    DO trout love the Grave Digger Kebari? With a name like that, I had to give it a try and October was the month I had in mind for a spooky themed video. I have had a ton of success with DRAGONtail branded flies and kebari and they are very affordable for the bulk. I generally try to keep a full fly box of DT kebaris each year and will happily support purchases with the brand through the Skiddy Fishing channel.
    Rod used was the Mizuchi in the middle configuration.

    The Grave Digger Kebari is an October favorite for me. This is likely due to fall fishing offering so many hatch scenarios to the point where it's hard to pick the wrong fly on a good creek. However, this creek is probably one of more pressured systems in Utah. The fact I didn't have to match a hatch was truly impressive in my humble opinion. You can buy this fly through DRAGONtails website using my link in the description.

    Well done! I too love the gravedigger by DT! Trout really seem to take it fast and furiously!

      I wonder if they think it’s a bait fish? I also noticed it seems to get hammered harder than other flies. Great observation, Mr. Genki! 😃

      @@skiddyfishing could be, I just think it looks buggy! 😂 I like it bc it’s easy for me to see the white hackle! When it’s gone set the hook! 😁

      @tenkaragenki haha makes sense. Either way it works even on this pressured creek.

    Another fun video. The Grave Digger is one of my “go to” flies. The DRAGONtail version is good quality, typical Kebari but the trout seem to like the little green flash. Keep em coming! Neil.

    lol, the stretch you’re on at the start of the video is my favorite little spot on the river.

      @@skiddyfishing yep. I like to go and just meditate and soak it in before fishing. Certain times of the year the left/north side where it splits has the right amount of water for fish to hang out.

      @mwevre1876 that’s one of the few spots I need to try still. Ill have to go pay it a visit! Good luck in St George Mark. 🎣

    Is there a reason you don’t tell us where u are at? I’m local and would love to go to same locations to try spot and equipment.

    • @skiddyfishing
      @skiddyfishing  Місяць тому

      There are two reasons for this:
      1: probably 60% of my Tenkara audience isn’t in Utah
      2: it’s a good practice to not hot spot. Most content creators choose not to mention the exact creek because it’s proven to upset more people than the alternative.
      3….this is American Fork River. One of the few places ill gladly share. It’s pressured and you can see all the cars passing me. It’s got quite a few access points but just stay below Tibble Fork and you’ll get into them.
      I may include more spot locations in my WNTC travels this upcoming year.

      @@skiddyfishing thank you for your comment and I understand your reasoning. I have just started using the 10 Cara Rod this summer and I’ve had incredible experiences. Often I’m catching too big of a fish and they break the line before I can get them on the rod for my tip, it is two weeks. I have also loved Fishing. The Tara rod on lakes because it’s easier for me to land bigger fish and I can get them on the rod bend quickly.

    • @skiddyfishing
      @skiddyfishing  Місяць тому

      @jeffwells4974 I totally agree. Tenkara allows trout setting but in a more affective way which a western rod isn’t going to do as well and requires strip sets.
      What rod model are you using on the fish too big?
