Nice video Sean. Yes it always had that flare out part in front of the cylinder. Mine is from 2018 when they came out and it looks just like yours. Great test. Looking forward to you tinker with it. Cheers 😃👍
I've been modding out the TR-68, and just got into the Pistelle X68 from Defensive Innovations. Might pick up one of these 7.5 joule TR-50 for Christmas... You don't always want to go full power with these things.
Mine has the wings you were asking about. I have had mine for over a year. What I like about these revolvers is with the molds, a person can come up with all kinds of ideas for ammo to plink with.
Thanks for the input Brett. Appears i was a crazy dummie after all. Yes the cylinders, drum, mag allows for mostly trouble free shaped projectile shooting.
Thanks for another great video. The balls roll out of the barrel, not the drum. As far as tightening the co2 cylinder, I only go hand tight. Even with the Byrna LE, I have a speed changer and I only do light hand tight. That way, I'm able to do it without tools. Don't like the key on the Byrna magazine either.
The TR50 is a great option. I'm ordering a 40J HDX or HDB tomorrow as I'm torn on which one I want, but I do know I have to order one of them before they're sold out again, but I'm kinda leaning towards the HDX because of the combat shottie look and the clacking sound that everyone recognizes as a shottie, but I'll be talking to the company in the morning to ask them a few questions.
I'm torn between the HDB and the M17, and have been torn between these two for 2 years. The HDX is awesome, but too difficult to modify. If you can get the 40j HDX you will have a decent marker, but it may already be at the highest power possible. Whereas, with the HDB the power possibilities are endless. The M17 seems to mainentaince heavy for my liking. So I think maybe the HDB is the best option. I've got everything else in the range.
The Hdx is only 40j with a 88/90g co2. This is an added expense to consider on top of the fact its a bit of a nightmare to work on. Cant beat that sound though.
@@lesslethalfordummiesHomewrecker makes a 40J version that uses 2x12 gram CO2 for the HDX and a 40J HDB that uses a 12 gram CO2. You should check them out if you're interested.
if you get a 1/2 bit and ream the little groves in the cylinder it will fit 12.7mm ball bearings perfectly to a tee and honestly theres no way you will loose velocity if they fit snug , in my experience you most likely would loose velocity if they are too tight, another tip that many don’t know about is you can put a bit of lube in the cylinder and use the cylinder as a mold to make diy projectiles
@@lesslethalfordummies really, thats kind of interesting, i have different brand and they say 12.7 8.4g but i suspect they may be a tad bigger then yours or something, or maybe i never tried forcing them in hard enough
Awesome that you got one of these, my main question is following your HDP 50 valve block removal video for this HDR 50 7.5 joule will that juice up the CO2 output by itself without tampering with the CO2 area, or ….. do I have to maybe like drill a bigger hole in the CO2 area
Riotballs will roll out the barrel even the tuning barrel. I took a couple of cylinders and painted them up thick in the chambers, so they hold smaller ammo but overall slugs are best.
So I have two 11 J ones. The smaller valve blocks. I removed one of them and it didn’t show a whole ton more power so I left the other one in it to get two cylinders out. Of it.
Nice I got mine about a month ago aswell just stock canadian tr50 7.5 joule curious what gen valve you have as if yours is crimped (3rd gen) it might be wise to repair or replace it im probably going to have to do the same to mine i more then likely have one and 3rd gen valves are design flawed 1st and 2nd gen are fine though.
My understanding is the gen4 is the newest crimped, threaded and glue. I believe the one i received was a gen 4 but i chose to swap it for a known gen 4 11j valve because i wanted the threaded co2 restrictor.
@@lesslethalfordummies join the crowd. I don’t even think my mother likes my mug. As a kid my mother wouldn’t even breast feed me. She told me she liked me like as friends!🤣🤣
I will disagree until i see otherwise. I have already noted the larger 12.7mm balls fit much easier in the drum after multiple fitments. I will demonstrate in the followup videos.

@@lesslethalfordummies By the way, the chamber in the 7.5j is slightly bigger than the 11j model, so once you've removed the valve block the 7.5j performs better with co2, 88g, hpa, etc. There's really no need to swap the valve at all. But there's so much more you can do Sean. The possibilities are endless. I can't wait to see what what evolves.
Don’t use super lube multi purpose use super lube silicone oil also you won’t get a good puncture by pushing the cap you have to smack it to get a bigger hole.
Superlube works perfectly fine. 💯 synthetic and i have used for a long time meow without a single issue. Any synthetic lubricant is sufficient, just no petroleum based. Believe it or not Umarex recommends pushing the cap but i agree smacking it makes for a bigger hole.

Several people have said to sand/ream the drum. I can confirm after multiple drums they have loosened up.

I think they used 1.3g rubber balls to achieve that fps rating.
get the zram v2s! no jams on shaped projectiles in the tr50
Yes i may have to give the ole zrams a try now. Revolvers dont jam and they dont drop evidence.
Question about the brand of the chronograph tool you use.? Thank you.
