    3:58 - The Potato Fritter is called Perkedel or Bergedil, is indeed a mashed potato that is coated with beaten egg and deep fried. It is one of my fave side dish together with any Malay/Indonesian food like Nasi Padang. 😊

    I do recommend going to Chong Boon Market AMK and try ordering the laksa or lor mee. Or have the traditional bfast with coffee or warm soya.

    I stay near that market in Ang Mo Kio, and yeah that Mee Rebus & Mee Soto is 👌. Since i worked here, my chili tolerance went up coz of eating so much food w/ chillies.😅 How i wish i came across the areas when you were filming... I'm aa big fan of the channel.❤

    That kweoy tweoy dish, i also tried at home but i could not copy the taste. I guess you are correct, it looks simple but I guess, that wok hey flavor and the grill thingy makes the whole flavour savory. I love char kweoy tweoy too! 😀👍❤️🙏

    If you noted, most of our dishes are not native. They are from other countries like HK, Taiwan or Indonesia. Good to add disclaimer on the origins of these food so people can go to the origin countries to try the original dishes too.

    FYI, “rebus” should be pronounced as “ruh-boos”, not “ri-bus”. And kudos to the host for not sweating at all. Remarkable

    How to pronounce ‘mee rebus’.
    mee = same sounds the word me
    rebus = two parts which are ‘re’ and bus. ‘re’ here sounds like ‘re’ in the name renee zellweger. The ‘bus’ sounds like ‘bush’ but without the ‘h’ sound. Or maybe the word ‘boos’ also can.

    char kuew teow is best fry with blood cockles, will add umami taste. Wait you try Penang char kuew toew and duck egg char kuew teow ☺then decide which is nicer...another noodles should try is minced pork noodles or bah cuo mee in hokkien name, must eat for me every time in Sg
