording bass on your wall ! OK, you can use it for a while - but I want it back when you're done. You're a very good player Mr. Serek.
Such an amazing sounding and beautiful bass! This design looks gorgeous and different to the mainstream! Could you imagine to build one with a filter for each pickup?
Where to begin... I love the Les Paul Recording bass on the wall! I had one a few years back. I wish low-impedance pups were more common, they have great tone! I love the look of the metropolis bass! it Pairs nicely with the Alembic pups. Not gonna lie though, I really like the Serek pups. Great tone! I'll definitely be adding one to my collection soon. Thanks for the demo!
Im so lusting for an Alembic right now, it's a pity that these Electronics are not more common. That's why I have now a Broughton Resonance Filter Equalizer on my board. That's basically the same with Resonance on LPF and HPF and even parametric mids. Everything sounds just better with that box.
I have an Alembic Essence that was gifted to me by my wife in the 1990s, It is all maple, a high pass control, neck thru, etc, but does not have the gain control. I will say that the Serek Metropolis has a richer tone as well as tone variability.
that’s so cool. if only wal was that nice about selling pickups and preamps
I knowwww
@@serekbassesWal won’t even sell you knobs!
@@Rondoggy67only way they can justify selling lumber for $15k

Love the look of these and so many great and very usable tones in this demo. Nice to have the Alembic sound without the $15k price tag too.
These look and sound killer!
Thanks Will! I am a proud papa.
LowEndLobster you need to get one for your channel 😉

I learned a lot building these too!
There’s a ‘76 P-bass with Alembic Activators for sale in my area. Looks like I gotta try it out.

I hope you're able to build more of these. Sounds fabulous.

Wow, having two alembic you just made my GAS go up, because I love your basses too, but now this is insane! Serek nails it every time!

It's a totally underrated tone shaping tool!
What a wonderful marriage! Superb!
Love the whole concept of this bass. Well done!
Damn, when you put the pick on it those Phil vibes came right through!
This. Is. So. Sick.
Very cool!

4-string is still available just sayin...😂
I know the 5 string is gone already.. but man, it's perfect!
Thanks! There will be more in the future.
Really like the 50% neck pickup sound with pick :]
Those pickups look like they might have a sterile modern sound but actually are very organic/woody
Exactly. I was totally blown away the first time I plugged them in.
make the body shape orderable. maybe not main lineup but like secret menu
I’m surprised Alembic would allow the sale of there electronics 🤔 but great looking bass !!
You can actually order their electronics on their site.
