Laura please enjoy and savor your fun shopping trips with your mom. I would give anything to have one more shopping trip with my mom! Love it! Thanks for taking us along!
It was a suggestion made not that long ago but I would LOVE to see Aaron on one of these trips! Would love to see the bringer of sass in all his glory.
I was surprised your mom had not come across a glass barometer before. They actually are fun. It would probably be fun for Benjamin in his room or could be cute in the shed. You put water in it and you can add a bit of food coloring in it. As the barometric pressure changes the water level changes and it moves the water up and down very visibly in the ‘pour’ spout. They are quite cool. If I saw one if those I would buy it. Haven’t seen them in a while.
Oh my heavens!! I literally inhaled with happiness and a shriek!! Just love your Momma and your shopping and antique shopping days!! This is a goal of mine for my mother and myself for 2024!! Oh!! How Pretty!! We will say!!♥️♥️♥️
I love when you go antique shopping but I also love counting how many times you both say "pretty". You have a great relationship with your mum. Something to cherish. ❤
Yeah and “oh no that would look better in your house” “You need that” lol I love the sense of humor Laura has when she out of the realm of “plant lady” and into the real world of freedom lol 😂
Hoping this video makes me feel better. I just got home from homedepot with 2 19inch terracotta pots for 23 dollars each. Which is a steal. I get home, open my trunk and they both tumble out and break into dozens of pieces. My heart dropped. Can anybody else relate lol I’m trying to keep my cool.
Thanks for this Thursday morning treat!!! NOSY QUESTION: How many acres is your parents property and can we all get another tour of their garden after the renovation? They have such mature specimens and the skeletal framework is EVERYTHING!!
Good morning, Laura and Susan, from Windermere, Florida zone 9b The Kurth Ladies are on the hunt! I'm glad you found new (old) treasures! Happy Gardening Everyone 👩🌾 👍 ❤Peggy❤
I so love to watch your videos when you and your mom go shopping. I lost my mom in 2008 and this is things we would do as well. It touches my heart to see you guys do this. Thank you so much for sharing.
I’m from the U.K. and I love listening to you and your mom, even though you were brought up by your mom your accents are still different. I’ve noticed that you and Aaron say “yea” with more emphasis on the vowels whereas your mom and your sister both say “ia”, plain and simple. I LOVE IT!!
I live in Boise near the new In-N-Out Burger and they had large lit traffic signs directing traffic a mile away into the place. I've had their burgers and, although not bad, they're NOT worth the wait. My homemade burgers are infinitely better.
Your mom is so positive.....the flower vase with the lipstick faces: "I think we can make it work!" 😃 And I bet you guys could, too 💐🌷🌻 I really loved the footed bowl you found at Dwell, perfect for your kitchen. Thanks for taking us along today!
I got such a kick when you saw the glass barometer, wondering what it was. I was talking at the video, saying "Laura, it's a barometer, and you need to get it"!!! My Dad was a Merchant Marine and sailed around the world 6 times, he navigated the trips using a Sexton, the stars, moon and sun❤, it was actually the Captains duties but Dad said he was usually inebriated and would pass out so my Dad (he was only 19) would take over😂. Anyway, growing up we had that exact barometer that you saw hanging on an outside wall of the dining room and it really worked😮, we would always know when the weather was going to change! Such truly wonderful memories❤ I think Aaron would love it😊 and a learning experience for the kids. I also learned to be able (within 30 minutes or so) how to tell time by the sun! Cherish your Dad Laura, I miss mine so much❤. You and your whole family are the apittame of what a family should and does look like, thank you❤
The antique store had alot of nice things but my favorite find of the day is the love that you two share. How wonderful to have so much video footage of your family, together, making wonderful memories. Happy New Year!
Tiny Forks: those are used for cheese and chacuterie boards. Very common in Europe and Latinamerica. Those look like my mom had in the late 70's and 80's. You can find in Brazil those are sold with special colored stones and I bought in Italy a Christmas version, y LOVE them ❤
@@kristafloral we call them charcuterie board forks....those are used a lot in Spain and Italy, the little forkd are more formal thank wood sticks / tooth sticks in te board. My mother has just the same ones as shown by Laurs 😂 As the large forks for fondue, the litthe forks are set un the table in a little glass container and each person gets one to start eating.
My son makes tjise cookbook holders. The little cutout on the bottom is for your iPad button in case your recipe is on a tablet. I love mine. Used it to display an old 'Night Befire Christmas ' artwork on the kids snack table from which the adults couldn't stay away.
Having started my antiquing adventures in the 1950’s with my Mom, I now giggle when you say “oh, I wonder what that is,” because I’m telling you the answer!! Discovery is delightful, and you both are learning every time you venture out. Thanks for all the discovery you have provided to us!!! Happy New Year!!!
Adore the antiquing videos with your mom. I’m guessing lunch was not very good, you always like to share how delish the food looks at that closed restaurant. I hope it wasn’t too bad.
I love how Varied your channel is... a little bit of this, and a little bit of that! Makes for a very unique and enjoyable channel to watch...and because you share your life and family with us, and your property adventures, we get to know you...and your family...and now are invested in you as a friend of sorts...one that we care about.... not just spread soil, stick in seed, water, done! I really appreciate your channel, it's genuinely one of the TOP channels out there...keep doing you! It's Awesome!
I believe these are for wedding crowns 7:04, I could be wrong. Love watching your videos! Thanks for all the great content! Hope you all have a wonderful 2024!
Hi Laura, rewiring lamps and creating them from ceramics has allowed me to have lamps that only I have 💪. I looked up the French Globe de Mariée (wedding dome) and learned that they displayed a couple's unique wedding/marriage souvenirs. Congratulations on your new land purchase - so inspiring!!!
I love watching you two and Monica antique shopping. It reminds me of shopping with my Mom at the antique and thrift stores in Petaluma. What a beautiful loving family you have. You are making memories. Happy New Year!
Oh my, the shopping in Petaluma is a wonderful memory I have as well. My parents used to drive us up from the East Bay to have breakfast in a sweet little restaurant that was 2 stories and then we would walk around the antique shops.
@@katiedavis5861 I love Petaluma too. We lived in South San Grancisco growing up. We have a big family and we would come up to Russian River in the summer and stay at a Johnson’s z each. We would stop by Petaluma on the way for breakfast.
@michellebaynes4350 oh yes! I ended up going to college at SSU and married a man from the area so I got to spend quite a few years in that area. We've since left the state but it really was a lovely area.
When my now husband was stationed in Germany....we drove 5 hrs. for some Big Macs, to the McDonald's at the Olympic Village in Munich, at the time the only (and first) McDonald's in Germany. I had no idea what a Bic Mac was, but decided to go on this adventure anyways!
Here is a tip for your Mom with the cookbook cutting board stand. Make a copy of your favorite recipes from the book. Put them in plastic sleeves with 3 holes. Put them in a D ring binder for storage. Then when you use one, you can put it on the board flat. Another tip: install a magnetic strip where the handle and board meet. Use a magnet to hold up the recipe. Also by having a copy of the recipe, you can hand right in any tops to yourself. Example: serve with this vegetable and biscuits. Or when you start cooking for the time you usually eat. Or my favorite, write at top of page really big "Crock Pot". To remember to pull Frozen meat out the night before. Lol! Thank you Laura, love you and your channel. Enjoy spending time with you and your Mom.
Oh I just love the videos with your and your mom antiquing 😍 You have such a fun, close and special bond. I never had that with my mom, so this just makes my heart and soul all warm and fuzzy 😍🙌
It's so fun when you and your mom get out there!! I'm happy you both found some things this time🎉👍👏😊I almost have the most miniature home in the world, yet I always see some things in the background that I would want to get lol!! The time spent together, regardless of treasures found, is priceless ❤ 👍👏😊
Boy oh boy!!! Are your shopping trips a walk back in time for me with my Sisters and my Mom….like 35-40 years ago all through Pennsylvania and Boston!!! You should come and browse in my house because my kids are not interested and everything you are finding plus another 100 years is still with me!!!! Well loved treasures are fun!!!❤❤❤
Oh my goodness, I just love when you go shopping with your mom! I miss my mom, she’s been gone for 6 months now. I smiled so big as you two shopped, I love the things you saw. It’s so funny your mom has been looking for something I’ve been looking for…the book stand. Very nice find. Your food and drink schedule sounds wonderful, what a fun day. God bless you and your sweet mom.
I so love watching these Mom and Laura adventures in Boise and Eagle, Idaho! Always fun antiques and antics. Thanks for the joy. Glad your Mother is able to be out and about and doing well with her healed leg.
The red golden thing is something we had long time ago in german, when the bride wears a little crown from myrtle or so on her wedding, after the wedding she put it on the red pillow with a globe from glas over it to save it.....
