I wished that TigerSharks have been released onto complete DVD collection too just like Thundercats and Silverhawks because it deserved to be remembered as well.
I’ll never forget watching that Thundercats reboot and spotting that quick shot of shark-men along side Mon-Star. That was the day I learned I wasn’t nuts. My friends thought I made up Tigersharks. Great video, guys 🤘🏻😎
I must be the weird kid because I liked each iteration better than the prior - Silverhawks more than Thundercats and Tigersharks more than Silverhawks. Toy wise though, SilverHawks was the best.
If I'm being honest... When I was a kid 1) SilverHawks 2) TigerSharks 3) ThunderCats Now 1) SilverHawks 2) ThunderCats 3) TigerSharks The order changed because there's SO LITTLE Tigersharks content that there's nothing to help my fading memory.
I barely remember this series. 10/10 for the writing on this one. So many good lines. "It's the classic land, space, sea trinity. Cat aliens, robot space birds, and fish mutants. Oh yeah!" Genius!
FINALLY! Someone gives Tigersharks its due moment in the spotlight!!! Thank you Dan Larson of the Dan Larson UA-cam channel. Brings a nostalgia tear to my eye!
@@scottandrewhutchins It's weird I remember this show block distinctly from Sunday mornings back in the 80s but the only show I can't remember at all from then is street frogs. I remember karate kat and I remember tiger sharks (though I admit I'd forgotten the name but I remember the show) But I feel like I never really watched street frogs or maybe I found it boring or something I just can't remember anything about it.
@The J-Walker I mean whoever thought those 3 comedy shows would work together with an action show was way off. Tiger sharks definitely felt like the odd man out.
This was never shown in the UK..33 years later you have added this to my already and I quote "master of useless information" respository that I use to impress people.
World's first spaceship with a sail! Hold on, Tigersharks! (Also, technically, not true: The Pride of the Skies II from Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors predates that. Good lyric though!)
I'm so glad you covered this! I loved all 3 shows from this trilogy but had no idea they were connected until now. Now I'm also extremely sad that I got rid of my Mako figure way back in the day. There was definitely a good block of time where I was convinced this show was something my mind made up because no one I ever brought it up to remembered it.
Before the internet I thought I had dreamt watching “The Comic Strip” at my grandparents’ house. I wonder if the horrible Sunday morning time slot in some regions was what killed it or it stations dumped it there believing it a turkey. Thanks for the video!
Finally! A History Of... that *didn't* trigger some far off latent memory of my apparently spoiled childhood! I think Jayce was the closest before this. Still don't remember the show, but as soon as I saw the metalized wheels and those weird green brain things it all came back to me right along with Starcom, Silverhawks, Centurions, COPS, Bravestarr, Visionaries, etc.
It wasn't until the transformations at 1:42 that I remembered watching this show. What I like is learning that this show was on Sunday mornings in Philly, while it was after school for me.
I used to see this series in the Basque Public TV. It was incredible how they change the names of the characters to fit the basque names of the fishes.
Out of the three shows, I only remember Thundercats. I was never a big fan as I was outgrowing these kind of shows (or so I thought at the time), but my little sister loved it and we watched it together and bonded a little that way. Mumm Ra was a fascinating and compelling villain though. Totally underrated bad guy and saving grace to the show IMO. Mumm Ra, THE EVER LIVING!!! He was so evil and actually terrifying on a level that transcended a kids show.
Thank you for this!!!! I watched this show regularly. They played the TigerSharks on Fridays on my station, and if you were lucky they got randomly thrown in during the rest of the week. I used to pretend to be a TigerShark when I went swimming. For some reason I always wanted to be Walro
I really enjoy these history episodes about really obscure 80s properties. Now for my weekly plea for you to do a history video on RUDE DOG & THE DWEEBS! Thank you. Excellent video.
The only thing I remembered from this show was that it aired on Sunday and that they jumped into a pool and transformed. I could never find it cause I had no idea what it was called or anything else about it. Thank you toy galaxy for this closure.
The problem with TigerSharks was that it was in a series with other cartoons that were not action series. I wish there would have been merchandise for all the Comic Strip cartoons like figures or plush or something.
I do wonder how many slivers of he's soul does the presenter give up uttering these lines... Thank you you for taking one for the team and bringing us these jewels of nostalgia
That's it. I've decided to work on scripts for ThunderCats, Silverhawks, and Tigersharks. Submit them to Warner Brothers and hopefully make a film that includes all three teams together.
I did watch “Comic Strip” and I knew Tiger Sharks was connected to ThunderCats and Silver Hawks. Yeah, it’s not as good as the others, but I still enjoyed it, and those other goofy shows that were a part of that animation block!
I loved all three acts of this trilogy, being the supernerd kid that I am, and I often wished Tigersharks would just become it's own series standalone from the Comic Strip. Karate Kat was fun too though. Now who says I don't remember the Comic Strip?!
Those two were definitely the best. Camp Minimon was tolerable (though Gravedale High was better) and the Street Frogs just tried too hard while failing miserably.
I watched this as a kid but forgot what the name was. It took me decades of wracking my brain trying to remember! Thank you SO much for making this video! And yeah, I did remember the pool changing them at least.
Man... I caught T-Ray and the Man-tanas live at the Palladium back in '88. Their keyboardist was nodding out on heroin the entire time, but man, can T-Ray pull off an amazing live show! It's tragic that harpoon accident had to have happened when it did.
Thundercats - As a young Kid I always watched Thundercats and still remeber them to this day. Silverhawks - Wasn't untile in when I was 20-ish I found about them when I looked up old cartoons. Tigersharks - ... so unknown I never ever seen them, untile now, and now I am 30 xP
I know I say this every time because you always seem to do a video focusing on a cartoon from the 80’s I hold close to my heart, but I’ll say it again; you are indeed my most favorite person on UA-cam! Keep ‘em coming!
Production think tank scenario: What can we do next? Well we have done cats from space, birds in space, how about fish in space? Fish in space not a bad idea, but let's use the word shark. Kids love sharks.
This is one of the few cartoons I’d forgotten I’d seen until this video :). This, Silverhawks, and Thundercats formed that trilogy that I really liked as a kid.
As a kid i only ever got to see the title song before i had to get to the bus to go into town for school. I was facinated and imagined it was the best show ever.

I love these videos. All these 80s Toons Facts, I'll never forget watching these back in the 80s. Dan Larson does a Fantastic Job telling the info. He kind of reminds me of a Gen X and Cooler version of Casey Kasem. For every interesting Facts of our Generation (Generation X) Childhood stuff. Keep up the Great work Guys! 👍
Ironically enough TigerSharks was my favorite out of the three cartoons. The issue I found with Tigersharks is that they really didn't have a series that was meant to do anything else but die. Both Thundercats and Silverhawks had their own dedicated series, you knew where it was on and when it was on. TigerSharks, you had to check to see if it was on that day by tuning into the Comic Strip. If TigerSharks wasn't on that day, I tuned out really fast.
Gotta tell ya, it was a great time to be a kid. I was a little old for action figures by the time this hit the shelves, but man the rest of that decade was awsome.
Great content. As a kid, I always thought that they share unviverse with Thundercats and Silverhawks, It's a good thing that it was addressed on TCats reboot. I only watched Tigers harks and Karate Kat on Comic Strip and I thought Garbage Pale Kids was one of them. I really enjoy the nostalgia that you bring to your show.
It would be incredible to see all three: Thundercats, Silverhawks and Tigersharks in a shared universe series
Oh that would be cool.
Sadly, it may end up being on that horrendous Thundercats Roar (as one episode had a Silverhawks cameo).
Thundercats 2011 acknowledge tigersharks, actually .
One of the many races under mmunra's slave army.
Yes it would indeed.

ThunderCats: Earth creatures
Silverhawks: Sky creatures
TigerSharks: Sea creatures
They had made Power Rangers Mega Force/Goseiger before it was cool!
I disagree, Goseiger/Megaforce did it after it was cool.
Puts glasses on to take them off in utter disgust
*Epic cinema*
@1:53 Precise use of the erroneous sensor blur is too good here!
Came here to say same
In other words, it was to the Thundercats what the Snorks were to the Smurfs..........
Same trilogy, Smurfs-Astrosniks-snorkels
@
It's funny how the trifecta is always land, sea, air. Even though it's not air but space.
Correct. Snorks are just wet Smurfs lol
@ What the hell are Astrosniks?! For real never heard of them.
I must be the weird kid because I liked each iteration better than the prior - Silverhawks more than Thundercats and Tigersharks more than Silverhawks. Toy wise though, SilverHawks was the best.

I loved all of the shows on The Comic Strip. Really wish they would just release it on digital or something so I can see them again.
My memory came right back when I saw that logo
me too, wonder if there are any rips online
I agree. I've looked all over online and haven't been able to find them, which is a shame cause I definitely missed some episodes when I was young.
