- Last day in Singapore and I wanted to try some of the best noodle places in this country. I started off with some pork noodles at Jalan Tua Kong Lau Lim Mee Pok - the Art of Mee Pok, which really started my day off right with some delicious porky noodles and amazing broth. Then it's over to Noodle Story for some sauce think noodles. I wanted some Chinese inspired noodles as well, which was why I stopped at Lan Xiang Ban Mian for a bowl of hand made noodled and finished the noodle day with some laksa!

Christine Heath it’s our local way of “reserving” a table so that everyone can go get their own food without waiting for each other, a culture bred by the short lunch times and massive crowds esp in the biz district

The best part about him. He doesn't lie. If he didn't like something he doesn't hate on it he just addresses it's shortcomings and moves on. Best food reviewer. So refreshing to not hear someone praising every single thing he eats.

I love how Mikey is so objective about the food, not shying away from when it doesn't taste great. Most other vloggers starting with their "ooo's" and "aaaaa's" after nearly every morsel, which makes me question if they are even tasting the flavours or not!

Thanks to Mikey's videos I've learned a lot about my own tastes in asian noodles. For a long time I thought I really didn't like pho. Then I found that the lime juice and the lemon grass leaves are essential as well as adding hot oil and fish sauce and a bit of vinegar. I guess I like a lot of flavors. Now I have more noodle (often pho) cravings and I'm so so happy current asian food is starting to become more popular (not just americanized asian food like broccoli beef and general tso's chicken). I'm not saying I don't love americanized asian cuisine. I just LOVE variety, whatever that looks like. Authentic cuisine, traditional cuisine, fusion cuisine, creative cuisine.... I just love the seemingly endless variety of tastes that are possible. That's why I watch these videos.

@@toast8725 If you can afford the plane and hotel, food price isnt a big deal. Most of what Mike showed here is cheap food. Take 5 dollars and you can afford almost anything in a hawker center.

I'm rewatching all of your Singapore videos because I'm going there in a few days. I am SOOOO excited for some authentic Laksa. I have already made a too long of a list of places I want to go to but I'm afraid I can't eat as much as Mikey so I will just have to do my best and come back next year. I can't wait!!!

hey mike! i would love to see you try beach road prawn noodles the next time you’re here! it’s at katong/ east coast and i recommend going later around 3pm (it closes at 4) to get the most concentrated soup with the best flavour and avoid the crowds and you need to get the fried ngoh hiang while you’re at it. i think you’d love it!

I always go to bukit merah food centre for their ban mian.. And during weekdays lunch time, their queue is super long. One of the best ban mian.

You can also try our Malay cuisine like Mee Rebus, Mee Soto and Mee Siam, Indian Cuisine of Mee Goreng. When you at the Jalan Tua Pek Kong there, you can actually drop by Eng's Wanton Mee shop to have a good wanton mee (The chilli sauce will SPICE your LIFE).
